Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sat out in the courtyard garden eating lovely eggs Benedict and Florentine. Good coffee, perhaps could have been a bit stronger but wonderful sunny day made up for it. Thank you

My wife and I had lunch here today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Rusty Windmill occupies an old house just near the main streets of town. You can sit inside, out the back in a nice leafy garden or on the pavement out front. I...had the homemade sausage roll and my wife the arancini muffin, both very tasty and very generous portions. Coffee was good, staff friendly, in all a nice lunch.More

A beautifully decorated cafe with friendly customer service. Great coffee. Food on the pricey side for portions, but lovely presentation.

The smoked trout salad was amazing. There dad picks up the trout straight from the Trout farm in Gippsland. It was delicious.

Went in for coffee and a bite The coffee was good. I had fruit toast and as the artisan bread was a little bland was disappointed that the butter was unsalted. But otherwise for the same price one could choose Goat cheese as a topping....My husband also said that his choice was a little bland. I would try it again as the vibe in the cafe is very pleasant, relaxed peaceful and comfortable.More

I had brunch here and it was delicious. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and I could not fault it. Absolutely scrumptious and great friendly service.

Not happy at all. Got coffee and I asked for the crispiest edged muffin. Went to bathroom came back and got coffe and they had heated my muffin. I didnt want it soft warm and crumbly I asked for a crispy edged muffin. Said I...didnt want it heated and she told me that what they always do. I said I wanted another and she quietly said we always warm them . I told her I wasnt happy. At that point..in customer service you would say sorry and given me what I asked for. But no. They weren't giving me a new one.so carried it in a bag, hot, with coffees and when I opened paper bag, because it was warm it had crumbled into a mess. So angry I binned it at next stop. Its about what CUSTOMERS wantMore

Stopped by on our way to Wilsons Prom for lunch. I had the risotto cake, which was a bit bland and dry, but my friend who had the savoury tart really enjoyed it. The coffee was spot on! Stopped by 2 days later on way...home from the Prom just to have another! Couldn't fault the service either, everyone was super friendly... I just wish I'd ordered a diff menu option!More

We were looking for a place for lunch. The Rusty Windmill looks kind of small in the outside, but opens up and is spacious on the inside. There’s also a beautiful outside garden you can eat in on a sunny day. Coffee was amazing, risotto...cake was nice, the salad was sensational. Would come back again.More

We used to come to the rusty all the time for lunch. Sadly this lunch was really poor. The restaurant was almost empty..quite the opposite of what it used to be. The menu board had more items crossed off as not available than items that...were. My friend had a pie which she said was good. I has a risotto muffin which looked delicious but had been reheated and was cold in the middle. It was dry and pretty tasteless. The salad accompaniments looked really like a garnish than salad. the coffee was good. And the staff were lovely.More

Popped in for lunch and found this place to be very good value with lunch meals under $20. Tables and chairs are of the eclectic kind, but the service was friendly and the food fresh and wholesome. We enjoyed a risotto cake with a nice...side salad, and the house Rusty burger which would have benefited from having the same salad rather than all crispy fries however this didn't detract from our overall enjoyment of the meal.More
