This cafe is a must for Sunday brunch because of the spicy good bloody mary and wonderful eggs benedict with avocado on the best biscuit ever.

I went to Down House for lunch and dinner. I hear that their breakfast is really their best meal, but I still enjoyed my experience there! The wait staff is very personable and loved to talk about the area of Houston we were in. They do have strange drinking laws in the heights so you have to join their drinking... More

The food looks good but I shared a fried chicken sandwich and I don't like chicken so its not for me to say. It is very crowded on Sunday around 11 a.m. We had to wait but they gave us a table without two of our 8 being there. I enjoyed my bloody Mary. It was very spicy. The french... More

We sat outside on the patio and had the most wonderful server named Cedric, the service was so fast and extremely pleasant. Thank you Cedric! I had the havarti sandwich and WOW, that sandwich will be in my dreams for a while! It was perfectly balanced with beautiful fresh toasted sourdough, bacon, avocado, tomato chutney and a generous serving of... More

We live nearby and often pop in for my favorite salad. The Goat cheese, spiced walnuts salad (add grilled chicken) salad is one of the freshest and most flavorful one's I have ever eaten.

I love the home made fresh juices plus the chocolate. Breakfast choces are delicious. I love coming here during the weekends and just taste different dishes the restaurant offers.

Went here for a birthday dinner. I think we kind of overwhelmed the team a bit. We had a party of about 15. The food was good though! I had a skirt steak salad and it was delicious. Portions are a little small so you might wanna get a starter if you are really hungry. Our waiter, Cory was really... More

We likes this place a lot. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned fantastic and the waffle was very light. Coffee and coffee drinks are dank and spicy. Espresso was delicious. They have great brunch options. Nice outside seating. In doors seemed a little dark and scrunched thus why we chose to sit on the patio. Overall... More

Description
The idea of challenging the status quo manifested itself early with a few questions: Who says that restaurants have to have bad coffee? Who says that bars have to have bad food? Who says that coffee shops can't have great food or alcohol? It would be the mission of DH to serve professionally executed specialty coffee, a chef-driven menu, and a quality focused craft bar.

We enthusiastically live our values of community, quality, hospitality, education, and fun every day.
