This is truly a hidden gem in Houston. Immediately off of exit 52B from I45 south is the Culinary Institute LeNôtre and inside the school is the restaurant. You are greeted by a student in their lobby and taken back through a bit of the school. After turning a corner you cross the threshold into a small bistro decorated in... More

We really enjoyed our meal here. I understand the menu is different depending on the day. The service was very good. It was a very nice experience. I like to support the culinary school. Unfortunately it took us 45min to get here with traffic. It isn't in the best neighborhood but there is a security guard in the parking lot.

After volunteer ushering at Houston’s Alley Theatre, my wife and I had dinner at the Kris Bistro and Wine Lounge on the near north side of Houston. Kris is “The Gourmet Restaurant of Culinary Institute LeNôtre”. My wife had read about it and we had wanted to try it for some time. Now that we have, we will most certainly... More

The biggest positives and Kris Bistro are the presentation/plating of the dishes (very professional and beautifully done), the fact that they allow you to bring your own wine and charge only $10/bottle corkage, service was good, and the desserts seemed simply outstanding. Negatives far outnumbered the positives, however: (1) location is terrible; (2) food was consistently oversalted; (3) what was... More

A colleague of mine made the choice and woaw a really great surprise... Wine was perfect the service good standard and the food really above average... It definitely surprised me. On top of this we could also visit the culinary school and it was a good experience... Do not hesitate, go there!

A group of 6 of us went last Friday for the first time. First of all, it is BYOB, corkage $10. We all brought good wine. I had Grilled oysters to start and then had the duck confit gumbo. Both were delicious. We had the fried oysters, steak tartare and veal sweetbread spring rolls for the table as appetizers. They... More

We chose Kris Bistro as one of our must visit restaurants for Houston Restaurant Weeks 2015. When reviewing the 3 course menu we were sold on just the appetisers, so we made a reservation and requested all three courses be from their selection of appetisers. What a great idea that turned out to be. Paired with a bottle of Whispering... More

We have been to Kris Bistro several times and when we saw they were on the Restaurant Week list we jumped right in. We had a group of eight and everyone enjoyed themselves. There was a large menu with 10 appetizers, 6 main courses, and 5 desserts. Some very tough choices. Everything was excellent. Service was outstanding. Wine list very... More

Had a fabulous dinner with friends last Saturday night at this charming restaurant. Roasted oysters with chorizo were outrageous. The duck confit gumbo was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life! I'm going back for more! Dessert was the trio of crime brûlée, perfect. Service was excellent. This was my second visit to the restaurant and... More

I went to Kris bistros with my husband for a birthday dinner. First off, the food is amazing. One of the best meals that I've eaten in a long time. Second, the service is superb, the staff here really make you feel spoiled. We even received complimentary champagne and chocolate candies made in the restaurant. If you want a truly... More
