We had dinner in Blue Nile restaurant on Oct 29 2016 , and thoroughly enjoyed the Ethiopian Cuisine . To start with , the style of eating is ' with fingers' which is very natural style for us . We were served in a big platter . So big that it just fits into the table! We were served three... More

Excellent food--we had Doro Wot (chicken), Yebeg Key Wot (spicy lamb), and Yessiga Wot (beef) as our main courses. Each was excellent. The injera (bread made with teff) was tangy enough to satisfy. The service was excellent as well. The outside is unprepossessing, but inside is very nicely done.

If you like Ethiopian food the Blue Nile should definitely be on your list. It is housed in a pretty dumpy strip center but do not let that deter you. The injera bread (a pancake type bread made with teff) is as good as I have had anywhere. I had the Doro Wot which is chicken cooked in berbere (Ethiopian... More

It was a new experience for me, eating lunch sans flatware, but it was all worthwhile. We ordered a beef dish and a lamb dish. It was accompanied by a green salad, cooked cabbage, and stewed lentils. Everything arrives on a large platter to accommodate sharing. The food was delicious and the portions were more than adequate. An Ethiopian type... More

This restaurant has traditional Ethiopian food that you eat with their wonderful tefa grain bread. A family platter with a lazy-Suzy rotation allows sampling of a variety of foods and flavors. Plan on using your hands (but not required) to scoop the food with the bread. The coffee is thick and traditional. It is a fun experience!

I have eaten Ethiopian a few times and this place is absolutely the best. Great place for a first timer, they are really nice so don't get turned off by the outside or the mall it is in, the food is great.

We explored a new restaurant to us that has a lovely exterior that invites people in. When we opened the door, we were greeted to a feast for our senses. The aroma of spices hit me first, then seeing the spacious restaurant decorated in vibrant colors of red, apricot and river blue highlighted with Ethiopian artwork everywhere to see. There... More

This is one of mt favorites. I have been there so many times because the food is so good and authentic. I don't live in Houston any more, so don't have the chance to go. Any other Ethiopian restaurant I have ever visited falls short.

This restaurant is located in a strip center not far from Houston's "Energy Corridor" so named for the large numbers of energy industry based companies in Western Houston. The staff have longevity and the recipes are staples of Ethiopian cuisine. If you enjoy this cuisine and the Injera then you will likely not be disappointed. For first time visitors, I... More

Had never had Ethiopian food prior to today, so decided to try something new. The restaurant was nicely done and the staff was attentive. The food and the coffee was very good. The cuisine is probably most similar to Indian food. One word of caution, for those sensitive to strong smells, the dining area had a strong frankincense fragrance.
