We had the Kung Pao Chicken and Sautéed Lamb with Veggies and it was all cooked to perfection. Best Chinese food we've ever eaten by a landslide. Staff was quick and attentive. We will be going back.

Wow what a great fund! The wonton in broth was the best ever and the portion was quite large. Spicy chicken stick was a little too spicy. The stir fried lamb and veggies is delicious and the lamb was tender and mild. Mongolian beef is very good as well. Very authentic. Good service. Decent prices.

The food is very good. Do not be intimidated by the spiciness. One pepper spiciness just has a hint of the sweet spice flavor but hardly any heat. There are also lots of menu items that are not spicy. The service was excellent. It is not a large place so seating is a bit limited, and the parking is very... More

There are many restaurants in the Chinatown district of Houston. Many. Among the many restaurants in this area, Mala Sichuan Bistro is probably the best and most authentic. We were greeted in a friendly manner and quickly seated. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Sautéed Lamb with Veggies. Both dishes were cooked to perfection; the Kung Pao Chicken had... More

We saw that this restaurant was one of two finalists for the Best Chef Southwest category for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards (and we love the other nominee), so we checked it out. The quality of the food and the flair of the chef were evident, but we aren't used to eating this style of food, which is very... More

The spicy and aromatic chicken is just so yummy but a bit too spicy for my palette. The peppercorns really numb your mouth........they can adjust the spicy level, you just need to let them know when you call for the order. The tilapia steam fish is good. The fish is fresh. We wrapped up the dinner with the vanilla crepe... More

It was packed . I'm glad I tried it. Everything was very very spicy. It was a little hard to communicate with waitress and we got something we didn't order but overall it was a good atmosphere and experience . Loved the eggplant appetizer.
