While visiting Mt Beauty we chose to grab some take away from Bombay Velvet to eat back at our unit - absolutely delicious - we enjoy curries from numerous restaurants back home in Queensland - definitely an individual flavour better than anything that we are used to! The family all enjoyed the butter chicken while I missed out on my usual favourites, lamb curry and chose a chick madras. Superb! Reasonable quick and friendly service. Definitely eat here again! Thank you!

We stopped in for dinner on the way back to Bright from a day at Falls Creek. Everything we ordered was delicious. From chicken tikka pieces, to samosas, garlic naan, chicken saag, lamb Rogan josh and chana masala. We were served by a lovely lady who did her very best to keep up with an increasingly busy room. Great food, great service with a smile. We would definitely return.

My partner and I have dined at or taken away meals at least once a week for the past 12 months ( even in the longest lockdown) at Bombay Velvet. We have never had a disappointing meal or night there. The food is superb! I always have a seafood dish, such as sizzling Tandoori Prawns, but their Onion Baja is to die for, the papadums crisp and crunchy, and the garlic naan bread is a favourite with everyone. This is by far our favourite restaurant in an area that is renowned for its wine and food! Plus the host / chef Raj is a Bollywood Legend...you can watch his movie clips/ videos whilst dining.

Absolutely waste of money… disgusting food…. Weird staff…. Went last week ordered one food got some different… staff not ready to listen us… feel scary about l the restaurant ambience, the way staff response and stare to us…regret to being there for dinner…. Strongly do not recommend to someone who is looking for authentic Indian cuisine….

Eating out for a family celebration we were very disappointed by this place. The food took over an hour to come out to us, we watched the family next to us come in after we had put in our order, they ordered and ate their meal before we got our food! The male service staff, when paying for the food, short changed us and was dismissive of the concerns. The female staff were lovely, friendly and apologetic. The quality of the food was average however servings were small. Definitely not worth the visit.

My wife and I made a booking here because we love Indian food and the reviews on the internet were positively glowing, but reality was nothing like our expectations. First of all, they were out of nearly everything. We tried to order a starter but of the five or six listed they had only two. A number of the curries weren’t available either, and there was no mango chutney. Strangely, we weren’t told what was available - we had to try to order something to find out that they didn’t have it. We ended up ordering an eggplant curry, garlic naan, and a lamb biryani. The curry wasn’t bad, but everything else was pretty awful. The naan didn’t have the appearance or flavor of naan. Instead it looked like a grocery store pita or tortilla that they had basted with garlic butter after roasting it. The biryani was more like a very wet risotto, and was full of undercooked onions and tomatoes. A very depressing meal.

Food was fresh. Taste was alright. Lady managing the restaurant needs some help, if the restaurant gets too busy. Clean Place and must visit if you want to have Indian food in Mount Beauty

WORST EVER FOOD.IF YOU REALLY WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY THAN VISIT HERE OTHERWISE PLEASE FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE THEY ARE SCAM SELLING STALE FOOD AND TASTELESS FOOD. BIRYANI I ORDERED WAS SO WET IT WAS PLAIN RICE MIXED WITH STALE CHICKEN CURRY AND WHEN WE COMPLAINED THE MAN JUST WALKED AWAY SHOWING ATTITUDE. PIC FOR PROOF..LASTLY THEY CHARGED TEA 5$ AND SERVED IN PAPER CUP..

Most incredible food with heaps of vegetarian and vegan options! We ate here two nights in a row because we enjoyed it so much! The veggie samosas are incredible we had them both nights that we were there, the naan is amazing and we tried 3 different vegetable currys which were all delicious! Staff are super friendly and it has a really nice relaxing atmosphere! Highly recommend :)
