Shavan's Pakenham opened in Pakenham in October 2010 and is one among the best restaurant in Pakenham, It's famous for its unique taste and rich flavour tasting cuisines specializing in finest North Indian Cuisine. Our dishes are prepared using the finest and freshest produce available in Victoria. Our Owner and Head Chef, Krishna Chalise, has over 30 years of experience in Indian Cuisine. He has mastered the art of blending freshest spices and ingredients to bring out mouth-watering flavours to please all your taste buds. Very good Indian dinner

Went here for dinner while passing through Pakenham. Ordered a chicken tikka entree, Rogan Josh and butter chicken for mains along with garlic naan, and rice. All meals were very good despite bringing out the wrong meals to begin with. Service was great. The only annoying factor was the constant blaring away of a video game that was being used by a child of one of the staff who was sitting at a table in the restaurant. I understand the flexibility of bringing your child to the work place, but please buy them some headphones so the patrons in the establishment do not have to listen to that racket.

Fantastic Restaurant

I am surprised reading some reviews on Shavans. We have eaten here many times. The last being last Saturday night. The meals were so tasty. Your choice how mild or how hot you want it. The staff were so attentive. The manager couldn't do enough for us. His suggestion for us to try the Cheese naan was a hit, as usually have garlic naan . The atmosphere is really nice and the place is so clean.

Worth the visit

Really lovely Indian dishes with friendly service. Delicious food. Could not fault it. Ordered same dishes that we get from our local to compare and were different but just as tasty.

2nd Time failure

On our previous visit we were disappointed. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen. 2nd time even worse, burnt naan, wrong orders, forced to change table half way through the meal. Uncaring Manager. Never ever again.

Tasteless and Bland

We have eaten here on a number of occasions and enjoyed it, so decided to celebrate a birthday dinner there. So disappointed! The food had little flavour, lacking spice and salt. We don't like super hot curries, but we at least like our food to have some flavour. I could cook better myself.

Horrible food

Ordered through Uber eats and the food was absolutely disgusting. No salt, paste or spices at all. It was meant to be a tandooi chicken but seemed and tastes like a steamed chicken. Not the first time happening!

Home Delivery from Hell

We have had good food from here previously, but recently we had a far from positive experience. Was told we could get a refund for a cold $200 order that they admitted sat in a car for 1.15hrs, then didn't honour that. Said they told us the food had to go back with the delivery driver in order to get the refunds, guests confirm that that wasn't said as we had had the phone on loudspeaker due to the food still not being there 2hrs after ordering. Delivery driver had left straight away, my missus called the restaurant immediately afterwards and on top of not stating it had to go back with him, they didnt send him back. Food had been in an Aldi cool bag and not a proper food transport bag so little wonder it was cold

Great environment and wonderful food

We had dinner here on a cold evening . Booked ahead to make sure we got a table . Restaurant warm and cosy , which we very much appreciated. Had a choice of a banquet for two however we ordered a number of dishes to share , including butter chicken and beef massaman curry , naan bread and rice. All so very fresh and tasty. Parking available out the front as well as around the back. Well worth a visit and can cater for a good size group

Unbelievable service, great food

I ordered takeaway from this restaurant rather late on Anzac day. I had tried other Indian restaurants in my area - all closed. I am very glad I did as the food was fantastic!!! The manager/owner of the restaurant called me after I placed the order and advised me that his delivery driver had already left for the night, and that he would be delivering it himself, or if I minded that the delivery might be a little later than I had previously been promised. I was hungry, craving curry - what more can I say. I got my curry, I got to meet the owner, who wasn't actually that late at all! Now I have a new favourite Indian restaurant in my area. WIN WIN

India Here We Come

Had a really good meal here with some friends. Good service and for four people a price of around $100 which is hard to beat. You don't have to go into the inner suburbs to enjoy a good Indian meal, it was there in Pakenham.

Nothing remarkable, decent spicy food and service, fair price. Waitress disappeared towards the end of the meal and had to go looking for her to order the bill.

Unsatisfied Craving

Just two weeks back from India and I had a craving for Indian Food and a real Masala Tea. It's been a while since I've been to this particular Indian restaurant. Service really is fantastic (rating based on that), treat you like a high classed restarant. But I'm afraid the food was ordinary and when I asked for a Masala tea I was given a tea bag in a pot of water............ It wasn't even a real Masala tea, I was so disappointed. My sons lassie was so coloured that he went home with a yellow tongue. Lassies tasted nothing like the lassies on the streets of India. So I will have to continue on my hunt for the real thing.
