I was in Nashville on a business trip and I stopped in for a late dinner after finding The Row in a Google search for "good food near me." At 8:45 on a Wednesday night, the place was pretty full with people having an obvious good time and enjoying the (very good) live music. It took a bit for the bartender to greet me, but he was very busy filling drink orders from the waitstaff (the bar seats were mostly empty). I ordered a local beer that was very good and asked for a food menu. The food was pretty basic pub fare with a southern/Nashville twist (including hot chicken). I ordered the Nash Burger, which is wagyu beef with cheddar cheese, bacon, Nash Sauce and a fried egg. It was absolutely delicious - the burger was the star of the meal. The accompanying french fries were thicker than I like (though that's just a preference so no points off for that), but were lukewarm at best. The burger was also, while delicious, not hot. So it's the combination of the tepid temperature of the food and the enjoyable atmosphere, great beer selection (I had a second, different local beer while I lingered and enjoyed a second performer's music) and friendly, if sub-optimally attentive service that settle this rating at a 4 instead of the 5 I'd like to give. I will definitely return, though. I enjoyed the space and the next time I order food, I'll see if the food temperature was a one-off issue or a consistent problem. I won't order the fries again, though.

Hey CommAve,
Thanks for dining with us! We're so glad you came to The Row. Great choice on the NashBurger! It's a show stopper for sure. So many great elements to that burger with nonstop flavor. Nothing better than eating a great burger and enjoying a cold beer. We appreciate the feedback and will use it moving forward. Thanks again for dining with us, listening to music, and taking the time to leave this review. We'd love to have you back anytime! -Joey

Had to go to Nashville twice on business in February 2020. We went here both times. The fist time was six of us and we were right by the music. We ordered off the full menu and the food was very good. In particular if you have a sweet tooth, the bourbon pecan pie was amazing. The second time we went as a larger group and ordered off a set menu and were seated further back, not as good an experience but they did handle a large group well.

A local friend suggested we go to The Row when I told him I wanted to listen to some live Nashville music and have Tennessee BBQ. The Row was perfect for both. My daughter and I enjoyed listening to two up and coming vocalists, both of who interacted beautifully with the restaurant guests, and both performed beautifully. My daughter and I both enjoyed deliciously prepared BBQ brisket with cole slaw and French fries, and we also had a complimentary fried pickle appetizer. It was a wonderful evening for a father/daughter date in Nashville.

Hey Allan,
We're so glad you took your friend's advice! You came to the right place for music and bbq! There's something for everyone on our menu. There's no need to go to Texas for good brisket! Our hickory makes some of the tastiest bbq in Nashville. It means so much that you had your daddy daughter date with us. Thanks for the awesome review. Come back anytime you're in the neighborhood! -Joey

The Row Kitchen & Pub managed to lower my average opinion of dining in Nashville with a meal that had too much salt, too little flavor, and some weird service. Upon arriving to a nearly empty restaurant late afternoon, my companion and I were escorted to a table near the back and I'm seated facing the hallway to the bathrooms. The deviled eggs (five way) were way too cold and bland. The fried green tomatoes were nothing special, not really cooked through, and the toppings were ordinary. The shrimp and grits dish was awful, really awful. Way too salty! Soupy and just lukewarm too. The banana pudding was bland and too cold-even the cookies on it were cold. Sometimes with a meal like that you’re going to wonder if the staff is deliberately being mean to you.

The singer who was playing the night I brought out of town friends to the Row was fantastic. The staff was courteous and prompt. The food, however, was very lacking. My friends had two different types of burgers and I had the steak frites. Neither of my friends are their whole burger and ones stomach started feeling upset. My steak was very very dry and did not taste fresh at all. Overall the experience was not bad but the food was very disappointing for a nashville restaurant.

I thought food was too meaty, no veggies at all. I ordered the meatloaf & it was meatloaf, mash potatoes & gravy. I feel like they should add some peas or carrots to the plate & not charge such a high price for a side.

When we arrived there was no one to greet at the door. We waited way to long as employees kept passing by us. When we were finally seated things seemed better till we received our food. All of the burgers that we ordered were rare. We were told that the regular burgers would be cooked well and if we payed up to the higher level meat then we could get it cooked to temp. I ordered medium and still got rare. The experience was just disappointing because I’ve gone before and had such a great time.

Food was very good however front reception area is very disorganized which made me lower my rating. Was told that we had a 30 min or less Wait. After 30 minutes went to the reception area and told the wait would be another 30 minutes seeing lots of tables with no one sitting at them and no reserved sign. Lots of others asking same questions. Finally got a table after almost an hour wait and ordered the fried pickles which were delicious. Got the pulled pork plate which was also very good. Entertainment was great too Would highly recommend having someone run the front reception area who knows what they are doing.

Don't waste your time. Terrible food, terrible service. We sat for for over 20 minutes while our server failed to check on us or refill drinks. The food was nasty, we couldn't even eat it. Everything had a weird taste and the hash brown casserole had so much pepper in it, that was all you could taste. Such a shame because the menu looked promising. I ordered The Row Bennie. Soggy biscuit, bacon was all fat and my hollandaise was like wall paste that tasted like pure lemon juice. It was so thick I turned the container upside down and it stayed in the container. Server said, I can warm it up lol. Why didn't you bring it to me warm to begin with?? Luckily the manager took care of everything and was apologetic but we will never go back.

Our party of five had a great experience at The Row. Our server Josiah was fabulous and attentive to our party. We chose to sit on the restaurant side as the music seemed pretty loud on the patio and we wanted to be able to talk to one another. We all enjoyed our craft cocktails and started with the fried pickles as an appetizer. The food was also great! We each had different things - pork BBQ, Hot Chicken, mashed potatoes, bacon Mac and cheese (yum!), salad, cornbread - it was all amazing! I highly recommend a stop here if you are looking for a great meal in the area.

We ordered meat loaf and mashed potatoes. $16.99 for a small serving of meat loaf about 3/4 inch thick and dried-out and warmed over mashed potatoes. Less than a teaspoon of carmelized onions. For the size of the serving, and if it had tasted good, maybe worth $6.99.

We ate here twice for breakfast and loved it! On our first visit, I enjoyed a country boy bennie, which had a tasty Southern twist of hollandaise over a poached egg on local ham and spinach. My husband enjoyed the house scramble with peppers, onions, and sausage. Both were delicious! On the second trip, I enjoyed the best steak and eggs with a biscuit and gravy that I had ever had. The steak was cooked to perfection. My husband accidentally ordered the Breakfast Mac. He didn't read the menu carefully enough and thought it was going to be some sort of egg mcmuffin. Much to his surprise, scrambled eggs with bacon, ham, and cheese over mac n cheese was much better than he thought it would be. If you get a chance, be sure to sample the jams and biscuits! The service was great and the rustic atmosphere fun and inviting.

This is a really neat restaurant with live music every night. The service was terrific and the food came out extremely quickly (which we appreciated since our kids were starving). We had the kale salad (my salad loving child raved about it), the mac & cheese (very good), the hot chicken with habanero cake (the medium "hot" level had a great burn), and the chicken friend steak (delicious!). We started with the fried pickles (a little thinner than I prefer but very good) and the fried green tomatoes (we loved that they were cut in half for sharing purposes). We had the peach cobbler for dessert and it was just ok.

My wife and I had dinner at The Row on a Friday evening while we were in town. We were shown to a table immediately upon arrival and were quickly greeted by a friendly server. A young woman was playing piano and singing beautifully in the bar. I had some bbq, which was some amazing that no sauce was required. My wife had the Nashville hot chicken, she liked it a lot but it set me on fire. To be fair, I am a sissy with spicy food though. We live a couple of hours away but we will certainly be back when we are in town again. The only down side was a drunk guy sitting near us who felt the need to praise the singer with the most obnoxious and frequent “wooooo” and the loudest claps that I’ve ever heard. Maybe she appreciated his enthusiasm though.

Our group of 8 visited for Sunday brunch - we’re a bunch of Southern foodies, so this place was a great choice. The deviled egg variety appetizer, collard greens, and breakfast BLT with fried green tomatoes & peppadew pimento were the winners! Just be warned that the gluten-free menu doesn’t extend to brunch so our gf person had to order a la carte. Not a huge deal - just something to prepare for. Fun & funky place if you need to escape the crowds of Broadway.
