Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great meal in a small seaside village . A gem where all our meals were awesome - oysters local from the area fresh and plump . A better dining experience than it some bigger towns

Been here for two different dinners. The owner took anaphylaxis seriously and recommended meals to suit. First night was Chicken Camembert and hubby had Chicken Kiev, and this evening was Chicken Avocado and hubby once again with the Kiev- he said it's one of the...best kievs he's ever eaten. Great location across from the caravan park and the perfect place for a drink after playing on the amazing golf course! Paper tablecloths are probably for the kids, but didn't stop us from drawing on them. If you're a serious artist, byo pencils!!!!More

We stopped here for dinner in the second night of our Great Ocean Road trip. There were only 2 other tables occupied in the restaurant and still it took them over 45 minutes to serve our chicken. Greasy and tasteless. To top it up both...the owner and the waitress/cook were lacking the kindness and welcoming attitude we have experienced in the rest of our trip. Also very expensive for what you get (this is the only place in the area so you are kinda trapped without alternatives, which they know fully well and exploit). If you are staying in the nearby campervan park, this would be a good night to stay in. If not, just drive 20 minutes longer to the next town.More

We had always planned to have a dinner here but the lunch was a spur of the moment thing during a walk when fishing wasn't possible because of the gale force winds. The usual friendly greeting as we arrived and locals really should be grateful...that the place is still in business when fluctuating holiday trade must have caused severe anxiety over the last 2 years. It's not fine dining but it is a good pub meal with a good wine selection. I chose the parmigiana again for dinner because it is filling, tasty and comes with very tasty chips and a side salad. 3 days later and we were back for a lunch - I chose the calamari in panko crumbs (very tender) and it came with lemon and a tasty dipping sauce.More

We went for dinner twice hence the 2 photos. If i had read the specials board the first time I might have gone for the shanks but i chose the chicken parma and it was a winner. The chicken was thick, tasty covered in ham,...cheese and tomato - chips and salad made it feel healthy. I struggled. Then the next weekend shanks weren't on the specials so i couldn't help it i ordered the parma again..... The wine list has a couple of really good offerings for each varietal, the staff are friendly and the mask wearing lady did check our vax certificate which was reassuring. The place can get busy so book and arrive early if you want to avoid a crowd. The only problem was not all the staff wear masks all the time which is disappointing - this pandemic is serious folks even if you are vaccinated.More

We were staying close by and decided to eat locally. We were greeted warmly by the young lady behind the bar who efficiently took orders and engaged in chat about the local points of interest when we enquired. Meals ordered they were delivered to the...table quickly (before we finished our first drink). The entrees, arancini balls and soup of the day, were both tasty and good size serves. Mains, a pub parma and salmon kebabs, were equally tasty and very filling. This is not gourmet pub grub but good honest food. Another reviewer here was disappointed with the paper table cloths, however, what they may not have seen was families with children using the pots of coloured pencils supplied and drawing and writing stories on the paper. A simple way to entertain the kids that don't want jump around in the playground.More

Well what a delight to have a meal here, my grilled flake was delicious as was my eating companions one with Chicken Camembert and the other with Garlic Pawns which they also described as delicious. I started with a ripper garlic bread too. The bloke...behind the bar was friendly and informative when he took our orders meal and drinks. The dinning room was simple but practically comfortable. All round a very good place to eat and really I rather like the paper table cloth as pristine clean!! Well worth a visit for a brew and meal. I gave a 4 but that is very good for me but this place very close to 5More

Staying nearby, thought we would support the only hotel in town. Paper sheets on the tables. Chicken and avocardo, was a palm size piece of poached chicken with green paste on top. Tasteless and hopefully we wont be sick. Salmon and limw kebabs were better...but the salad underneath was soakd in vinegrette. Very disapointing for a $70 night out. Staff were friendly and polite, but never going back.More

Had a meal here with a large group. All meals were well received. Menu is pretty typical country pun with usual large serves. Have a couple of good specials to go with the normal offering. Service was prompt and friendly. Recommend if in the area
