Thai menus usually follow a similar pattern and that's fine. Some restaurants don't get the flavour balance right and it can be bland. Not so with Grace's Place. We enjoyed both the entrees of dumplings and fish cakes and the mains of a seafood stir fry and a pork red curry. The red curry sauce had plenty of paste flavour and was quite creamy, as opposed to some places where you get a lot of coconut cream and not much of the paste. The seafood stir fry with lemongrass and garlic had a particularly nice sauce. I would say all dishes were well sized and did not skimp on seafood or meat. Veges in both dishes were perfectly cooked, not stewed. The kitchen was under pressure the night we were there due to the lifting of the Melbourne travel bans but the owner and the wait staff were explained the issues. The food was worth the wait. Prices are fair value. The building itself clearly has history and is a very pleasant space to be in. Recommended. Very enjoyable.

The place is cosy and staff was friendly. You may need to book in advance especially if it's busy tourism period. We were offered wines but we are not wine drinkers. There is bar at front with lots of alcohol types to choose from. We ordered stir fried vegetables and beef. The food is delicious. We highly recommend this place.

Grace's Place was recommended by our accommodation provider and we were so pleased we listened. The meals we had were just as good, if not better than any Thai meals we have had in "the big smoke". We appreciated the owners' quirky sense of humour, we weren't fazed by the fact that there was no wine list as we were told what was available - "2 reds, one cheap and one $1 dearer". That was all we needed to know and we ordered accordingly. Be warned this restaurant accepts cash only, which also isn't a problem as there is an atm nearby. Grace's Place is well worth a visit and probably a good idea to make a reservation.

We started with curry puffs which were very oily and one was unthawed in the middle. My husband had beef curry. The rice was undercooked and the meal tasted of packet sauces. I had vegetarian pad Thai. The noodles were overcooked and it was so oily I had to leave most of it. Again, it tasted of packet sauces. When I went to the toilet there was only 1 towel for all patrons to share. There was no wine list which meant you didn't know the price of the wines or exactly what you were ordering. Some people we spoke to seemed to enjoy their meals, but I just don't understand how this place has so many good reviews.

There were 15 of us in the region for a cycling tour and our organiser had arranged our booking and confirmed it the week before. So we were surprised when we arrived to find the host seemingly unaware of our booking. So we stood around for several minutes while they organised group table for us. After that we were soon seated and being advised that with our number we would be served a five course banquet at a very reasonable price. Drinks were ordered by us at the bar, paid for in cash and then handed to us to take back to the table. The first course was plates of spring rolls, fried chicken pieces and other typical entrees while the plates of various Thai dishes such as a green curry chicken were served until we were full. Desserts and coffees were not an option for us and we were again required to pay our meal bill in cash and the we were soon back on the road to Beechworth.

When I first ate here many years ago the food was fantastic .However it seems to be relying on the goodwill of the locals to keep coming back, while the standard of food has dropped considerably . For instance my last meal there had none of the little added bits of sesame seeds on the rice, no coriander garnish, large chunky , limited variety of vegetables, and definitely a lot smaller size. Tasty enough, but nothing special. While the locals, if not the visitors, will forgive Alistair for his strange ways, we would still like to have a drinks list that shows the price, as you just get told a price, ( cash only ), at the end of the night. Also not particularly covid safe when the toilets have one towel for all patrons.

The restaurant was empty. The owner asked if we would do take out so staff weren’t hanging about to serve 1 table to which we agreed. Whilst we were waiting for the order the owner kindly showed us around the interesting venue with many nooks and crannies. Would love to have seen the place when full as the atmosphere must be amazing. The food was still piping hot when we reached our cottage 20 minutes later and was certainly worth waiting for. Spring rolls were fresh and full of tasty vegetables. Mains very absolutely delicious. Massaman beef curry had a good chilli kick and meat was so tender. Pad Thai was yum. Ingredients so fresh. Highly recommend the food.

What a meal! We had the Roti, Laksa with tofu, Red curry with pork, Phad see yu chicken and Thai Beef salad. Couldn’t fault a thing, absolutely delicious and everything so fresh. I’ve eaten my fair share of Thai and I can honestly say it was right up there with the best I’ve had. And in Yack of all places! Highly recommended.

Grace's has a very good Thai chef who somehow manages to get her beautiful food to the table in good time despite the numbers. In other respects this is very country --- like village France: "We don't do plastic" and if you want wine (no wine list) talk about it to the maitre d' ( the old guy in a felt shirt and cap). Obviously has a strong local clientele and I hope they don't change a thing

Restaurant opposite our accommodation and recommended by the motor inn staff. Very busy with many dining in and plenty of take away. No wine list but the red and white wines we had were of a good quality and reasonable price.

I was taken there by a good friend who recommended it. He said the food was very good. It certainly was. I had the vegetable massaman curry and I loved it. Heaps of flavour and too much for me to eat it all. I would certainly go back there again

Rang to book and were told ‘We might be able to squeeze you in.’ Arrived to find restaurant was nowhere near full. Waited about 10 minutes before being given the menu. Waiter did apologise saying, ‘Sorry I forgot about you.’ I was on my way to the rest room when the waiter came out of the kitchen and pushed past me. I asked if vegetarian food was also vegan. The waiter said he thought it was, but didn’t offer to make sure. The food was the worst I’ve had. My partner agreed.

Decided on Grace's Place having eaten at the only hotel in town and Grace's is the only other takeaway spot. Only open Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun so plan carefully. There is little to no info on the website and no menu on he window to checkout prior, shop doesn't look like a restaurant. ONLY CASH, there is an ATM very near unfortunately NOT working the night we were there. Had to do EFT transfer not without difficulty. Food was good, give it a go, but be prepared.
