Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An hour’s drive before arriving at Yering Station enjoying the lush green hills and valleys along the way. We were lucky a table by the window was just available for a 1pm reservation. We decided on a two course lunch option considering a shared dessert if needed. The abrolhos scallops were excellent as was the salmon & eggplant. Wagyu eye fillet was cooked perfectly. The 2018 Yering Station Marsanne Viognier went well with the salmon as did 2017 Yering Station Chardonnay with the Waghu (the freedom of not conforming). Being satiated we were happy with just coffees. Have been coming to Yering Station Restaurant for 10 years - and the food is consistently very good , though we miss the creative displays of edible deliciousness from past years - possibly restrictions due to Covid has necessitated a more streamlined straightforward menu offering. I am glad I have kept photos of colour creative edible memories from past years. Service was welcoming and attentive and we enjoyed walking the lovely grounds noting interesting pieces of modern sculpture pieces as we meandered towards the cellar shop.

Having been released from our CoVid lockdown, we were keen to explore and have a meal at Yering Station. Given ongoing restrictions, the tables were distanced, and service divided into 2 sittings. We had a delightful lunch enjoying the views over the Yarra Valley to the Great Dividing Range while we partook of the 3 course menu. Each dish of each course could not be faulted, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the experience.

Booked a late Sunday lunch here and everything was spot on. Views are spectacular, service, food and beverages matched the location and overall ambiance. Whilst it was all great, pricing was a little on the high side with $200 for 2 guests for a 2 course meal and one drink and a coffee. Sides were extra as is the steak if selected. Super easy parking and an easy drive from the CBD and the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne

No More Bread For You! Today, four of us went for a $75 two-course lunch each, ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparkling water - >AUD$360. We were given half a slice of bread each, so when the waiter asked us how was everything during our mains, I requested, “very good thanks! Can I have more bread please?” He said he would check, then he came back and said to me, “Sorry, no more bread for you,” We could all see the 2 loaves of bread sitting at the glass window of the kitchen. I instantly felt like the beggar orphan Oliver! Left a very bad taste. I provided the following feedback to the manager,” It is very mean spirited of Yering Station that we cannot have more bread, and the way the waiter saying “Mo more bread for you” made me felt like I am begging for bread.” She did apologise and said that the chef made the bread himself, and there is a strict 1 serving per customer. Please note that the 1 serving size is half a slice of bread. Hence, if you go to Yering Station, please do not request for more bread.

Yering Station’s restaurant is a wonderful, architect-designed glass and steel space, the size of a small warehouse. It’s well-designed to take in the view of the farmland, and the food and service more than matches the wonderful setting. There’s plenty of parking right out front, a lovely short walk through landscaped gardens up to the entrance, and a small, but great value menu of 2 or 3 courses of excellent food. Lovely food, great service, nice wine – the perfect weekend lunch, and just an hour outside the city.

My friend and I shared a gorgeous lunch here as a special treat. She enjoyed the quail and barramundi courses while I settled for the duck and choc mousse. We accompanied our meals with glasses of rose and pinot noir. The food was excellent and the service was both friendly and efficient. One of their staff even took the time to take some photos for us before we left. We also enjoyed the view out over the rolling hills beyond the terrace. The surroundings were elegant and beautiful. While this is more than I would usually pay for lunch, it was a special occasion and it was worth it.

The setting is beautiful, the food delicious and the staff attentive and friendly. We had barramundi and duck which was plated attractively and had creative, fresh flavour combinations that worked very well. Similarly the panna cotta and pavlova were lovely. It's a pleasure to have had such a satisfying dining experience and very well priced for what it offers..

Lunch on a bright Sunday. Overlooking Yarra River flood plain with views to the start of the hills, a lovely vista to enjoy. Menu is fixed price $75 for two courses and $90 for three, 10% surcharge Sunday. Starters were pork belly and crab filled zucchini flowers. Both were exceptional. Although I think my zucchini flowers won. Mains were duck and chicken. My partner said the duck breast was a little tough.my chicken was good. Wine was delicious, a glass of brut rose to start and a Pinot Noir over our meal. It appears that the new normal for Yarra Valley restaurants is fixed price and defined sessions.

The photos tell the story … this place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I went for lunch in a Monday and the restaurant was reasonably busy. The staff were amazing and the food, out of this world! My husband and I shared an entree of duck and then he had the fish of the day (King Dory) which just keyed in your mouth. I had the lamb rack which was cooked to perfection. We shared a desert of pan a cotta which was to die for. We had wines by the glass which we selected with help from the staff and they were all fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a lazy, long lunch.

The Wine Bar Restaurant @ Yering Station is an annex to this historic winery, the oldest in Victoria. If you desire, you can have your group installed in the private dining room. If the weather is fine, you can dine outdoors. Produce is sourced from local farmers, mainly small growers. The view of the Yarra Ranges is magnificent. Prices are reasonable. Naturally, you can accompany your meal with fine estate-grown wine.

After having a wine tasting I dined at the restaurant. We started with the Prawn filled Zuchini Flower. I thought this dish was a little bland and lacking flavour. For mains my wife had the lamb chop and lamb shoulder. She didnt really enjoy the lamd shoulder as it was more pulled lamb. I had the eye fillet which I found quite good. A bit of a mixed bag really. View was quite nice from our window table.

Absolutely fabulous food and service in a great room with amazing views. The laksa starter was superb and the lamb shank with sides equally amazing. Accompanied with Yering’s 2021 Pinot Noir and followed with the melt in the mouth friand was an amazing overall experience for our anniversary lunch. We’ve been here a few times and it’s always good but yesterday’s meal was knockout. Do yourself a favour and check this place out!

Had a three course meal and a bottle of wine. Great views out of the large picture windows and the service was pretty good. The food was good, but not of a 'wow' quality that justifies the prices. Entrée of scallop and prosciutto was very good though.

Yering Station is one of the oldest properties in the Yarra Valley. It's around an hour by car from central Melbbourne. The wine is excellent, as is the food. It's a stand-out restaurant in an area that does not lack for competition. I have been to Yering Station many times, it never disappoints.
