Friendly, helpful staff were great with our toddler. Desserts looked delicious but they were booked out when we wanted to come back for dinner (just had lunch there). Lovely old building.

We went to the star for dinner. They snake all their own meats and the share platters were great value and delicious! Sampled some of the two pot local beers and listened to the local Julie’s jam session in the bar! It was a great...More

I like a pub where, when you ask for veg. with your meal, you actually get great veg. -Pumpkin, sweet potato, cauliflower and wilted spinach and Broc. -not cooked to death but well cooked and crunchy. My veg came with chips and a 400gm porterhouse...More

Great staff amazingly yummy meal, try blackened salmon. In the town of Yackandandah which is a delightful historic town. Stay at Yackandandah motel for a delightful experience.

We have been to the Star three times now. It is a nice country pub with a history of being robbed by Ned Kelly. Avoid visiting on public holidays as they tend to be understaffed resulting in a very long wait to order food &...More

We had the Sunday roast, 5 different meats and vegetables, $25 per person. Vegetables were cold and not enough, roast meats good but also cold. Served on a wooden plate, rustic presentation but personally don’t like wooden plates. Beverage’s very expensive.

Busy place when we were there. Meals were average. Service ok. Reasonably priced. Desserts were disappointing. Got the cream brûlée which was not set but they didn’t charge for them when we complained.

We arrived just before the kitchen closed but that was not a problem. Waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. As for the food it was excellent I ordered an entree size and couldn’t eat it all- lamb ribs. My husband had the lunchtime steak (...More
