After a number of years absence we returned to this establishment and were very pleased we did.
The menu was extensive however two courses would have sufficed for each of us. The Pork Belly was exquisite and was completed by a marvellous Riesling from Polish Hills in the Clare Valley in South Australia.
Staff were very attendant without being overbearing rather they were very helpful

For the point of history , ill state that this review is written during a time of covid pandemic, lockdown, curfew and no restaurant dining. That being said it was my wife's birthday, and I do try to do something special. Loquat Sorrento offers a lo/no contact takeaway menu , a choice of three courses with three or so variations per course each Friday and Saturday night. Not so easy to explain, harder still to organise I would imagine. My phone call to order was answered pleasantly , and efficiently, nothing was left to guess, a great start. Collection was a a set time with 10 minutes between guests, to avoid contact. We started with Paul's smoked salmon, 8 generous slices, gravlax like on the sides, and a clearly discernible lovely smoke smell. A great start, we had our house baked hot bread and cultured butter with this. Lip smacking. Then to the mains. Greats sized serves of genuine house made gnocci in a rich creamy mushroom sauce, just too good. Also a duck pasta in a beautiful sauce, generous serve plenty of duck and both mains had remained great serving temperature. We had with these a very creative and tasty salad of roquette, cashews, hard cheese, and a honey mustard dressing.
Are you hungry yet, we were, and this was nailing it. Needed a break before out sweets? Date and nut pudding with a butter scotch sauce needed 30 seconds in the microwave, vanilla ice cream on the side and a better than New York (they over rate everything) cheesecake with a Berry coulis. We also bought three cocktails with this , pick your own, they are a generous serve and no light hand with the liquor.
This is a 10/10 from us , we will be back. Dine in , iso takeaway , anything

Loads of positives for this restaurant. It is high end dining and comes with high end prices but you get what you pay for. The food was delicious. For entree, the scallops were wonderful. I had the terrine which was ok but I don’t think I’d order again. The mains of duck and pork were beautiful and you must leave room in your ‘dessert compartment’. The chocolate fondant and date and walnut pudding were amazing. I’d go back just for the desserts.
I didn’t love the ‘ambience’. It looks like a converted house and with very dim lighting, it’s a bit dark and dingy. I like to be able to see.
Service was good mostly with some minor exceptions. You are rushed through the meal a bit as they aim for multiple sittings. This is understandable in the current COVID19 climate and they are transparent about it.

The number 1 rating was also reassuring but unfortunately I don't think it deserves this rating from our visit. The bread was good. One of our party had the scallops for entre and clearly over cooked. I had the pork belly for main and found good/nice presentation. The girls had the beef cheeks for mains, lacked flavor and texture. Liked the vibe of the dining room. The Paringa 17 pinot was smart. We found the better dining was in the vineyard restaurants.

Three of us dined here last Friday.Received a warm welcome from our waitress Megan who was a true professional.
Restaurant I think is a converted cottage, tables are set nicely apart and there is a nice ambience to the place.
We had entrees of: Zucchini flower with spinach and ricotta, miso butter baked scallops with fennel and coriander and two serves of cauliflower and blue cheese croquettes with white beans and mayo, all pronounced very good.
Mains were Barramundi fillets with peas ,rice, sage and smoked tomato butter.Ocean trout with potato, quinoa, kale and saffron butter, again very good.
Once again full marks to the charming Megan.

I had the duck which was awesome. Our party all had scallop entree, other mains enjoyed were the Trevally, pork belly and salmon. Everyone was happy. Service was spot on. First class restaurant, highly recommended.

We had been planning to have a big Valentines dinner out but due to our recent lockdown there was a change in plans. Thanks to Loquat for coming to the rescue. Picked up the takeout dinner with starters of Pacific oysters, pork & pistachio terrine and Paul’s cured salmon. Main was confit duck with duck & mushroom sausage, rocket & walnut salad followed by date and walnut pudding. Thanks to Tracy, Paul and the crew for a sensational dinner. This is a ‘must visit’ if on the peninsula.

We read the reviews online and were expecting something great. Instead we had food that was average at best (overcooked, dry scallops for entree) and was the type of food I could easily cook myself at home, and I’m not a chef. Friendly staff but overpriced and very ordinary food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Had takeout while in lockdown this Saturday. It was delicious. We had the slow cooked lamb which was so tender. The vegetables were great. Delicious potatoes and pumpkin. The greens were perfectly cooked. The orange jus was great. The servings were very generous and we even had leftovers. Lovely to have a break from cooking. Highly recommend.

We wanted a nice dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and this place was lovely. Great vibe, with all the Stones memorabilia around the walls, and very cool looking bar with a lava lamp! The food was delicious - I especially liked the twice cooked souffle with house style waldorf salad. My partner always chooses duck when we go out, and he enjoyed the duck confit on this menu. They have a good cocktail list and a select menu of mostly local wines. The staff were friendly and efficient and we would definitely go here again.

What a little gem! My husband and I had dinner here on our 4 year anniversary as a splurge as I love fine dining!
The way the menu works is you need to pick to have either 2 or 3 courses. We picked the 3 courses. I had the cauliflower crockets, squid ink pasta and the lemon cheesecake. My gosh absolutely delicious! Especially the desert and entree. Even the bread and olives were amazing!
My husband also thoroughly enjoyed his main of the beef! And he loved his affogato dessert!
The service was great. The only odd part was at the start of the night when the restaurant was quite empty we were sat right next to another couple which is always a bit awkward. Once they left and the restaurant got busier and louder it was perfect.
Overall would definitely recommend!

Returned for our annual visit over the holidays for dinner with family. I opted for 3 courses of smoked salmon, beef cheek & choc/orange pannacotta along with an apple martini cocktail. All the food was delicious & well presented. Service very welcoming & friendly. Love coming here, still the best fine dining restaurant in Sorrento.

This small, quaint restaurant has spectacular food and wine. Their fixed price is beyond reasonable and there are many options! The staff are gracious and helpful. Don’t miss this one. They may not gave a sea view, but their food is so much better than the ocean view places. Besides, their decor is fun and the atmosphere is warm!

This was the second time we have been to Loquat. Menu is fresh, amazing flavours. I was well looked after with a gluten free diet and did not feel I missed out on anything. Great attention to our comfort
We look forward to our next trip to Sorrento and meal at Loquat
Thank you
