This actually happened, and still makes me laugh from the ridiculousness of it. Two weeks ago we had dinner at the Long Table, I was looking at my dinner and noticed my salad was moving. On closer inspection I realised, no not my salad but...More

What a shame, such a perfect position for a great restaurant, but sadly we were let down. First of all, the welcome was "tepid", menu was "ordinary" and when served was disappointing. When asked why lunch was only half eaten, they didn't take our negative...More

Popped in for a meal as our favourite restaurant was closed for a private function. The food was absolutely delicious but the warmth or ambience was compromised by very-average table service. After being seated, we waited patiently for menus and then had to gesticulate to...More

Eating out in Australia can be very expensive for rather ordinary fare. The Long Table bucks this trend with an imaginative menu at a reasonable price and quite the most pleasant waitress we have met in a long time.

We love this restaurant only to find wine list "run down" they should be able to keep on top of wine lists when they get low and not run out. we prefer to drink New Zealand wines as they are sweeter than our locals and...More

Hi there, for the past 9-10 years we here at The Long Table have made a conscious effort to only stock local wines, with a strong emphasis on Mornington Peninsular Pinots. We haven't stocked a NZ wine in maybe 10 years. Many of our wines...More

Food was good, a tad overpriced I thought. Service, the restaurant was not busy on a Thursday night, service was slow with drinks, one grating thing that is just not good is having to ask for the empty wine bottles to be removed then leaving...More

We shared 3 small dishes and the large lamb shoulder dish. The lamb was outstanding. We probably ordered one small dish too many, but it would have been difficult to choose whether to drop the quail, croquettes or snow peas. Together with 3 glasses of...More

We had dinner here. We shared a combination of starters and main courses and all were really well cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and informal. We really enjoyed our evening and would definitely go back.

This place deserves to be full. Nestled in the vineyard region, furnished in an airy cottage style and staffed by nice people, it is a pleasant place to dine. Consensus was that, though the food was good, the portions were too small for the price...More
