Went on Valentine's Day. Sat for 30 minutes and nothing. Went to grab drink menu from hostess. Still nothing. Asked them to send server over and 15 min later she came but couldn't do food order. Sat for 1 hr for a glass of water. No service and uber lame. Several customers were just sitting their confused or rolling their... More

We live close by, so choosing L'Olivier's charmingly chic French place in our neighborhood for Valentine's Day was a no-brainer. We arrived early and were promptly seated at a good table and offered drinks. It was a good thing we were early, because the place soon was filled with couples. We ordered from a four course prix fixe menu for... More

Stopped by with an old friend for a late lunch on the spur of the moment. Met by a friendly hostess and the chef was friendly and engaging. Went with the fig and apple salad with balsamic vinegar, as did my friend, and I had the tagliatelle with black truffle, with the special addition of white truffle.....simply decadent. My friend... On a very quiet Wednsday night after election night my wife and I visited L'Olivier. A very knowledgeable and friendly waiter/bartender quickly fixed us up with a nice, dry Burgundy. We chose to eat at the bar. Uppon request, our waiter suggested we share three apetizers; a salad, a crabmeat mushroom terrine, and a ravioli. This was a true and... More

Service was haphazard on a slow night. The food was quite good - especially the bone marrow - the chateaubriand - and the desserts. Fries were soggy. Duck pate was so -so. The chef is into it and sociable. Some interesting wines.

I attended a party held here last night. I don't usually write bad reviews unless it's really bad. This was really bad. Service at the bar was rude and slow. They obviously didn't have enough people working for the size of the party. When it was finally our turn, we asked for a mojito. And I literally saw the rude... More

I've eaten many times at L'Olivier and have loved most of my meals at this small establishment on lower Westheimer but my last experience there as shockingly disappointing to the extreme. Seems the restaurant's management has fallen apart with no guidance to help waitstaff nor any consistency in wait staff. We arrived timely, were the only table in the restaurant... More

We dined here for our 10th anniversary . . . And we were pleasantly surprised! Service was awesome, decoration was very chic with and loft type atmosphere.... Nice metal (cold) table tops. Now, the food I ordered a Watermelon gazpacho, and let me tell you it was DIVINE! My husband had the steamed mussels, which he liked very much. A... More

Dinner last night was a treat . The sea bass was delicious accompanied by artichoke. The steak frites was perfect paired with a fig salad. The apple tart with crème fresh was sublime. I will return.

We have driven by L'Olivier multiple times over the years since some of our favorite restaurants are located in lower Westheimer. Eventually we decided to give it a try. Located in a strip mall, almost across George's bistro. There is ample parking and valet parking is offered. The evening of our visit there were few guests when we arrived, so... More
