We enjoyed our meals. The parmy was big and really nice, and the roast was good too. Great value for money. The kids meals were small for the price, especially for a 3 and 5yo. $14.90 for a handful of chips and 2 pieces of fish, tasted nice but overpriced for a kids meal.

Hi McMick, Thank you very much for dining with us, super glad that you enjoyed our new Panko crumbed parma,..it's been getting great feedback (along with the new Greek Eggplant parma too). Very sorry re thoughts on the kids meals,...no, we are not the 'cheapest' in town for kids meals, however you should have also received free drinks for the kids, and one of our free take home kids activity packs as well.(which than makes it very good value) I would really appreciate if you could contact me at the hotel, so that I can make it up to you, as it looks like these extras may have gone astray. Pls call me on 5775 2004, still hope to see you back soon, kind regards, Dean - Owner.

Lovely Sunday takeaway meal

During our isolation time our family is trying all the restaurants in Mansfield to support them and then review them. We loved the ease of being able to order ahead of time then pickup from the bottle shop when it was ready. The order of the bad boy Parma, roast of the day (lamb) and the warm Moroccan quinoa salad with lamb were all delicious and of a very good portion size. The only issue was with the Parma that, apparently, needed more bacon bits (it was so big that it could just fit into our car boot BTW!). We got free ciders which was appreciated too. Well done crew.

Must visit !

Fantastic service and amazing food. We had the lamb and scotch fillet and they were decadently delivered with perfect flavor combinations. We will definitely be going back ! All covid restrictions were adhered too and hand sanitizer was available. Clean facilities and great atmosphere.

This was our second visit to this venue. We came here for dinner while it was quite busy and the atmosphere felt a bit chaotic. To start with we didn’t get the best impression when we walked in, as we were left standing at the ‘please wait to be seated’ sign, completely ignored for quite some time by a young staff member standing 1m away wiping a table. Eventually seated at our table, with no run though of the meal specials or instructions on how to order as it’s not table service. Lucky we had been to the venue before and had it figured out, not that staff knew that. When I ordered the meals I asked the young lady behind the counter if the kid’s meal could come out sooner, as nearly every other hotel/restaurant does this with kids meals. She snapped at me with an unpleasant look and said “the meal will come out when it’s ready”. I walked away feeling really quite annoyed to be spoken to like that. Customer service skills were really lacking. We ordered a chicken parmigiana and lamb shank as well as a kids roast - all very average and not anything I would recommend. The food was edible, but not anything I was happy paying $70 for. The food came out extremely quick too which is good, but also means everything pre-prepared and reheated. The tomato in the salad was soft mush which is a sign it has been sitting around pre-cut for a while. All in all, not the worst but certainly not the best dining experience. We probably won’t return for a third time.

We're disappointed to hear that you didn't have a great experience here at the Delatite Hotel. Australia Day weekend was the busiest it has been in Mansfield since the bushfire chaos in early January so it may have been a little chaotic with plenty of people around. Tonight I ordered a scotch fillet, Medium as I’ve had steak almost every time I go out for dinner. Sounds like a lovely meal, right? That is if you didn’t have to wait over 15 minutes before you stop a waiter to ask where the final meal was on a table of 5.. by the time this order had arrived the other four had well and truly finished their meals. Upon receiving this meal my first thought was that it almost resembles a lamb chop minus the bone the way the fat was holding the meat together.. looking past that I had decided to try this questionable steak. I cut into the steak and looking at it I had thought it to be almost well done if not medium-well.. I thought fair enough everyone cooks it differently, so I took a bite and was trying to chew through it which had taken much longer than originally anticipated.. upon swallowing I had decided that I could not eat the rest of it as it was not to my expectations hence I thought a refund would be best as everyone on my table had eaten and thinking it wouldn’t have been much of a problem. But no, some guy comes out after waiting around another 5/10 minutes and starts stating that that’s how the steak is and there is no problem as this is what I asked for, he then pulls the plate towards him spilling the Jus onto my belongings without apology. He then proceeded to take out his wallet and pass out the cash and walk away.. this then made me feel as if I was wrong to say anything and couldn’t understand why he couldn’t have just apologised and handed out the refund..

Fantastic Meal

Due to the Covid-19, eating out is nolonger a option. So thought we'd try the pony express. What a great service, smart thinking! My hubbie had the Lamb Shanks and the meat was so tender, just perfect. I had the Chicken, Chips and Veggies. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted as good as it normally does when your dining there. Just love this Hotel as the food has always been great (tho sometimes the meals are too large). The menu changes so you never get bored eating the same meals.

Good local Pub food

Visited straight after lockdown 2.0. Pub was well organised with table service and people well spaced form each other. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and just happy to be working again. The food was tasty, well prepared and quickly served. The wine and beer list was also substantial. The owner of the pub came round to every table to chat and ensure the food and drink were acceptable. Good service.

Lovely country pub, great food and friendly staff

I love this pub and the food is exceptional, I was really surprised at the menu options and the quality of every dish that arrived. Much more than your average pub. We came here for a family meal for my partner's birthday, 2 of us had the lamb rump which was cooked to perfection and came with a delicious veggie/salad, a Parma which was perfect, a scotch fillet which looked lovely and came with beautiful veggies and pure and my partner had the burger which he was very impressed with. The owner/manager is so nice and welcoming as well as the rest of the staff and the outside courtyard is lovely. Can't wait to go back here on our next visit to Mansfield :)

Great food, great service

As a group of 12 (9 adults with disabilities & 3 support workers) we booked a table out in the beer garden which was really nice. The service provided by the young male waiter was exceptional. He engaged with everyone in our group, was so friendly and very efficient. All of our meals were delicious and even though they were very busy drinks were quick to come out as was our food. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

I called the Delatite Hotel Bistro about an hour prior to when I planned to eat to enquire as to whether I would need to book a table in advance, to which I was told that I would. I told the staff member that I would be dining solo and asked if I could have a table for one at about 6pm. He told me that would be fine, and asked for my name, which I gave. I then asked if it would be possible to request an inside table, as I was reluctant to be seated outside during these cold nights, if at all possible. I was informed that this would not be a problem. Upon arrival, there was no mention of me in the reservations list, and I was then lead to a table outside, despite informing the staff member that I’d been assured of an inside table. Things went pear-shaped when I asked for a lemonade to drink, such as Schweppes or Sprite, which seemed to baffle the waitress. It took a number of minutes to explain what it was I wanted to drink. After a short time I was provided with the garlic bread I ordered, along with my drink. Unfortunately, I took a couple of sips and all I could taste was soda water. I asked a member of staff if they could change it for the lemonade I ordered and after a while they came back and informed me I could not have lemonade as there was a problem with dispensing it. I asked if I could get it in a can instead, and was told I could not. I was offered non-alcoholic beer or Bundaberg Rum Ginger Ale, which I politely declined. I then had to have water, which was served at room temperature. I also ordered my meal, which was fish and chips, requesting some tomato sauce as well, in lieu of tartare sauce. When my meal came, it looked great but there was no sauce, causing me to seek out a staff member again to request some. I don’t want to seem harsh, but I did not enjoy my experience here tonight at all as it was a disappointment virtually from the time I walked in the door. I usually like to give people and places a second chance but am unsure if I will this time.

Best birthday dinner

We chose to have my wife's birthday dinner here in the middle of the Easter holidays and it did not disappoint. After coming up through Mansfield for over 15 years and this being the first time we've eaten here, we're kicking ourselves we haven't eaten here before now. The restaurant was fully booked yet we felt like we were the only ones in there. All of the staff looked after us, we always had drinks and the food was perfect. We'll definitely be coming back and would recommend to family, friends or you lot.

Our meal tonight was absolutely perfect. Lovely decor. The staff were super friendly and efficient. If you have children they really take care of them - providing colouring books and pencils. They also chatted with the children which was lovely to see. The food was really nice - steak was cooked perfectly and salmon was delicious. Full of flavour. Super fast service. Highly recommend you visit the Delatite Hotel for dinner - you won't be disappointed.

Never disappoints

We have been coming into the delatite for years now, when ever we are in town we always make a point to call in (at least once) I have seen so many changes in this place over the years but the quality of the food and the exceptional service is always the same if not better every time I visit. Tonight as we were dining the staff were singing and dancing as they were waiting their tables. Happy staff, to me indicates a well run business. Congrats to the owners, id say you're on a winner!

Food was OK though portion sizes not as generous as expected for pub food averaging $30-40 a serve. My friend had ribs which were delicious but the ‘rustic potatoes’ accompanying them were just 3 fairly small pieces of roast potato. My eggplant parmigiana was one smallish slice of crumbed eggplant and sauce, nice, but small, and a decent quantity of fairly ordinary chips, not great value for $30-odd. It made me wonder how small the senior’s portions might be! The pub bistro is huge and not particularly characterful, just a ubiquitous modern pub atmosphere. It was very busy on the Thursday night we visited, and they put a sign outside fairly early saying it was full, so it is obviously very popular. I think there are several other good options in town at least as good, and some offering much better value for money and a nicer vibe.

Had a dinner here on a Saturday, the indoor dining area was full but not noisy. Staff very accommodating after messing up our booking. Food was delicious, mushroom pie and egglplant parma. BUT they ran out of heavy red wines. 3 selections were out of stock, hmmmmm. But overall very pleasant, fast service, nice atmosphere. Will visit again.
