Staying in Yarram for a weekend, decided to give the local a try and was so pleasantly surprised to find a massive range of gluten free options and staff that were all well versed in GF and simply lovely people.
My hubby ordered a GF meal as well so I could sample more than one dish, we got the Carbonara (has to be in my top three carbonara’s I’ve ever had) and Avo Chicken dishes. Both were huge and delicious.
Honestly I’d consider driving the 2.5hours for to have a GF dinner here if it wasn’t a crazy thing to do.

This is your standard country pub. Very busy on a Friday night, with an extensive menu plus specials. I had the seafood platter ($32) which was mostly deep fried with 1 battered flathead, prawn twisters seafood stick, calamari, chips, but also had some fried prawns, 2 scallops in the shell and salad. My husband had an entree of a dozen kilpatrick oysters for $25 which was good value. He then had the creamy seafood risotto for $27 which was very tasty.
Nice food and reasonable timing of meals.

Went for dinner last night. As a coeliac this is quite often a difficult process but I heard they are really good with not just gluten free food but cross contamination.
As soon as I told the server I am a coeliac she immediately reassured me they have a separate preparation area and a dedicated gluten free fryer.
It was so nice to just be able to order a meal without worrying I would get sick or having to ask a heap of questions!
I had a great chat with the manager Tom who told me why they are so diligent with their kitchen and other dietary restrictions and he was so helpful.
There were three of us dining and all of us loved the food and can’t wait to return.

Stayed here for one night before returning to Melbourne and was disappointed to find that the room had apparently not been used for some time, as there was a thick layer of dust on various surfaces that I had to clean off. One of the glass panels in the bathroom window was broken that allowed small bugs to fly in during the night. There was also no toilet paper so I borrowed a roll from the restaurant toilets. To access the car park you need to drive through the drive-through bottle shop and you're able to park right outside the room.
Despite this, the staff were lovely and were extra kind in allowing me to heat my dinner in their microwave as I'd stupidly bought it before triple checking if my room had a microwave. While there was no microwave, there was a fridge and a kettle, plus extra blankets in the cupboard. In the end, it was a room with a bed and that's what I was paying for. It probably would benefit from a renovation as the room looked quite old and tired. Not sure if I'd stay here again but would consider it.

The meals are ok but the prices have increased considerably. Senior's meals we're $16.90 last year have risen to $22. Add to that the lunch menu was not available during the 'public holiday' period, Friday the 19th January was not a public holiday.

Called in for lunch on a Monday. Multiple menus to choose from. Venue is a bit dark or dull inside and background music was intermittent. Staff welcoming and the meals - fish n chips and chicken snitzel - were good sized and tasty.

Excellent menu! Our friends all enjoyed a big round table. Lovely staff. You go up the the bar and pay for food and drinks and then they are served to your table. It was Kiev night, so we had chicken Kiev, rice, chips and salad as well as a complimentary beverage for $20. I also tried my partners chicken Parma which was delicious. Waffles for dessert were nice too.

We had been there a few months ago with friends n between lockdowns and decided to go back for dinner when we slept there on our way down to Wilsons prom. The 200grms grilled steak was excellent, cooked rear as required and very tasty served with chips and 5 different vegetables. Service was prompt and friendly. A great place and very good value

4 of us had a meal for dinner. The service was exceptional from the phone call earlier in the day to tweak our booking time so we would not be rushed with the two sittings to the friendliness of the staff. All the meals were generous and delicious and came quickly. We felt as though we had the dining space to ourselves with plenty of distance between groups and we were not rushed at all. We did not need to leave the table once seated. Drinks, meals, bill and eftpos machine all brought to the table. We loved Yarram and we loved this pub. We will be back.

Commercial Hotel YARRAM.
Food was very ordinary to say the least. And overly expensive for what was offered.
Fish was tough, dry, not fresh at all, obviously been frozen. Chips supposed to be ‘super crispy’, were soggy, & tasteless.
Children’s menu, which came with small drink, ice cream / or activity book, the book was not available. We asked to take ice cream home. As child was feeling sick. It was the smallest amount of ice cream possible.
My family have lived in this district for over 150 years, knowing this hotel since it’s opening. , I will not be going back.
I highly recommend you do not bother visiting!

We enjoyed takeaway dinners on two occasions during a weekend away. We were able to order online and collect which was very convenient. The food was delicious, especially the beef ragu gnocchi and the serving size was quite large. Takeaway menu had a lot of variety and prices were decent. Staff were also very friendly. Will be returning when next visiting Yarram.

There are not a lot of places to choose from for dinner in this area, so we decided to try this pub (not usually a pub meal person). The service was wonderful, very accommodating which seems to be a theme in the Gippsland area. We got very good vegan meals at a good price. Don't go by the menu, we just chatted with them and they are more than happy to put a meal together that suits your needs!!! 👍

We had an early dinner while travelling. The beef ragu pasta was the best I can remember having. The seafood platter was a good mix of fried and grilled seafood with a vibrant salad. The staff were great nothing was too much trouble. Plenty if Dairy and Gluten free options.

We were a large group (16) and arrived without a booking on a Saturday afternoon. We were able to sit in an outdoor area with ceiling fans and it was great.
Really good pub food for kids and adults alike. Good steak and excellent pork ribs! Buy the ribs!
Really pleased with the experience, will be back.

So great to be eating out and let someone else do the cooking. Rather quiet for a friday night, but that gave us the chance to chat with some of the delightful staff as they upskilled to table service due to covid 19. Steak was delicious, veg bit overcooked for my taste but not a big deal
. Desserts looked so tempting that we had take away to enjoy later...choc brownie and lemon meringue..yum.
