Great breakfast/lunch spot. Specialty was definitely their southern food. I tried the fried chicken and it was amazing. Melted in my mouth. My friend got the country fried steak and she said it was the best she ever had. Servers were friendly and efficient and really knew their menus. Expect to leave full!!

At first we wondered if we would get served and we were never offered refills on our drinks or desserts. But the food came quickly once we ordered, the orders were warm and correct, and it was extremely tasty. I thought the prices were a little expensive but fair given that it was near the tourist area downtown. We would... More

Good brunch spot. Breakfast served all day. Very good selection of Mexican and Southern offerings. A lot of unique menu items - very hard to decide on just one thing. Portions are huge. Charged a $5.00 fee for sharing which is BS. Servers were great.

We wanted a place close to where we were staying, and this qualified as close. It really was a very nice place. They said they had 24 beers, all of which were brewed within six miles. I tired one, and it was fine. I did not ask for the list. I just told them that something like Sam Adams would... More

While in Dallas with just 2,000 of our best friends to celebrated Faith based non-for-profits in early April, 4 of us were looking for a different type of place to have dinner - more Southern than one would get at a high end hotel. We elected to go to Ellen's based on the type of food and other people's ratings... More

Looked up Best Brunches in Dallas and I chose Ellens, it didnt disappoint. The reviews on Tripadvisor all said there would be a wait but we were prepared. Once we got to Ellens, I asked about the wait and was told 20-25 minutes. I then asked about the patio outside and we were seated immediately. It was a bit windy... More

We shared a pancake pot pie. Was pretty good, never had anything like it. We decided to share it on the servers suggestion that it was pretty big. I was surprised when our bill came there was a 5 dollar plate fee to share the entree. Really?

I thought the food was quite good. Overpriced for breakfast so be prepared to shell out many dollars. Nice place in the heart of tourist downtown Dallas. Other than the price I would recommend this eatery in the historic warehouse district which is near so many other things to see and do.

When we got to our hotel after the drive from Houston we tried to find a restaurant. Nothing close appealed to us so we looked online and found Ellen's. The food was delicious and the service superb. It also was nice to learn that everything is made from scratch.

Lazy rainy Sunday, wasn't sure what we were eating. Tried Uber Eats, and had them to deliver from Ellen's Southern Kitchen. Was not disappointed, the food was wonderful. Had to chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and green beans. My daughter tried the salmon and she loved it. I am going there to see the actual restaurant soon.
