We went to the Wildgrain for breakfast, The haloumi and avocado in a roll was very tasty and the the side of black pudding was the best I've had in a long time. This place is very popular and the service is very prompt. Awesome...coffee. We can't wait to get back there.More
Shared a long lunch today with friends. First time at Wildgrain - definitely won't be our last. Fantastic food - so very well presented - Attentive service without fuss. Restaurant fit-out is superb.
Manager - Barry - thank you.
Will be telling all our friends...on the Peninsula.
The venue is located one block off the main street of Mornington and parking is hard to find. We parked up the road next to the school.
I chose the 12 hour braised beef after asking one of the staff which meal he would choose...between the braised beef and the beef cheeks. It was very good - the Jerusalem artichoke rosti was also interesting and gave us a new option to try at home because we grow them. The fried eggs and creme fraiche seemed and odd addition but really gave a new dimension to the dish that I found very enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive the rear outside room needed heating if the occasional cold breeze through the door was any indication.More
Great presentation & taste of the food we had. My friend had the club sandwich & said the best she’d ever had. I had the vegan option of Winter greens - while delicious it was insubstantial and lacked any protein (merely a few wilted green...vegetables with a small amount of vegan cheese/dip) so I came away starving. Not great considering the prices are on the high side. The coffee though was excellent.More
A long overdue catch up with friends and an excellent choice it was. 4 adults and one toddler (high chairs provided). We all chose something different (except the toddler who brought her own).
Bacon and egg burger, halloumi and avocado burger and more. The staff...were excellent in catering for all our needs. Orders taken quickly and meal on the table in a timely manner.
Absolutely well worth a try in a town with many cafes and eateries.
Wheelchair accessible. Dietaries catered for. Good parking nearby. Toilets on site. Portion sizes good. Takeaway available.More
Wow, what a a find! Do yourselves a favour and please get out and try this restaurant. We went for lunch with our 3 year old son and the staff were so friendly, attentive and were so accomodating to kids! (Yay a kid friendly restaurant...that serves amazing food...I’m in heaven). They brought our colouring pencils for my son and the service and wait time for food were excellent. The food when it arrived was just divine. I had the gnocchi and my husband had the eggs Benedict. Thank for you for such an awesome lunch!More
We rate 1 star for the food. All food came out cold after 45mins waiting. Start with cold & burned potato chips - well newly cooked potato chips should be hot, not just burn on the outside and totally cold.
Then the brisket burger $35-...tastes tale and dry. The pork belly $30 is a funny small portion of a 2 finger-size, served completely cold, overcooked tasted tale too.
We don’t mind paying for quality food, but we do mind being served low quality/inedible food. Totally appalling quality for a normal restaurant.
Would not want to come back here again. Wonder why there are 5-star rating.More
Wildgrain would have to be one of the best eats in Mornington! Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks and cocktails this place does the lot and does it to a very high standard. After 20+ visits i'm well placed to say the food is always divine,...service is exceptional and the ambience of the place makes you never want to leave. If you haven't been, go and you won't be disappointed!More
