Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Dropped in for Saturday lunch, the restaurant was buzzing with conversation; a great atmosphere. We were attended to as soon as we entered and ushered to a seat. Browsed the menu, everything sounded delicious; hard to choose. Coffee orders taken followed by out meal order, all by the same young man who it seemed was looking after us. While we waited we took in the ambience of the restaurant and noted the coffee beans for sale. Meal arrived in a short while, the burger and the paella both presented well and both steaming hot. Truly delicious. Loved the hot coffee too. We'll be back when next in Kyneton.

I live locally and Little Swallow is the cafe I chose to take any out of town visitors to. The managers are delightful and the staff super friendly. The food is always good with a great specials board. Highly recommend!!

Awesome place to stop on Piper Street for brunch and lunch. Interesting menu choices with great quality local ingredients. Also caters to groups with delicious charcuterie and cheese platters and divine desserts. Super friendly team, nothing is too much for them! Also significant supporters and contributors to the Kyneton community. Such kindness and generosity!

Had lunch here on New Year’s Eve. A delightful local cafe in Kyneton serving amazing food. I had the home made gnocchi with pumpkin and blue cheese sauce. Spinach and peas were also in the sauce. The gnocchi was delightful, soft and fluffy in the most delicious sauce. My friend had the paella which was equally delightful. Better than anything he had in Spain was the comment. They are not serving the same old food you get in most cafes. It really was restaurant quality. My gnocchi was $19 amazing. They also had a small selection of local wine. We both had a glass of a Macedon ranges Shiraz, which was extremely good at $10 a glass. Unfortunately most of the lovely shops were closed. I will return to Kyneton just to have lunch at little swallow cafe and hopefully get to check out some of the lovely shops next time

We had a great breaky at the Little Swallow on Mother’s Day. We were a walk-in with no reservation and the staff went out of their way to find us a table. They promptly took our coffee order and provided menus in what was a packed cafe. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I highly recommend the smash Avo on Zeally bay sourdough with poached egg and a side of potato Rossi and my husband enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast. See photos as presentation was excellent.

We had coffee and cake (delicious) one day and went back for lunch another day. The meals were huge and very tasty especially the chicken on sticks, so moist and delicious. Great coffee and very friendly staff. Loved the garden out the back too

I always enjoy time spent in Little Swallow, whether it’s just for a coffee or a meal. The food is always excellent and the service invariable friendly and efficient. I love sitting outside on the street tables in the cool months when they put out woolen blankets for customers.

Little Swallow made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. I had a fabulous catch up with friends, enjoying a platter of delicious local produce. Make sure you save room for some of the house made sweet treats like tiramisu or pecan caramel slice (I couldn't choose so had both)! There is also a cute little courtyard out the back that is dog friendly.

I had the loveliest lunch experience at Little Swallow Cafe today. A perfect platter - absolutely delicious cheese, charcuterie, salad, chutneys, a glass of local wine, a perfect short macchiato. Go and enjoy! I know I'll be back!

My previous visits here have always been great but I was very disappointed today. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi in a pumpkin and blue cheese sauce, with spinach and peas. The presentation was excellent but the gnocchi was tough and gluggy and the sauce was way too thick and heavy. The service was quick and my friends enjoyed their lunches but not me....

Brunch in this delightful cafe - excellent menu choices, difficult to decide. I chose the smashed avocado on sour dough with goats cheese, sukkah, beetroot relish, pomegranate and crispy sweet potato, my partner the egg and bacon on Turkish roll, together with house made relish. Excellent coffee, excellent service. All very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

Great Ambience & food. A lovely little Cafe/Restaurant in historic Piper Street. Greeted as soon as we walked in and shown to a table. Great Menu, with the Special of the Day being a very tasty Indian curry with rice. Enjoyed a lovely Sav Blanc to go with it, and hubby had his favourite “All Day Brekky” of poached eggs with loads of extras available.

We hadn't eaten in Kyneton for some years and Trip Advisor suggested this cafe would be good for breakfast. There were plenty of choices on the menu, as well as lots of indoor & outdoor seating. The service was excellent, the food was too, and the cafe was busy for a Monday morning at 9.15am. I had scrambled eggs with mushrooms & tomatoes, which were perfectly cooked, and my husband had bacon with his eggs. He really enjoyed the bacon, which was a generous serve.

Little Swallow is a charming cafe in Kyneton, which has its fair share of cafes. Food is great — fast, friendly service, good range on the menu and really good value too. To me the most important thing is knowing that Daniel the owner is tremendously supportive of local charities and initiatives, yet does nothing at all to promote this lovely community service. He just thinks it’s the right thing to do. Combining this lovely attitude to being part of the community with a wonderful cafe equals an absolute winner in my book.

My friend and I visited the Little Swallow Cafe recently. It was a lovely spot and they had their Christmas tree beautifully decroated. Very busy and as such a bit noisy but after what we have all just been through, it was fabulous that they we so busy! We both had the prawn linguine and we both agreed it was the best linguine we have both ever eaten! We took a couple of pieces of their blueberry cheesecake (I think that's what it was!) and that was also divine! We will be back and can recommend the Little Swallow Cafe!
