Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very beautiful place, the pizza were amazing, Dessert was very nice too. Staff very friendly. The only thing is the seating arrangement. We made booking and came early the whole place were still empty and they sat us down at the corner of the room...with no much view. It would be nice to offer the customer specially if they arrived early and so many good spot still available whether they want to have a table with the view or not. But overall was a good experience.More

My experience here was the upsetting lowlight of a weekend away with family. Food was terrible and insultingly overpriced - the profit margins they are generating by selling undercooked, slopped together share plates is just plain rude. All staff seemed to me underaged and untrained....We waited over 20 minutes to be served drinks and had to ask multiple times for water. Well over 200 people on site; loud, crowded and unpleasant. The outside dining area stank of sewage, we had to ask to move as the smell was making it impossible to eat. I paid my bill in full at the end of the lunch, but after leaving they later realised they had undercharged me. Their response was to aggressively harass me via email and accuse me of being a thief and threaten to sue me! Absolutely wild. This whole experience has left me shaken. Please, please go anywhere in Yarra Valley other than here! 🤢More

We had been to Zonzo a few times. This experience was not great as we were placed on the end of a table and felt like we were in a revolving door as we tried to celebrate our daughters birthday. The food was fine but...the quality of table service was poor. It looked like the entire floor had work experience kids. Wanted to take our plates before we had finished and then another course were our plates were not removed after we had finished the main course. The pouring of wine was not professional and Zonzo has lost its polish….as I fear the commercialisation of what was a great product is now second rate. If the quality reduces…..then so should the prices charged. A small tip to the owners…..a business survives on quality as well as quantity…unfortunately this experience was not good. I would recommend consideration of other wineries or Red Hill as alternatives as Zonzo Estate has certainly lost its shine. Won’t be back and will not be recommending unfortunately.More

Zonzo Estate is just out of the township of Yarra Glen, the heart of the Yarra Valley. Zonzo Estate serves traditional Italian cuisine, such as roast lamb and pizza. The vineyard is well-established and planted with Italian varietals, which make excellent food wines. "Scoperta" is...Italian for "discover." Verdecchio is a white Italian grape variety that originated in Central Italy. The wine has been crafted in the Yarra Valley to produce a wine with salty, citrus notes, with a crisp finish. Verdicchio has a surprisingly high alcohol content for a dry white. Verdicchio goes well with strongly-flavored Italian food.More

This restaurant and winery is situated in the scenic Yarra Valley. Zonzo's wines are well-known for their quality. The diverse menu is Mediterranean style, including things such as pizzas. The restaurant is well set up, it's a great place to sample the fruit of the...vine. Zonzo is in the heart of the Yarra Valley, it's around an hour's drive from Melbourne.More

Had not been to the Zonzo since just after the Traintrack evolved into Zonzo Estate. eg quite a few years. Booked ad hoc on a Sunday afternoon and the lady on the phone was most helpful. We got an outside table on a cool but...comfortable afternoon and the Zonzo was chockers with a motorcycle 'convention' and a wedding party (maybe 2) in addition to us 'pedestrians' not associated with either. Had a bottle of their cab sav that was a bit overpriced (comparatively with long and wide personal experiences) but excellent so written off as a tip to the 'owner'. The wait staff were very friendly, attentive, and responsive but the system was disorganised informing them what went to which table but they got it done. 3 pizzas, meatballs, a calzone, and coffees were all excellent and while not budget priced it was good value for money - eg yum. The biggest problem on the afternoon was their car park was 100% full and with narrow spaces between rows (I think one SUV may have gotten trapped trying to navigate through it!) with nowhere obvious to park; were told we could park on the verge along the exit road, a short walk. With a bit better coordination between orders and where they went in the hands of the servers it would have been a solid 5. All in all an enjoyable stop. The car park problem might have been a one off due to the crowd of the day, but something management should consider, eg lines in the car park and adding 'overflow' signage (we rang from the car to ask).More

I had a wonderful lunch at Zonzo. After visiting Tarrawarra Museum of Art with my Mum, we were looking for somewhere for lunch. Zonzo was one of the only places open, so Zonzo it was. It was a super hot day in the Yarra Valley,...so we definitely chose indoor dining, and even then, the air con was struggling. Any discomfort was forgotten when the food and wine arrived. Wood fired sardines, pizza, gnocchi and cannoli, all were delicious. My Pecorino wine was an excellent choice for a hot day. I will definitely be back. A wonderful way to experience the best of the Yarra Valley.More

Visited for a Saturday lunch and had the set menu priced at $75 per person. The food was good and there was plenty of it. The service was a bit disjointed but overall a nice experience.

Our daughter had her wedding at Zonzo Estate. It was joyous occasion; nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The food was ample. Following the entrée, we had pizza, we had roast lamb specially reared for occasion. The estate's own produced red wine, which...accompanied the wedding breakfast, was delightful. In all, it is an occasion we will all remember for many years to come.More

Zonzo Estate presents a fantastic combination of food and wine. The restaurant serves Mediterranean-influenced food, including pizzas, accompanied by high-class estate-grown wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. By the way, if you like your hops, you can also get a locally brewed beer.

Beautiful spaces and extraordinary surroundings made us feel like we were living a wonderful life. However the rushed service made us feel like we were on borrowed time. The banquet courses were brought out too quickly. Nothing worse than been given your main meal when...you were still in the middle of your entree. Staff need to know that patrons can still savour and enjoy their experience in a 2 hour sit... not 1 hour.More

We were fortunate to have master chef Shane Delia working in conjunction with the staff at Zonzo Estate to plan our menu. We had seafood for starters, with cocktails, followed by pizza. The main course was slow cooked roast lamb, with roasted root vegetables; it...was delicious, accompanied by estate-grown red wine. We must congratulate Chef Shane and the crew at Zonzo for providing a truly memorable meal.More

I had an olive oil base pizza. There was 4 pieces of buffalo mozzarella and 5 pieces of meat sprinkled with some olive oil. It was dry and tasteless. Way overpriced. I had to ask for more olive oil. Very disappointed. The surroundings are beautiful...and the wine is good but I will not be going back.More
