During Covid we NSW people can NOT get across the border to dine at the Pickled Sisters, but they have a great solution; They do Meals to Go! A couple of months ago we had dined in and thought the Duck Strudel was amazing .... on Wednesday we ordered it on line (with a few other meals) and it was delivered today. It was a quick 'finish off' in the oven and the meal was exactly the same as on the day a couple of months ago. Fantastic flavours and easy to 'finish off' even to get the presentation just as good as they do!

We’ve lunched here at least once a year over ten years and always have the platter for two. Disappointed this year. Not as generous with the portions or content on the plate. Won’t be having that again for $50. For one person yes but not 2.

We made a booking for lunch over the Australian Day weekend. There are tables and chairs set up outside along with unbreallas to protect you. It was still quite warm though but bearable. There is also seating inside but that is quite noisy. I had the roasted cauliflower with salad, and home made relish which was amazing. You can purchase their sauces, jams, relishes etc from inside. My husband garlic and herb chicken breast, along with a bowl of beautiful fat chips(which we souldn't of ordered as it was way too much for us to eat). We couldn't fit anything else in.

We had experienced Pickled Sisters at their old cafe, we became very excited to discover they had moved to the Main St in Rutherglen. Their cafe is bright & welcoming, the menu wants you to try everything! It’s varied, fairly small but mouthwateringly good. We shared a Cheese & Leek soufflé, we shared because we wanted to enjoy a dessert, my main of Pork Belly on sweet potato was divine, yummy and perfect. My partner had Monkfish wrapped in prosciutto sounded different but he said it was delicious, then came dessert, my Paris Brest with a slightly minty cream, plus a dessert of strawberry ice cream, pistachios and meringue was like a deconstructed baked Alaska minus the sponge! You know a restaurant is providing great food when every plate going back into the kitchen was basically wiped clean. The wine list is also very good, wines by the glass & if you do order a bottle of wine and are unable to finish it, you can take it away. Service is excellent, always smiling, happy to talk too, yet they are so busy, you must book ahead. Highly recommend Pickled Sisters Cafe it’s fabulous we hope to be back mid year and can’t wait to rebook. Good luck Marion and staff.

We came for lunch—we didn’t have a booking as we had been out on the rail trail on e-bikes and just happened onto this place. Luckily they could accommodate us—-I mention this because this place is worth a visit—so book! We sat outside. We had the tasting platter for two. They kindly agreed to substitute extra cheese as we didn’t want the salami. The platter was excellent. The pate was a standout, but the pickled spicy eggplant, sundried tomatoes, smoked trout and cheeses were all very good. We unfortunately didn’t have room for dessert!

Asalways lunch at Picled Sisters is fun and special . The charm and atmosphere and attentive service is great . The food is always tasty well served . Wines are very good inthis great wine region . The regional flare around the menu is showing a pride in local produce . Our Lunch on Sunday with a group of friends was a full of relaxed good times around wine and food . What a great region this is . The potential to create dishes around regional product is a great way to showcase to foof lovers .

This was the first time visiting the Pickled Sisters Cafe since it moved to main St. The ambience is gorgeous and has a wonderful welcoming feeling. We were seated in the outdoor area which is covered, has lovely fairy lights and is well heated. Great range of local wines and cocktail specials. I enjoyed a prosecco gin mimosa. I'm coeliac and while the menu isn't marked, nearly everything can be made gluten free. I enjoyed the slow cooked beef cheek and the meat just feel apart. It was incredibly well cooked and probably would have been paired better with a red but I was feeling festive with my cocktail. I would definitely love to return

We were looking forward to trying this well known Rutherglen restaurant. The decor is a bit like a cafe (which it also is), but quite nicely decorated. The tables are well set apart which is nice with no "crowding" of diners. Our waitress that evening, Sara was not friendly and looked highly irritated every time we asked any question at all about the food or sides. We ended up having a duck dish and a chicken dish. I must admit that both were very good indeed. It was irritating being charged for bread at the table ($6). Other restaurants we went to during our 4 days in the region included a bread roll at the table. Prices were on the high side, but similar to other places around that region. Would we go back if we were in Rutherglen again? Probably not. The food was very acceptable, but the whole dining experience was better at other venues.

Ate here for brunch over the weekend. Staff were lovely and accommodating and outdoor setting was pleasant. Food was nice but, sadly, my poached eggs were overcooked. I have had nicer brekkies but this is a decent place for the area.

We are a group of eight seniors. We’d visited Pickled Sisters several times when it was located at Cofield Winery at Wahgunyah. We ate in the courtyard today, a beautiful, rustic place, warm and cosy on a cold winter day. The food was amazing, the best tasting platters ever, succulent duck, beef cheeks and vegetable tagine. Angus the waiter was terrfic, professional, efficient and with a sense of humour to appeal to us oldies. Highly recommended.

Lunch for a friends birthday. Loved the decor it was really rustic. Service was great. My partner and my meal was disappointing. The lamb was really nice but such a tiny serve sitting on potato with a watery base that was unappealing.

As a local business owner (B&B) I’m always steering my guests into town for dining experiences. With this in mind I reserved a table online for myself and another B&B owner for a Sunday lunch. What a treat! Great food, friendly, food and wine knowledgeable staff, a really delightful lunch experience. No hesitation to recommend PSC to my friends and guests

A little hit and miss. Much better than The Other Place across the road. The duck confit was nice. Pickled orange and dressing very nice. The fennel was chopped a bit disorderly. The rosti was dry and hard like leather. Chicken breast nice. But it came with a huge half boiled potato. Leek sauce an oily fail. Over priced. $35 for lunch. Good wine list. Covid vacc checkin good. But wait staff with mask exemption shouldn’t stand so close to customers. Nice out door space but made us eat inside.

So happy that this was our choice for lunch in Rutherglen today. We shared an amazing platter for two, plus cod croquettes. The staff were wonderful and very helpful about the requirement for gluten free. Our wine choices matched the food and as it was a lovely atmosphere in the courtyard with heaters and good music in the background we lingered longer than planned leaving little time for wine tastings! We will come again when we are next in this great wine region of Victoria.

Had the absolute pleasure of dining at the Pickled Sisters on Friday night. Thanks firstly to Janine for looking after us so well, what a star! Food was delightful, all loved our chosen dish, as was the wine, and they whipped up a terrific margarita and champagne cocktail. There was an absolutely delicious cranberry relish served with our entree, if you're lucky enough to dine here (you'd be silly not to) buy yourself a jar or two to take home. Thank you for a fabulous night, so happy you've moved into town, can't wait to come back!
