Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great little country pub. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, particularly as we hadn't booked and it was a busy day. The steak sandwiches were sensational. We will be recommending this place to our friends.

Love this little pub/Tavern in Eldorado. Known as the smallest pub in Victoria. Went for lunch on a lazy Sunday. Cozy pub with a nice atmosphere. Serves great burgers. We got the chicken snitzel burger with chips. Very yummy. Great size & heaps of chicken...snittys on our bugers & the chips were cooked really well. We didn't need to have dinner that night it filled us up. I ordered a coffee. Best latte i have had for ages. Eldorado is a lovely little spot to visit & investigate & definately visit the pub while you are there.More

We had a delicious lunch today , it was one of those rare days you could sit outside with the temperature in the mid twenties and no wind. The setting is perfect, with lovely leafy trees, well maintained lawns and plenty of seating. The owners...were away and John was managing the place. What a find he is for the owners ! He was so helpful, and very pleasant and worked extremely hard all the time we were there. The food was great, my husband and I shared a huge parmigiana and my sister in law and partner both had the calamari and salad. This was followed by citrus and caramel tarts with a local vanilla bean ice cream. Yum, don’t hesitate to go and enjoy this rare find so close to Albury and the surrounding area.More

A weird spot full of locals who don’t seem to like non-locals. Very unfriendly and would not serve us blaming the lack of cutlery which is the strangest excuse I’ve ever heard. Don’t waste time and energy going to this place

We went for lunch on a sunny Sunday and the food was delicious. We had steak sandwiches and southern chicken burger. Probably the best meal we have had in a long time. The chips were fat and crispy. The staff were lovely too. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous little spot. Such a shame about the Staff! We were enjoying the charismatic environment, playing pool when a staff member, a petite, older lady, with a short bob asked, would we like the pool table light on? “Yes please,” I replied … and can...you turn the horse racing on Television above us, off? So we can concentrate and enjoy our pool game more so? There are two large screen TVs, one outside, one inside. Both were playing the same horse racing channel. Was this an unreasonable request considering we were the only people inside the establishment? Admittedly there were maybe 4 or 5 locals who were only frequented the outside fireplace area, other than to buy an occasional drink for themselves inside. During the last hour! I was told, in no uncertain terms… to put my earplugs in! if I didn’t like it! To which I responded, Wow! Maybe we’ll just leave instead? The response she gave, honestly puzzled me. I was told too…. “Be her guest!?” God forbid she is the actual publican. Truely, we’re concerned for the township of El Dorado’s prosperity as a tourist destination. Very poor form.More

Describing itself as "the smallest pub in Victoria", the McEvoy Tavern delivers a top-notch experience. Friendly service, lovely garden setting (was a warm night so we sat outside under fairy lights) and really delicious pub food. The town has some lovely walks too, so recommend...walk followed by dinner :)More

Called in fo a cold beer on a very hot day. Beers were cold and fresh, and the barmaid made a special effort to refresh the water bowl in the garden for our dog. No food available today but a nice stop in a quaint...town. If you are there, go and see the dredge!More
