Great stop off on the way to Philip Island. At midday each day they feed the pelicans on the beach. The lady who feeds the pelicans gives a great 15 minute talk. Stingrays came to the beach as well. We ate at the Fisherman’s coop afterwards. Food cooked to order and great quality. Well worth a stop off. Once on the island stop off at the visitors centre for more great tips.

This is a very good spot if you are looking for fresh cooked fish. Our fish was fresh and moist and very tasty. The scallops had that real salty taste, and even the potato cakes for fine. The chips, however, are pretty ordinary, being small and slightly greasy
Premises are well appointed and tables are available for eating, or takeaway
if looking for fresh fish, this is the place to go

Thankyou for your review 🤩
We use fresh scallops and fish caught from our very own boats here in San Remo, fresh quality seafood to make the best fish & chips!

I am no stranger to fishermans coops and a good fish and chips. Service was fast on this mid week day. We were given an electronic buzzer so we could walk down the jetty while waiting. Price was reasonable, around $25 for 2 fish ( selection of fish) chips, potato cakes, one soft drink and sauce. ( Sauce was missing from order and as we drove a little way to a different table we had to do without). We chose to drive a hundred yards or so along the beachfront to a table with a lovely view of the water. Very sunny and not too windy. suggest you remember a hat and sunglasses, even later in the afternoon, early evening. Despite the missing sauce would highly recommend. Very good quality. Very fresh fish. Fish maybe just a touch greasy but still very good. Lemon supplied.

Hello, I cannot begin to express how disappointed our family was with your fish & chips. We came in on the 11th Feb and ordered a Family Pack & a twin pack at 6.57pm. It was very busy, we were told in would be a twenty-minute wait, it was a 40-minute wait. We were really looking forward to your great fish & chips as we have them every year when we visit Phillip Island. When we collected our order, we were very disappointed to find that the fish was over cooked, close to burnt that the chips were average but very annoyed that we did not get our 6off panko calamari rings, 6off fish bites or lemon. we paid $74.00 dollars for 4off overcooked fish, 6off potato cakes and very average chips. Our friends did receive their whole family pack, but the fish bites & calamari were overcooked that much that they could not eat or chew them. We will be looking at alternative takeaway next time we visit. We also noted while waiting that several other customers experienced long waits/ delays or were not even contacted when their order was ready. You are not, “The freshest local seafood, the best fish & chips in town”.
At least the seagulls got to have a huge feed!

Please Don t believe the photos on their website, you would be very disappointed with what they give you .We feel Totally Ripped off .My son and I gave most of it to the birds. After purchasing fish & chips here for the 7th time, in the hope they had improved, unfortunately they continue to produce some of the worst seafood I have had the misfortune to eat. Dry, overcooked fish in thick batter; oysters with glutinous juices suggesting they were opened quite a while ago; scallops so small they probably should have been left in the ocean. They say everything is freshly caught so I'm not sure what they do to it later to make it appear the opposite- such a disappointment for an enterprise that should be able to do better!

It is situated right next to the jetty and has lovely views of the bay. While very busy and quite hard at peak times to get a table the sea food was delicious. Best to get take away and find a nice stop on the foreshore lawns to enjoy your meal.

It doesn't get any fresher than this!
The boat is just a few meters away.
We had half a lobster (pre-cooked).
And a deep-fried "gummy flake" from the Brass Strait, with fries.
Everything was super fresh, very tasty and there was plenty of it.
Thank you very much, it tasted very good.

Our crayfish are cooked fresh here on premises, so they are ready to eat straight from the display 🤤

We ordered fish and chips for one. Chips were cold and fish was overcooked and dry. The other order was piece chilli crumbed fish: it was dry and over cooked, brown on the outside! Inedible. The only thing which was edible was the two potato cakes. Give this place a miss! Has deteriorated over the years

I was totally surprised. I got fish and chips here for the family. Just got grilled fish, chips and a few potato cakes. Everything was really fresh, the chips were not oily, but crunchy and Crisp. The whole meal was fantastic. So San Remo Co-op is the best fish and chips I’ve had, hands down.

Fantastic food and service. Large school/circus group (16 hungry, tired teenage acrobats) on an interstate excursion, pre-order was accepted super efficiently, fish & chips were fresh, hot, delicious, on-time and no fuss. Ordered ten “twin packs” (some grilled, some battered, with calamari & excellent chips), plus some extra fish bites. 100% recommended.

In choosing a lunch spot during our short stay on Philip Island, this option cropped up and based on a good location at the water, fishing boats etc… we figured this had to be the spot.
Not only were we not disappointed, we were blown away. Coming from a fishing port ourselves, knowing our fish and chips, that we could actually be so impressed is saying something!!
We had a twin pack. Kept it simple. Everything from portion sizes to quality of fish etc just outstanding.
Add the location to this potent fish n chipability…. You’ve found heaven.

The hardy San Remo fishermen go out to sea early in the morning, so if you want some sea-fresh fish don't be too late. The catch depends on the day, but it's always fresh from the turbulent waters of Bass Strait. We always drop in for the fish, the chips are good too. By the way, the youngsters love traditional fish and chips.

A pretty ordinary experience. The fried flake ( I doubt it was flake) was overcooked in excess batter. The Grilled flake was miserly and definitely overcooked being very dry
The chips were very yellow and appearance but tased OK. There are better local places for fish and chips,

Thankyou for taking time to leave a review.
Our Gummy Flake is caught from our fleet of boats here in San Remo, and is 100% local caught and fresh flake.
We're disappointed to read your order was overcooked, we would love the opportunity to serve you again when you're in the area next.

It's unusual these days to eat fresh Australian fish, straight out of the sea. The San Remo Fisherman's Co-Op serves fresh fish and chips. The fish is caught in the morning, you eat it for lunch. You can't get fresher than that.
