Went for a weekday lunch based on a recommendation of family. Easy to find. Very pleasant atmosphere especially outside on the patio. Nice view of the park and river. Menu offers a full range of lunch options. Had good clam chowder. Not the best ever but good with lots of clams. The Reuben and Monte Cristo were excellent. Highly recommended.... More

We love the food and feel at Little Gretel Restaurant. Dinner was so good, we went back for breakfast the next morning. Their Hill Country Pancakes are the best. The sauerkraut is legendary. Sitting outside has the added benefit of people watching as folks walk and play along side the river. The staff is always accommodating.

After an early Saturday movie, went to a late lunch. Got the last table and quickly waited on. Ordered severL types of schnitzel, all were tender ( cut with a fork). Spatzel, fries and sauerkraut were good. Food could have used some additional spices. You would have to go to Fredericksburg for better.

What a great menu! Czech, German and BREAKFAST! We had a big variety of treats just to check it all out! The atmosphere is good and the location on the sweet little downtown stream is nice too. Must stop on the way north from San Antonio!

The quality of food in this establishment never disappoints. We ate here years ago and had been wanting to go back ever since. I had the best Reuben there I've ever had years ago, better than in Germany. This time I ordered the Red Snapper with Crab and it was wonderful. We got great service, the Staff was upbeat and... A small group of us that were here for a wedding ate breakfast here on Sunday morning. They open at 9, but by shortly after that the place was packed. We all ordered different items; the French toast was very good, the omelets were very nice, as well as the eggs to order, etc. Service was very good, despite how... More

Went there for lunch with my wife. Thought it was an authentic German menu, but they didn't have a very large selection. Plus, their food was not that good. Their cutlets were ok, but not what I have eaten in Germany for 15 years. The breading fell off too easily. Their spatzel was gummy with no flavor. Very disappointed.

Took my mom for Mothers Day. Given the day I expect slow service because it was busy, but I didn't expect no service. We saw our waitress maybe 3 times and had to flag down other waiters just to get refills on drinks. We both had Lox Benedict which was superb. I may have to give them another shot.

Our party of 9 arrived at 1:45 on Sunday and we were the only party at the time. We ordered tea for all, 2 salads,6 burgers and 2 breakfast plates. At 3 pm our salads finally arrived. During the hour wait for our 2 salads another table of 7 came in, ordered, received their meal and were finished eating. They... More

There were six of us for a late lunch. Four of us ordered a hamburger (10.99). I ordered the Cobb salad (10.99) and pretty wife ordered the Monte Cristo (9.29). We were the only customers in the restaurant other than a table that had two people dining. The reason I point that out is that it took over THIRTY MINUTES... More
