Nice little BBQ joint in an older building, takes you back in time. The brisket and fries are good but the onion rings are the best I have ever had

Step back into the 50's and enjoy some great BBQ! Generous portions, fantastic food and amazing side dishes all served in a real retro atmosphere. The ribs were meaty and done to perfection, pulled pork and brisket were amazing. Their Italian style green beans are seasoned in basil and butter for a melt in your mouth experience. Welcoming atmosphere and... More

I had a meeting this evening at Peggy Sue's as recommended by the front desk at my hotel when asking for authentic Texas BBQ. This was a hit. Very welcoming and cozy. Food was great. I got the turkey sandwich with soup. Chocolate fried pie for dessert. 2 of us ate, got a beer and dessert for like $35.

BBQ was inexpensive and good. The waitress was very friendly and teased my son into trying fried okra. Service was fast.

For me, the service & sides are the star here. Had the turkey sandwich on sourdough. Couldn't tell it was sour dough since it was all buttered up an toasted. Turkey slices were ample but not smoked. Okra outstanding. Sweet potater tots so good. Could have made a meal of those. Salad bar is basic-- but why go here for... More

Baby back ribs were outstanding. Very well cooked and tasted excellent. I ordered the broccoli against my better judgement. While I love broccoli, I've found in my travels that most restaurants heat them up in the microwave and they often are served just warm with some cold parts and the flavor is bland. Peggy Sue's menu says this is steamed... More

This is an iconic restaurant that is right next to Snider Plaza that has been serving BBQ to the SMU crowd and Highland Park residents for decades. The best thing is that it is not a chain. The downside I have found over the years is inconsistency. In recent years the food has improved but every once in a while... More

I've known about Peggy Sue's for 27 years (and before that, Peggy's Beef Bar)--but for whatever reason, never visited. So glad we did! We had a great server, EXCELLENT brisket (very moist and flavorful--our server called it "luscious," and it was) and really good ribs. The pulled pork was fine (but not as memorable as the brisket) The sides +... More

My host recommend this place for the ribs. I had a pound of spare ribs with slaw and hoppin johns. The ribs were lacking in flavor but were falling off of the bone. I'm not a huge sauce person but I needed to put BBQ sauce on the ribs to eat them. The slaw was great, although my boyfriend doesn't... More

Local Little Shack BBQ friendly staff little ornery but the food is really good. Handful of split some sliders and some barbecue burgers they were good definitely worth it stop
