.... not exactly amazing food. I had a chicken with spinach, my wife had chicken as well. Sons went for burger, again, nothing amazing. Good environment, poor selection of beers and nice service. I won't return for sure. 3 stars is fair.

We visited this iconic roadside BBQ restaurant several years ago. We visited it again yesterday and it is still the same delicious, fall off the bone BBQ.

We LOVE Joel's link sausage! We go to Joel 's and purchase their link sausage which is frozen and vacuumed so we can take home and enjoy! When we run out, we know it's time for another 2 hour road trip because no other sausage lives up to Joel's!

I have been stopping by Joels since the early 2000's. My favorite is the smoked sausage wrap with mustard! Our stop before Gruene hall and the Guadalupe.

Joel's BBQ has a takeout building with picnic tables and a restaurant dining location the BBQ was great and the employees are very friendly. This unique place is frequented by locals and well worth the stop.

We travel back and forth from San Antone to Houston quite a bit and Joel's is a required food stop. While their brisket and sides are very good, their chopped beef has some sort of delicious voodoo bbg magic injected into it. Seriously, one sandwich snt enough, and its not because of the size; which is fine. They've added another... More

Lunch. Weekday. Table for two. Crowded with locals. The place was spotlessly clean and folks at the counter were friendly. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich and slaw. My spouse ordered mixed sausage and potato salad. Our order was served quickly. Portions were reasonable, as were prices. The meal was good but nothing special. I would stop, again, if in... More

The barbecue was great and I really liked the character of the building. I drove from Moulton to Flatonia a couple times just to eat at Joel's in the couple months I was in Texas.

I've been here a few times and every time the restrooms are super clean. The food on the other hand is OK. Not the best but not the worst either. My husband thinks otherwise, he loves this place and insist we stop everytime. I come for the restrooms and he comes for the BBQ.

My husband and I stopped for a very late breakfast/early lunch. Conveniently located off of I-10 between Houston and San Antonio. I had the regular sized chopped beef sandwich, delicious. My husband got the 1/2 chicken, also delicious. We split small portions of cole slaw and potato salad to round off our meal. So much tastier than fast food (although... More
