Stopped in for a snack this morning with my partner. Decided to share a Naughty Brisket and smoked Dim Dims. Very glad we shared as we were both stuffed.
The chef advised us the best way to eat the entree and main which we are glad we did. The brisket was perfectly cooked for the shaves style in the burger, not complaints about having a larger burger than suggested. The sauce with the chips was amazing just wish we could eat more.
Will absolutely be back and hats off to the chef/front of house gentleman that put our burger together as his friendly service was already very welcoming before we tried this delicious food.

I've been here many times for morning coffee and for afternoon tea. This time we took international visitors for lunch on the way tot he Yarra Valley. The smoked meat dishes were excellent, and some of the dishes were big enough for sharing by two.

Good coffee and fantastic food. All day breakfast with the best eggs bacon salmon etc on sourdough. Friendly staff and super friendly owner who smokes his own bacon, brisket, cheese etc. His smoked cheese is magnificent. Large servings. Will not disappoint. Highly recommend this eatery.

Dropped in for lunch on a whim and what a find! The smell as we walked in was a good indication that we were going to like this place ... and we weren't disappointed!
They have just about every kind of meat imaginable, smoked and served in a soft bread roll, Turkish bread or brioche... with beautiful thick chips and with pickled carrot that compliments the neat perfectly! Brilliant!
You know when you see someone that you recognise, and then realise that they're actually not just an old friend but a movie star, or some sort of celebrity, well after a while I worked out where I knew the guy in the kitchen from ... he is the well renowned chef previously from one of my favourite haunts, the Kublai Mongolian BBQ in Croydon (and was also a reality TV star at one stage). Once I'd realised who was in the kitchen, I wasn't at all surprised how good this was!

Big drive east and had not eaten.
Smokery offered a satisfying brunch and good coffee.
Eating outside on a lovely morning. Attentive, friendly service.
Enjoyed the naughty brisket burger. Chips a bit whirly weird
but otherwise the meal overall was very good.

Amazing place. Saw reviews saying that the sandwiches were the best in Australia. Was on my way to Healesville and thought will have to check this for myself. Well it is 100% true. Brilliant sandwiches and chips and lovely people.

The reviews.....what a load of crap...the food is very below average....the smoke is as though he used a car tyre....awful.....meat should hum smoke.....not like eating a bush fire...terrible....nice chips...great coffee....but the meat...yuk...I fed my chook sandwich to the local sheep.

The only bad thing about this place is they are not open for dinner.
It’s great to have this place on main stress Lilydale (Yarra valley) instead of the Fitzroy hipster places up the road

If you love meat you will love this place. The food was amazing. The staff were very attentive. The owner/chef is extremely passionate about the food he serves and loves chatting with people about the food.

The Yarra Valley Smokery is the place to go if you love your smoked meats!
Be prepared to be amazed by the portion sizes and make sure you are hungry...you won't be after visiting the Yarra Valley Smokery!!!
If you have a big appetite I thoroughly recommend the Dirty Brisket.
Alex & his staff really know how to look after you. If you ever need an excuse to go to Liliydale...The Yarra valley Smokery is it!

My husband loves smoke meat and we have tried a lot of smoke houses. This one surely impressed him. Serving was generous, which is always very important to us, as we hate the pretentious hipster places nowadays that you pay a lot of money for tiny little not-even-that-good food. Heaps of flavours. The owner is very friendly and you can tell he is very proud of his restaurant and food. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
