I have been to Galveston many times in the past, but this was my first time eating at Gaido's. It's on Seawall Blvd so it's easy to find and convenient to everything along the seawall. The service at Gaido's is excellent. My waiter was very knowledgeable and he made my dining experience very pleasant. The seafood was well done and... More

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Gaido's recently. The food was the best seafood we had eaten in ages. The blue crab was perfect. Our waiter, Arthur, was outstanding. He was extremely personable snd gave detailed attention to our every need. We can't wait to go back. Larry Rowe

We had lunch for our anniversary and took advantage of a prix fixe menu. Very good grilled oysters, snapper and Shrimp Peques. We rounded off the meal with house made cheesecake topped with fruit. The French press coffee is excellent as well as the Espresso. Lovely atmosphere, linen tablecloths, waiters in bow ties but the dress code is decidedly casual.... More

I'm from Boston, so I'm no stranger to good seafood. That being said, the scallops I had at Gaido's were the best I've ever had. For whatever reason I've only had them overcooked and rubbery before, but they managed to cook them just right - they were like fluffy butter. I had never had charcoal grilled oysters with parmesan either,... More

It is Restaurant week in Galveston and this is one of the places on the list. We like to try places we haven't been too, or have not been to in a while. First off our server was Sally. There were quite a few tables she was serving and one table had 7 people at the table. I watched Sally... More

We stopped by Gaido's hoping for good seafood. We got great seafood and amazing service. We had a variety of dishes (shrimp, scallops, catfish) in our party from appetizers to dessert and it was all great food. The restaurant has been in the family since 1911 and sits right on the sea wall. We were lucky be able to sit... More

Someone told me this place had gone down hill, but they were wrong. First of all, the wait staff was amazingly good. Attentive and knowledgeable. The grilled oyster appetizers were fantastic. I had a fresh caught tuna filet that was huge, cooked to perfection and covered in yummy lump crab meat. The wines were nice, pecan pie desert excellent and... More

We hadn't been in Galveston for several years & we had missed this restaurant on our last trip. We were very, very, very happy that we finally got to dine with them! Everyone greeted us warmly & our waiter, Arthur, was amazing! He was so well-informed on the dishes...talked 1 of us into Tile, a fish we had never even... More

The enjoyment began at the entryway and escalated throughout the meal. A wonderfully designed and appointed establishment, both comfortable and pleasing to the eye. The menu was expansive and inviting. Every dish served was artistically presented, absolutely scrumptious in taste and worthy of a healthy tab. Every employee encountered projected a warm, receptive and professional attitude. The waitress was one... More

Description
The toast of the Texas coast. How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can't. That's why Gaido's is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido's is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there's no denying Gaido's is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido's has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions- birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido's can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. -- for over 100 years - is truly the coastal classic.
