Great place for a dinner, take friends, out of town company but be sure you go "Dutch". Can be pricey but it's worth a special occasion. Love the tea, the food and the atmosphere!!!

We drive 339 miles to eat here. ( yes, we have a home in Townsend!) We do not take it for granted that there is a wonderful restaurant to enjoy for dinner since we remember the days of the side walks being "rolled up" early...More

My friends and I took a limo out to Townsend and wanted to have a destination upscale dinner. When we contacted dancing bear they were so accommodating and adapted a beautiful set menu with paired Rose and Wine. Nick and Cristen were so easy and...More

Some of the best seafood we have ever eaten, so fresh, such creative cooking. Everything was top shelf! Service was perfect, even though the restaurant was full and there was a TV crew filming for an upcoming Travel show. Atmosphere is terrific, inside or out....More

The wait staff was excellent. However the food was not. Several in our party got sick from the undercooked chicken and I got violently sick from it. Also there wasn't really enough of the appetizers for 20 people and the bread, which was $4.00 per...More

My husband and I went here for our 33rd anniversary. First, the ambiance of the entire resort is just breathtakingly beautiful. Our server, Kathy, made us feel like special guests. It was relaxed, yet refined and I haven't even gotten to the food! My husband...More

Dined here after reading many good reviews, so was very disappointed by the inconsistencies. I began with the fried okra Caesar which quickly deconstructed itself. The breading on the okra repeatedly slipped off, leaving the bare vegetable to be dipped in a rather mundane sauce,...More

My wife decided to eat here for our 42nd anniversary. We mad early reservations though there were few people there at 5:15pm. The lodge and the bistro is in a beautiful wooded setting in the very quiet town of Townsend which we love. There is...More

Best meal in the smokies. 12 people, and all were very happy. We always have a great meal and the ownership is the best. Going to visit and spend two nights in the cabins soon.

When we visited there was no apparent dress code - customers were dressed from the very casual to quite dressy.

Hi Stacey, I'm not sure. However they do have a well rounded, diverse wine list available.

Dancing Bear Lodge's full-service restaurant, Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro, is one of the finest Townsend, TN area restaurants. It offers casually elegant, regional cuisine. Enjoy simple fare from a menu that is refined, but not fussy. Family and friends gathering for a fun meal as well as couples seeking a romantic dinner for two surrounded by wooded views, are equally at home here.
