About
Herd Bar & Grill incorporates an urban meets rural interior offering something unique and completely new to the Yarra Valley. This subterranean bunker wouldn’t be out of place in the city and has been likened to any groovy bar in New York City. Chef Trevor's food style is Modern Australian influenced by his love for Middle Eastern flavors and encourages shared plate grazing or dining. Thank you to Trev for offering the "Pop Up Modern Mexican" menu for a short time. Boasting a late licence, Herd Bar caters and is welcoming to all, offering sensational service, ambience in an unpretentious relaxed space, a must destination whist meandering the glorious Yarra Valley.

Such a fantastic venue and amazing staff. After a great day of lunching and wine tasting, we booked the wine room at Herd Bar. The perfect way to finish a fabulous weekend in Healesville xxx

Great place for a laid back dinner. Great service. Great wine list. Had the oysters and the barra and Hand cut chips with aioli which was to die for. Husband had veggie terrine. Also decaf EM is worth a shot.

I visited this amazing venue this evening and I have to say I was blown away. Firstly the venue is not what you are expecting from outside. Edgy with a warm and welcoming feel, but the main reason I am writing this review was the...level of service. My daughter has food allergies, which can be huge issue for a number of venues. On arrive I was warmly greeted by the owner. He answered all my questions, went above and beyond to provide options for my daughter to eat and when our food arrived it was second to none. The quality and taste of all three meals was 5 star. A credit to the owners and a must visit whether your local or passing through.More

This place has so much going for it. From the moment I made a telephone booking with Robyn I knew we were going to be in good hands. The joint has vibe, charm, ambience, and space. It is quite difficult to find all these qualities...in one place, especially outside of the city. Much thought has been given to diners' comfort in every way. The staff are delightful, attentive, but not over-bearing. You really feel that the Herd Bar has personal service as its main focus, unlike some places where you feel you are there just to generate business. The food was excellent, and the timing of delivery was perfect. We went specifically for the steaks, and were not disappointed. The drinks were reasonably priced. We had a wonderful experience, and would recommend the Herd Bar without any hesitation.More

Visited Herd Bar and Grill last Saturday for a family lunch to celebrate two birthdays. From the start this was a wonderful dining experience. The staff were both lovely and professional, the locally sourced food was excellent - I had the eye fillet steak, and...it came out exactly as I asked (perfectly rare!), and the whole party enjoyed their food. The atmosphere was great and I thoroughly recommend trying this restaurant. In particular, we had a charming waitress (whose name I didn’t get) who kept the whole lunch organised for us and was lovely!More

Thoroughly enjoyed our Friday night meal at Herd in Healesville. Great service, lovely atmosphere and fabulous food helped to make our night a success. Decor is very quirky but stylish… staff were excellent and even with the concrete floors the room wasn’t as noisy as...we were expecting… a very pleasant evening… we would highly recommend trying Herd next time you’re in Healesville.More

Looks nice inside but I wouldn't get takeaway again. Shoestring fries weren't cooked and neither was the bacon on my burger. Like I said, I'd eat in if I'm that way again.

Hi James, We’re so sorry we didn’t live up to takeaway expectations. If you’re in the area again, please call in and make yourself known to myself or Robyn so we can make amends. Hope to see you soon Toby

Smart casual is always preferred, however, we do also welcome the scruffy locals calling in after work for a few! and yes we do have an outdoor area, which caters to the smokers.
