Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunningly located on the foreshore at Sorrento beach; invitingly decorated in a blue and white, beach theme. The venue management and staff could not have been more accommodating. And then there’s the food: delicious, seasonal, generous modern Australian. PERFECTION

It seems to be the case that this restaurant relies heavily on it’s location and efficient and friendly young staff to disguise the less than satisfactory culinary offerings. Limited choice fixed price menus offering 2 course s for $65 may be an efficient way to...conduct your business but it still has to represent value and show some chefing skills for that price. Sadly this terrific location and pleasant room are let down by the food. No place on the water should be serving food which is pedestrian, to be polite. 8 thin rings of calamari on a “salad” comprised mostly of rocket and far too much dressing was a poor start. Describing the mussels in the tagliatelle as “local” may have been accurate but the 3 prawns and 3 scallops in the under cooked packet pasta were obviously defrosted. Bland is being kind. However the grilled barramundi on a cauliflower purée flavoured with keens curry powder ( which isn’t mentioned as a flavour on the menu description of the dish) was something that was tempting to send back to the kitchen. Not to be redone but just as a complaint as to it’s bizarre taste. I suspect the fact we were only the third table for a Friday lunch sitting says enough about its reputation with the locals. With the number of terrific winery restaurants nearly I can see why few people bother. Try somewhere else.More

On a freezing cold Tuesday Night, we ventured out to the Baths for dinner during Taste Sorrento. What a delicious treat! The gnocchi was sensational and the fish and chips exceeded all expectations. Delicious.. chef Mark thank you so much!

The staff were all so nice and the restaurant had speedy service. A big thanks to our waitress and the chef who were so accommodating to even make up an off-the-menu vegan mushroom risotto which was delicious! My parents adored the prawn salad! would definitely...recommend :)More

Over priced and underwhelming. This was our second time to this venue and it will be our last. After wandering around Sorrento after our meal, looks like there are better places to eat.

Located right next to Port Philip Bay, the views are wonderful. The food, wine & service are of a good standard. Prices are perhaps a little on the high side.

Went to The Baths restaurant for my birthday lunch. Got there 12 minutes before opening time & asked a male worker if we could go inside & wait. The waitress greeting us said Next time make a reservation & don’t come in early. We had...to wait 58 minutes for our main course while watching 4 other tables be served right away. Our waitress never came to our table sent a wait guy over with our food. Terrible service by a surly waitress..,More

Right on the beach with superb ambience and views across the bay to Sorrento ferry docking point..food is very good but offered as a price fix combination of 2 courses, which is fine unless you don’t need the extra.

We played a late afternoon round of golf at The Dunes at Rye on the Mornington Peninsula Jan 2. Having tried and failed to reach Sorrento New Years Day due to the traffic we could see the roads were clear. So we headed off to...Sorrento with ease after our round of golf. We spotted The Baths as we entered the town and it looked very inviting. We called in and despite being in our golf gear we were warmly greeted by John and he fitted us in with a nice table, Alisha our server was friendly but so professional. Drinks and water arrived promptly. There was a two course menu for 65Aud. Both starters were very good. One Italian ham and my prawn salad had a Thai twist and was delicious. My husbands seafood linguine had a lot to live up to as he had some in Melbourne on the banks of the Yarra. The seafood was excellent and the linguine not quite as good as the wow one in Melbourne but still very food. As for me I chose the Rockling and chips. Wow it was simply delicious. The fish white as snow. The batter as light and crispy as possible. The tartar sauce scrummy. Sadly no room for a pudding. The setting is wonderful right on the beach and pier. The sun peeked out from the clouds and lit up the boats on the water. From an evening that was totally unplanned The Baths turned up Trumps! Thank you! Martin and JulieMore
