Very relaxed atmosphere. Good for casual conversation over food or a beer. Indoor and outdoor dining. Mostly burgers, sandwiches and salads, all we tried we good. Fried pickles were especially good. Lots of kids from the college eat there so has a very youthful vibe...in ambiance and music. However were a lot of older folks there as well when we were there on a Saturday night. Would eat there again.More

i first visited here some 35-40 years ago when a friend who knew about this place stopped by on a road trip. This was the first place where I had a sandwich with alfalfa sprouts and i thought it was the neatest thing and added...a unique flavor. I have not been back, so on our trip home we stopped by. I ordered a Shenanawich and my wife ordered the patty melt. There was a long wait for the food my wife's patty melt burger left a lot to be desired, with the meat only really on one half of the sandwich. The Shenanawich was good, but not as good as I remember, which I think can be said of a lot of things that are revisited after so many years have passed. It is a college hot spot for the University of the South, and I didn't see an6yone cleaning tables between guests, so no high marks for sanitation.More

They just started serving breakfast Fri - Sunday. Chicken and Waffles, biscuits and gravy - best in town. We were going to Monteagle or Cowan for breakfast before they started this - now we're going to wear them out!!

We enjoy eating the pizza at Shenanigans. A few weeks ago we drove over an hour to eat here and again ordered the pizza. It was different this time. It was over cooked and tasted like cardboard. I did notice the taller young man who...normally cooks my pizza was not there and the lady behind the counter said he was out a few days. We got there right at 11 on a Saturday but the two girls seemed over stressed since they didn’t have enough help. Hopefully this was a one time event. You can’t find thin crust authentic pizza many places. We may try it one more time and if it’s bad again we won’t go back. Most everything here is way overpriced.More

Service slow, food expensive for what you get. $9.50 for a burnt cheeseburger and $3.95 for a small order of lukewarm to cold potato chip like fries. Not worth it. Try another place. They even had a catering truck. Wow! Who would want that?

Took my mom up here while out and about. I had a grilled cheese and a bowl of chili, she had quiche and soup. Took a long time to get our food, everything was already prepared but the grilled cheese. The sandwich was okay, mom...likes her lunch. The chili was the worst I’ve ever tasted. The flavor was dominated by cumin. I’ll probably give them another chance, we’ll see.More

Don't waste your money here. We waited almost an hour for a grilled cheese sandwich (which was the special). A slice of cold cheese on a piece of toast - We were going to eat there- but it took so long that we got it...in a to go box. A waste of $20!!! Not enough eating options to visit Sewanee ever again!More

This is an awesome local dive that has been around for 46 years. Comfortable, full of personality, and the food is great! Jay says don’t miss the spicy turkey melt or the onion rings. Highly recommend!

They have a lot of items to please anyone. And I could order Bold Rock cider. I went with soup and salad. Baked potato soup had a kick with onions in it. My nieces are vegetarian and had lots of choices. Roomy, could easily seat...8 for lunch.More

Great chicken and sausage gumbo soup. Very happy with the BALT (bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato) sandwich on rye. Friendly service...unique college type atmosphere.
