We went there last night 17-10-2020, my better half had $24 fish and chips which were very good. I paid $40 for a steak that was dry and over cooked. How is it that the most basic of meals , like a good and well cooked steak, cannot be put in front of a customer?
Will we go back there? Maybe for fish and chips but we can buy them for $12 in the fish and chips shop over the road from the pub.

My partner and I just had a delicious takeaway dinner home delivered tonight. For entree we had the Garlic Focaccia - yum!! Our mains - the Chicken Parma Panko with vegies and the Papardelle pasta. The Parma was great, a decent size serve with nice crisp vegies (not overcooked like some do) and tasty chicken with a lovely topping . The Parpadelle pasta was also delicious - the pasta cooked just right and the slow cooked beef lovely and tender in the tasty sauce. Will happily order from here again and recommend to others.

When visiting Mansfield we had our evening meals at the hotel. They offered a limited seniors menu'two courses either entree and main or main and desert for under $20 each besides the normal menu with a good range of meals to pick from.
The meals were delicious and the servings generous. . The staff were friendly and efficient and I am more than happy to recommend the Mansfield hotel to anyone looking for good pub meals and a reasonable price..

This pub has definitely gone downhill since the last time we were there. Made a reservation as we thought it might be very busy being Australia Day Weekend 2021. When we first walked in there were quite a few tables empty. We sat down and was greeted by a flustered waitress who promptly told us that there would be an hour wait for our meals!! We tossed around the idea of leaving and going to the Delatite across the road but decided since we were already seated and had ordered some drinks that we would say. Bad idea!!!. The meals did take around an hour and one meal at a time came out at about 20 minute intervals. When I finally got my meal, being fish and chips it looked like it had been thrown on the plate and when I cut into my fish it was still FROZEN!! The other meals were very very average. The waitress took my meal away and returned with another one which was cooked this time. When We went to pay the bill I asked the waitress if there was an issue in the kitchen. She promptly said "its been a sh**t show tonight" and that she didn't normally work there but was called in to help. She said the whole night in the kitchen was one big disaster. Should have left and gone to the Delatite. Will definitely not be returning. Some major improvements need to be addressed at this pub.

How ridiculous they don’t split the Bill. My kids went there the other night 20 at a table and they would not let them individually pay for their meal. No pre warning. It’s a tourist town where friends go away together. What young adult should have to pay the lot. Crazy. Money is money.

Seemed to be a popular place but we were highly disappointed with the whole meal. Overcooked rock hard garlic bread, soggy flavourless pizzas and topped off with a flat coke. We considered ordering dessert just to see how bad that could be but due to the very slow customer service we decided to leave. We’re only in Mansfield for a night and wish we had chosen a different venue!

We went here a couple weeks ago for dinner and it was amazing! The food was great and the service was even better, these guys really know how to make people feel welcome.
The new owners have done such an amazing job given what they have had to go through since taking over. The outdoor area is so much more appealing and inviting!
Can’t wait to have a cold beer out there in summer.

Our first dinner following lockdown and the Mansfield Hotel did not disappoint. Dinner was delicious, I highly recommend the eye fillet on mushroom risotto. Service was brilliant from all of the staff. We learnt one man was Qantas cabin crew and the recruitment pipeline of the owners leaves me very impressed. Well done, my long standing positive view of this Hotel has been reinforced by its latest owners.

Service was good, sat outside in the sun which was lovely. My husband had the panko chicken Parma, it was soggy and not very large. I had the poke bowl was a very small serve left feeling hungry. Not worth the money spent.

So easy to book a table online with instant confirmation. Really great customer service. Just take a seat at the table you have booked and the staff will take care of drinks and any food you have ordered will be brought to your table. I had the southern highlands eye fillet it was so tasty and tender went down well with my Prosecco. My wife had the shank and it was huge. She said it was sooooo tasty. We got 10% off our meals because we applied for a free loyalty card. Will be back next week.

On a whim we stopped in Mansfield for night. This pub was suggested by locals for our evening meal and we couldn’t have been happier. Friendly staff, great choice of local wines, and menu dedicated to local produce. Will be back when next in the area.

Mighty hard to fault on any measure is my assessment. We came for diner tonight here and we’re very glad we did. We loved our entrees of garlic bread and calamari shared between three. Nobody anywhere does garlic bread well anymore except the hood people here. It’s insanely tasty. Garlic and cheese melted and drizzled into Turkish bread. Do not miss it.
My main meal was similarly ridiculously delicious. Roast lamb with veggies. Sounds basic but let me tell you that Gordon Ramsay himself couldn’t have made it more tasty. All it needed was a touch of mint sauce which the friendly server grabbed for me in a thrice. This was the best roast I’ve tasted for years. My wife went nuts I over her Mansfield Burger too. She asserted several times that it might be the best burger she’d ever tasted.
We loved the wine list here too, appropriately dominated as it was by lovely local wines. The other thing to celebrate here are the staff. All of the six or so staff members we struck here were really lovely and very helpful.
This was our last night in wonderful Mansfield and for the second time in three years I’m reflecting on how right they get things here. Just the two pubs we are at here are exceptional for food compared with most city counterparts. And their hospitality similarly leaves city places for dead.
It’s a brilliant meal here at a very reasonable price and the winning hospitality is most welcome. Make sure you don’t miss it.

Don’t order the lamb shank pie. Most deflating experience you’ll have.
Big pie when it leaves the kitchen … full of hot air and no shank when you pop the pastry.
I gave it back - they charged me 50% because they said I had eaten some of it.
I felt bad about giving it back without tasting it … that mouthful cost me $18.

Came for dinner with my family and were very happy we chose this bistro, staff were incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly. The venue was warm and comfortable. The food was delicious, generous servings and all meals came out quickly. Loved the soup and roast lamb with trimmings and when we couldn't eat all our food they gave us containers to take the rest away, Will be back. Thank you:-)

The Mansfield Hotel offers standard pub food - chicken parma, fish and chips, roast of the day. Unfortunately the day we went the roast of the day was sold out (at 12.30), which left pretty much steak, burger, chicken parma or fish and chips. The service was excellent, really friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The decor is a bit tired looking. Very basic, not really a homey or cosy feel in the bistro. It was Winter when we were there and it was a little chilly in the bistro. There seems to be one gas heater for the room. The food was good. Not great, just good. Portion sizes also reasonable. The really disappinting aspect was the cleanliness. The toilets were simply grotty. The tiles are obviously not wiped down regularly and there is a dirt/scum buildup on the tiles in the toilet stall towards the floor and also behind the wash basins. I only went into the ladies toilets. This makes me wonder what the standard of cleanliness is like in the kitchen and food prep areas. Overall, an average experience.
