Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After enjoying a swim with the seals, I was looking for a nice restaurant to have late lunch / early dinner, to get my energy back, while still enjoying the sea There are several restaurants offering a sea view but Itali.co looked like the best...to me. And I'm glad I chose it! First the location then, right in front of the sea, very near the ferry terminal and where the boats for the dolphin and seal swim tours start from / finish at. So, not only convenient, but great for the views Then the staff, lots of them, and welcoming & efficient ones, good point there too Lots and lots of seats, inside and outside, with different sections The style is nice too And the last but not the least, the foodddd They have antipasti, salads, pasta, risotto, pizza, "del mare", desserts... Alcohol wise, they have lots of wines (red, rose, white, and sparkling even), on top of cocktails and beers I personally went for apple juice as I don't drink alcohol And I got arancini, a mixed selection, bolognese which is the most famous one in general I believe, but also mushroom & pesto. Bolognese was good as expected, but I must say the mushroom & pesto one was just wow, a first for me, but definitely not the last, I have to say now every time I'll see that offered I'll be well tempted to go for it again And then as a main I had kingfish carpaccio, which came in beautiful fashion, and was very tasty too Finally, I had a mousse, of dark chocolate and hazelnut, topped with hazelnuts. First time I have a mouse mixing chocolate and hazelnut, and wow, what a great move, loved loved it (I like chocolate mousse but usually after a few bites I start to feel the chocolate to be too strong, here it was just prefect!) In short: highly recommend!More

Unfortunately, the whole family was disappointed. We booked weeks in advance as the menu looked amazing. We went to this restaurant for my Nana's 92nd birthday; but they couldn't cater for her. Being lactose intolerant, the choices were VERY limited. In the past, kitchens have...been able to accommodate myself and Nana. The waiting staff were SO RUDE! Blonde lady kept rolling her eyes at us, and looked miserable. For the price, the food was not worth it. The food was not very tasty, and was very expensive. Will never be back, would rather go to a Fish & Chip shop.More

Amazing food and great service. We had the bruschetta burata for starter. Have never had so fresh before. Main was marinara and calamari both amazing. Only wish we didn't live so far away because would be here every week!

This is the first time eating at Italico and we were mot disappointed. My husband had the Veal Scaloppine and I had the Gnocchi Sorrentini...with Parmesan cheese. Both dishes were delicious, the service and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food we had at Italico was pretty good: We had seafood spaghetti, calamari and Penne Bolognaise. A bit more attention with the plating would have been nice though - there were sauce splashes all over the plate. Our waitress was very friendly, some of...the other younger waiters were less attentive (ie didn't ask for more water or another glass of wine) You pay a bit extra for dining in Sorrento, but overall a pretty good experienceMore

I requested to modify my meal slightly to remove potatoes and instead add vegetables to accomodate my dietary requirements but the kitchen were not willing to do this when it was a simple request. We also waited over 45 minutes for our mains to arrive...for 3 pieces of little fish and potatoes on the plate. Way too expensive for what I received on the plate and the service was certainly not there. We provided feedback to the manager on duty and just dismissed what we had to say. I will not be going back anytime soon.More

A group of 6 of us booked Italico for dinner and experienced a disappointing evening. Although the staff overall were very good two of our group were served substandard meals of which one was begrudgingly refunded. This restaurant has enjoyed an excellent reputation in he...past so it was disappointing to have this situation arrive. At no time did management approach our group to discus the issuesMore

We stepped off the ferry and walked over to the restaurant without a booking. We were a group of 10 and the staff were fantastic at accommodating us. We had a beautiful table that overlooked the bay and it was divine. The food was beautiful...with lovely fresh ingredients and great Italian flavours. The wood fired pizza was worth the ferry over the bay! Exceptional food, exceptional wine menu and exceptional staff. Thank you!More

With limited options in Sorrento on a Tuesday night, we thought that a good Italian restaurant would be wonderful. We ordered 2 penne pasta dishes (one was the waiter’s recommendation). Within a few mouthfuls, we were both bitterly disappointed & when we tried each others,...we both agreed they were VERY average and definitely not enjoyable. We took one back as it was just bland and tasted terrible. The staff offered a replacement, but having tried the other meal (which was not much better), we decided not to try another. Having sent one meal back and only finished 1/2 of the other we decided to leave. The staff were apologetic, but still charged for one meal. I’d look for somewhere else in the future…..The Pinot Noir was enjoyable.More

I would recommend booking for dinner if wanting to sit inside. We sat outside as we hadn’t booked but it was a nice evening, it got a little chilly towards the end of a meal but didn’t mind.QR code menu and ordering system which was...easy enough to use and we paid as we ordered which was convenient. Still a part of me did want that waiter service though. All wait staff were quick polite and friendly though. Food was lovely and arrived quickly after we ordered. Both me and my husband had a stone baked pizza which were tasty, hot and fresh. The cocktails were really good (better than the Intercontinental!). Would go there again but will book ahead next time.More

The food is good. Again its probably locally well regarded. Very busy. But does feel a little complacent to from a service perspective. They are good and they know it.

Nice pizza but over priced and disappointed to hear the same excuse as last summer - “sorry the air con is broken down”. Not good enough.

Our family group ordered their meals 4 minutes apart. The first order arrived swiftly, the second (for 3 pizzas) took over an hour to arrive. What really annoyed us was that we watched many pizza take away orderers arrive and leave while we were waiting....The kitchen seems to have its priorities very wrong. Never again.More
