Seafood was fresh and flavoursome. Different tastes, loved the activated charcoal garlic prawns. On the pricey side but well worth the dollars. Wine complemented the meal beautifully. Staff were very attentive, fresh cutlery and serviettes per course. Nice atmosphere with relaxing background music. Glad we...had a special night out.More

Loved it, food was delicious. I had the Calamari, with oysters and prawns. Unable to finish it there was so much. Service was great, friendly and plesant.

Sunday afternoon seafood feast with cocktails was fantastic. We spent last Sunday afternoon here and we were blown away by the food and the service. 6 courses were served over the sitting and each of them were amazing. There was so much food we could...not finish, and we’re all big eaters. The best oysters kilpatrick, and I don’t normally even like oysters. Everything was cooked to perfection and the side salads were just a party in your mouth. Cocktails, beer and wine a plenty. The value at $100 a head cannot be beaten. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Can’t wait to go back.More

Seven of us for dinner on a quiet Tuesday night. Wine not cheap and service very slow.First thing we were told was the items that were not available. There was one special, and only one left (very special).Seven adults varied dishes , and order at the...bar. Did they tell us that their would be a 40 minute wait. Looks to me that they run this place with no staff. Food for the top end prices was very average. 8 prawns in creamy tomato sauce for $34 , and pack it up with bread to fill you . Most pub grub I’ve had is better. I do not believe in the High ratings this place gets. Can only assume this business has survived as a result of the itinerant tourist. Menus looks great, caters for everybody, don’t be fooled, avoid this place.More

Dear Russell, We are so disappointed that you had this experience at our venue. The Hospitality industry is reliant on its staff and sometimes these staff let us down. Your comments were valid for the evening and we have made important changes to our business...More

We dined here as a last minute booking as we were trying to get into bowling club but it was booked out. We were definitely not disappointed. The calamari was lovely and tender with nice chunky chips and salad. Husband had the seafood pasta. There...was plenty of fresh seafood and pasta was cooked well. Daughter had the chicken schnitzel. Was the largest serving I had ever seen but she managed to finish it off. All in all, lovely dinner nice atmosphere and quick service. Will definitely dine again when in Ocean GroveMore

Visited for dinner with family on a Thursday night. I was really underwhelmed based on the reviews on here. Service was indifferent but not unfriendly. Steak at $39 was a huge disappointment. Small handful of chips and the meat itself was average. The prawn pasta...was good. Ribs were tender but very fatty and swimming in grease. If prices were more reasonable I'd give 3 stars as the food and experience was "okay". One star off as the pricing is far above the quality and experience.More

I really don’t like to give poor reviews but for a restaurant to get 4/5 stars and outstanding reviews, is a restaurant you look forward to going to and look forward to eating their top quality food. I should have known from the moment we...walked in, this won’t end well. We made a booking for dinner and upon arrival we were placed outside on a cold summer night, with a heater facing only one way. With kids this was a no go. Finally a table was made up for us inside. You’ll think calling to make a booking this would be an option to sit in or out, this was not the case. I’m not going to dwell on this as at the time it wasn’t a huge deal but I should have seen the warning signs. Finally once we sat we were told there was no calamari (Saturday night, no calamari?!) and we had to go to the bar and order ( didn’t know I was at a pub!). We ordered our food and drinks, we finished our drinks and waited... and waited... and waited. A total of 45 minutes till our food came out, and I should mention 4 out of 8 meals were kids. So we had lots of moaning from the kids. If we hadn’t paid prior, we would have walked out and gone to the local pizza or fish shop. Before I get to the food, service was good by most we got served by (received a little attitude when asked for Parmesan cheese and how long our food will be) and Decor was average. Nothing special. The food we ordered had a combination of dishes, from steak, fish & chips, hotpot prawns and spaghetti marinara. Kids liked their steaks, good portion sizes and good value for money. The fish & chips was average, nothing to brag and I was told the same about the steak. The prawn hotpot was delicious I was told just need more bread as was very saucy and would be good to soak that extra sauce. The spaghetti marinara had all the flavours, delicious to look at but the pasta was not cooked and all clunked together. This was a huge disappointment as I have NEVER received pasta like this ever!!! This was a very amateur thing to do!! I was extremely disappointed and refused to eat it or accept it given I paid $34 for this dish. So while the waitress spoke to the chef, i was asked what do I want to do. My reply, I have waited 45 minutes for food and I’m starving. I would like what I ordered. Instead I was offered my money back or a marinara hotpot. I guess they don’t know how to cook pasta. So the hotpot it was. So while I sat and waited for dinner watching my family eat theirs, i looked around and noticed many anxiously waiting for their meals for a very long time. The hotpot finally came I can see exactly what my friend meant with lots of sauce and not enough bread. It was a not bad dish but I’ll won’t order it again. Wait, will I go again?? No, definitely not. If I was to go to the local hotel, I think my dining experience would have better, at least they know how to cook pasta! Tip: if you are looking to enjoy your wine with your food, Order your wine after you receive the food otherwise you’ll drink the whole bottle before the food arrives!More

We hadn't visited this restarant for 2 years, and have recently been blown away by the quality of food. I had the prawn pasta and my husband had fillet steak. Both were exceptional, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. Service is really friendly, am going...back asap. Book for dinners as they get busy.More

This bistro is a favourite of Ocean Grove/Barwon Heads locals like ourselves. People come to eat at Zebra Bar from across the Bellarine Peninsula for the quality food and friendly service. In addition to the comfortable inside dining area there is a large outside covered...balcony with views towards the ocean. The balcony is a great place for a relaxed drink with friends. We eat there often. Today we saw Zebra Bar’s updated summer menu (Dec 2019) for the first time, which includes a huge range of gluten-free options. The menu includes a range of substantial steak, chicken and vegetarian dishes. But check our their great seafood options - including a seafood platter for two. They do amazing steaks - I had my steak with a creamy white wine sauce containing prawns and scallops. Important for Coeliacs like my wife, the kitchen and the owners understand gluten-free food preparation. And yes, they have a seperate GF deep-fry and preparation arrangements to avoid cross contamination. If you plan to visit during holiday season it is best to book. Zebra Bar is up a flight of stairs and tucked away at the end of the main shopping street in old Ocean Grove. Don’t let that put you off! You would be missing a treat.More
