Went there for dinner with some business associates, some traveling on meager per diems and you could tell the prices scared them. The place is in an old southern mansion which makes a pretty cool setting for a nice meal. I had the ribeye which...More

Worth a visit. The salmon was excellent as was the steak. The vegetarian option was satisfactory - pasta and veggies.

Our server was Justin and he was fantastic ! He was cordial and fun and completely understood the dynamics of our group. I did not have a steak and probably should have. I had crab cakes, cream spinach and scalloped potatoes. I would not recommend...More

Ate here after seeing an advertisement in a magazine. Steaks were really good as were the baked potatoes. The little cornbread was good but cold. The server was okay but could use a little more expertise on offering more dressing if what my wife wanted...More

I eat there and had no problem but I did tell them ahead of time that I was gluten free. Honestly though I would choose a different steakhouse if it were me. I have found the steaks at Mortons or Kayne Prime or Stoney... More

I don't think so - this place can be pretty laid back - casual and dressy is OK. If you're coming with more than four though, I'd definitely make reservations

Sure they are. We started bringing our daughter when she was about 10. Now that she is 23 it's still her favorite restaurant.

Description
Housed in a glorious Southern mansion in the heart of Music City, Jimmy Kelly’s continues to be the standard by which all American steakhouses are measured. Founded in 1934 while the country was in the throes of the Great Depression and just one year removed from the repeal of prohibition, Jimmy Kelly made a promise to himself and his diners. Simply put, he would serve a great steak, a generous portion of whiskey and insure the service was always attentive. Making good on that promise has been the cornerstone of the restaurant’s success and enabled it to survive and flourish. Now over 80 years later and operated by the third generation of Kellys, it has earned a reputation as one of the grand old restaurants not only in Nashville but the entire southeast. Come anytime and enjoy a great steak and a generous portion of whiskey!
