Mambo is a jewel. We were in Houston overnite. Hotel staff recommended Mambo. Seafood was fresh, flavorful and served piping hot by a friendly and helpful waitress. Prices are low compared with others near downtown. The manager visited our table once main course was served jut to be sure we were happy. Highly recommended. Very casual. Inside or outside tables... Wonderful food at this venue, with courteous staff. My friends started with the fried calamari, which is not one of my choices, so I opted for the seafood soup along with the crackers, always a safe option. Between the three of us, we had a plate of fried fish basket with fries, shrimp with the fried rice and chicken with... More

Two adults visited for lunch about 11:30 on a Saturday while on vacation. Friendly, enthusiastic servers greeted us at the door and invited us to choose our seating (tables, booths, bar counter, large patio). This restaurant is very casual, similar to a diner but with a coastal Latin/Mexican feel. It seemed to be popular with local residents. Fresh seafood is... More

It's close to our office so great for lunch. Good value, and really tasty food. My usual of fish and rice is easy and filling. An ample portion for lunch comes with bread and side sauce choices. Yummy, quick and friendly. Always crowded which is a good sign.

A different angle on Fried Fish Restaurant....My girls and I have been to Mambos several times....We have never had a bad meal and we always go home with left overs. Everything on the menu is cheap and the plates come loaded with food. The fish has a clean fresh taste to it and the Manbo rice is fantastic.

Enjoyed the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp! I'll be back. Great find. Very busy on the weekends. Super popular Mexican flair.

Food was great, service was excellent. Our server was Norayma and she could not have been more accommodating. I had the whole grilled snapper and my son had the fried shrimp...and we were both members of the "clean plate" club. Shrimp fried rice was also great even though it seemed strange on the menu of a Mexican seafood restaurant. Large... More

If you ever crave great seafood you have to go to mambos! It helps they have a fish market set up so you see what you get. Oysters never tasted better! Ceviche is the best!!!! Their fried seafood has amazing flavor!

I've been to Mambo 5 times now and every time the experience gets worse. Last visit was the tipping point. Previous visit complaints were limited to warm beer and oysters on the half shell not even making it to our table before our main order was finished. This last time started with a waitress that understood ZERO English. She had... More

Established in 1995. Mambo Seafood(R) Restaurants began operating in the predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods of Southwest and North Houston in the mid 1990's with a menu or varied seafood dishes prepared with the best elements of both traditional and innovative American and Latin seafood cuisines. Grilled, fried and steamed seafood roll out of the kitchens served by the pound "family style" or as individual platters. Mambo Rice is a signature dish that guests always rave about! Mambo Seafood(R) features bars where oysters are freshly shucked while guests enjoy a trademark Mambo Chelada(R) with their favorite ice cold imported or domestic beer. The beautiful and gracious Mambonificas™ provide friendly and cordial service while lively Latin music plays from the Juke Box. Most Mambo Restaurants(R) feature a large comfortable patio for outside dining. Mambo Seafood(R) is not just good, its Mambonifico(R).
