My wife and her friends like this place. I'm glad I finally got to try it. I've never had Apple Baklava before, but it was fantastic. The Pistachio Baklava was good too. I enjoyed the Shawarma Sandwich for $6.95. It's a good price and a good sandwich. I only wish they put more sauce in it. You do have to... More

Having lived in Houston for 27 years, Phonecia was one of our favorite places.....until this past Monday. We moved away five years ago and went back to Houston for a day business trip. We decided to stop by Phonecia on the way back home and get eight chicken shawarmas, tabouli and kieves to go.( We have done this in the... More

Fresh fast tasty health... They prepare many of their dishes fresh daily, some are really good like the chicken shawarma. Fast service They have great side dishes, decent tabbouleh and Mouhammarah. Their hommos and eggplant side dishes are acceptable but not great. Fattoush salad is very good, Kebbeh is decent . Service is fast

We just heard about Phonecia last night and had to try it while we were in town for the weekend. I'd move downtown just to be near this place if I could afford to! Market, produce, meat, bakery, desserts, ready to eat foods and a cafe! We didn't have time to see what they have on the second floor. There's... More

This was a delicious meal with lots of fresh food well presented. I went with my family and a couple of friends, and everyone really enjoyed everything (with one exception), and we had a wide range of items. My son and I are vegetarians, and the other three are omnivores. I especially enjoyed the variety of portion sizes, as well... More

Wow in town for training, I had lunch here six times. It's that good. Both the deli on the end of the strip, where I ate, and the grocery are fantastic. There's nothing better than the Chicken Sharwma. Service is much quicker than at the old place across the road.

It is like a trip to a foreign land. Almost like a tourist attraction and the food is out of this world

My husband and I ordered beef shwarma, ceviche (fish and squid), rice pilaf and grilled eggplant. Everything was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was a line, but it was moving fast (we were there at peak lunch time). We enjoyed our lunch. We'll be back.

We decided to go to Phoenicia on Austin St. in Downtown Houston since we both love Mediterranean food. Parking in front and paying the meter was fine but there are 3 steps up to the sidewalk. I'm not sure if there is a ramp somewhere around but if there is I never found it. So, our introduction to Phoenicia was... More

The Phoenicia Diner is open for breakfast and lunch and closes at 5pm. The menu is creative and delicious. They also have a liquor license and serve draft beer. I had the trout which was perfectly cooked and as fresh as can be. My husband had a brisket sandwich with a side salad that he enjoyed. Gourmet, fresh, quality fare.... More
