Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent night. Professional young staff. Food is fresh and tasty. We had the smoked harissa chicken, short rubs and lamb sholder. All meals were sensational. Will definitely return.

Seriously wonderful service. Started with spicy cocktail. Shared two entrees of eggplant and Greek cheese dish and lamb shoulder with baby Dutch carrots. Everything was faultless.

Best restaurant in Mornington and amazing service. Food is phenomenal. We had three courses and all over delivered and even the non alcoholic cocktail was surprisingly delish. They’ve thought of everything

We arrived late as we were watching the Matildas, restaurant staff couldn’t be more understanding. Food was fantastic (made better by our winning mood) , the staff were friendly and efficient, it was only when we were leaving that we noticed that we were the...last to leave, staff hadn’t rushed us and even offered us coffee which would have lengthened their night. Great night out! Thank you Wild Grain!More

Also ordered the Monkfish which was equally delicious. For sweet we ate the White...Chocolate Panna Cotta with Rhubarb which was also great. We were so happy with our meals we went and personally thanked the young chef. Our waiter was professional and made us feel very welcomed meMore

What a find in Mornington. Tucked in a back street away from the traffic of Main Street, this gem of a restaurant stands tall. Pleasant, leafy decor, casual and comfortable. The food here shines, as does the service, outstanding for the Mornington Peninsula. A small...but interesting menu. Fresh flavours, beautifully cooked and presented. Crispy crab croquettes with a creamy sauce, fried monkfish, delicate and flaky. Ceviche, grilled trout, served with fresh green vegetables. Cocktails were delicious, wine is reasonably priced. Staff are excellent, helpful, knowledgeable and very competent. Cannot wait to return.More

Time to celebrate my second Christmas and we decided to try something new and headed to Mornington. The choice today was Wildgrain, just off the main street. We were warmly welcomed into a comfortable atmosphere and sat down to peruse the menu. It is not...the most extensive list but the menu is very well balanced and caters to everyone, including us vegequarians, with a variety of choices. We began with the Taramasalata with raw & pickled young vegetables, Salmon caviar and potato crisps. The flavour of the taramasalata is subtle but clearly defined and the pickled vegetables add a real bite. Great start. For mains we opted to share two dishes. Tahini baked cauliflower with pickled grapes Persian cashew feta and sumac was the most tender example of cauliflower I have tasted. It was simply beautiful. My favourite for the day was the ricotta gnocchi with garden pesto, smoked Kipfler potatoes, buffalo mozzarella, pickled squash and Sean's spring blooms. The pesto was the most wonderful blend of herbs and is a genuinely different flavour in a very positive way. We were brave enough to squeeze dessert in with my partner savouring a lemon tart and me loving a chocolate gateaux with raspberries that was light and delicious. Wildgrain is a wonderful addition and we will definitely go back. The service was delightful, many of the vegies come from their own garden and all were beautifully prepared ad presented. This is a very relaxed environment, that looks good, feels nice and tastes even better.More

We booked a table for our social group of four two months in advance for lunch on 15 Dec. The booking was made online and confirmed at the time. One week before the planned lunch Wildgrain informed us that our booking was now cancelled due...to another function needing the table. This gave us little chance of getting another good quality restaurant at that time of year (we were not successful). We are locals and Wildgrain has been one of our preferred eating venues. However the arrogance and customer disrespect given to us as outlined above will not see us or our friends returning anytime soon.More
