Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrived late morning after missing the breakfast at Dudleys. As for the food,it was below average. Ordered the chicken cream y pie and the spinach feta pie with chips n salad. Coffees were cold, and pies lacked any real flavour. Advice is taste your prduct,...Really dissapointed, couldn’t wait to leave..More

so disappointing as the last time we went, albeit about 6 years ago it was great. Although its a pie place they used to do terrific baked potatoes but no longer. We ordered a pastie - far too much pastry and a meat and mushroom...pie with a bowl of chips. Just as well they were piping hot as there did not seem to be any heating in the cafe and when we enquired about this, the waitress said they did not know how to work the heating! The pie and pastie would have been enhanced by a couple of leaves of salad instead of just plonked on a bread and butter plate totally naked. Unfortunately will not return.More

Discovered this place accidentally when visiting the area. Love the Alpine ambience!! I ordered a beef and Guinness pie and my husband the pepper steak with mash peas and gravy. Very happy with our meals. Water was served and rest room facilities clean . Coffee...was good and hot on a chilly day.More

Our visit to Pie in the Sky was one to talk about for a long time. There were two queues to order food: take away (which had someone accepting orders) and dine-in (which was eerily unattended). We threw ourselves on the mercy of one of...the staff and commenced to order. Oh dear! The person on the till did not know how to place an order. Thoughts of Manuel arose. Half an hour later there was no sign of our orders. 'It's a 45 minute wait!' said the waitress without a hint of regret. 'For pies??' 'Get used to it' was the unspoken reply. This was not so much Manuel: more the customer relations of border security in Afghanistan. We decided to go for a refund. The person on the till did not know how to do a refund. No complaints here, Manuel was preferable to Kabul immigration. The manager turned up. Would he play Basil and give us a truly memorable soundbite? To his credit he remained calm. He did not know how to do a refund either. After struggling for 10 - 15 minutes with the Enigma code of the order entry system he heroically prevailed and we got our refund. Result! Meanwhile, the queues got longer... and longer. And the food? No idea, we never got that far.More

Stopped here for lunch whilst driving up the mountains. A wide range of pies available at reasonable prices. Can recommend the beef and ale variety.

It’s been a while since we have been here I’m not sure if it has changed hands or not . You used to get mushy peas and mash potatoes and gravy with your pies and was a nice lunch . After today visit you can...add chips ? They pies where dry no gravy in them or any randang sauce . The sausage roll was burnt and black inside and the sausage meat inside dry , The custard tart was old and had a metallic taste and the lemon tart was also old and very old curd . Will not return or recommendMore

They are charging full Restaurant Prices for a very poorly run take away service. They said they do not provide table service because of staff shortages, there was only one other couple there and they had three staff standing behind the counter. You have to...go out to the rear car park to collect the order. Food and drinks were very slow. One pie still cold in the middle. We have been there before and it is definitely gone to the pack. Overpriced and very disappointing. Never going back!More

I work nearby and have noticed this place is closed and awful lot. A family or a group would approach these doors about once every minute only to regret climbing the stairs. Literally hundreds of people per day, it's sad to watch when everyone, particularly...in the service industries has had such a tough year. Maybe when jobkeeper finishes the management will become more suitably motivated to open up more regularly. The pies are good there.More

😎 #Introduction Pie In The Sky been around for years and is a good choice for lunch. You’ll need to Call in advance at the moment because of restrictions, or otherwise eat at an outside table. 👍 #TheyDoThisWell The service (pie-to-table) was remarkably quick compared...to other times we’ve been here. The curry veggie pie and spinach and feta pie were very flavourful and crispy on the outside. 🤔 #OpportunityForImprovement There was a great deal of confusion when entering the venue. There was very little signage and it wasn’t clear if people have ordered, waiting to order, or are just looking at the take away menu (no table service). More signage would be good - especially when there are a lot of people waiting to order. 😎 #Conclusion The food is great and consistently great. The staff are friendly and accommodating where possible. Phone ahead to book if you want an indoor seat.More

Very rude staff. They don’t seem that interested in being there. We Stood there for 10 mins waiting for a table but were completely ignored by all staff who didn’t look overly busy. We just left and went to a cafe over the road. Will...not go back.More
