About
We are new owners of the Hotel and have fully renovated our bistro, bar and kitchen. Opened since November 2015 we are proud to have given the Old Gal a facelift and brought her back to life. We are Healesville locals who pride ourselves on providing the local people as well as our tourists to the region somewhere they can take their families. All of our staff are wonderful and friendly. Great Family owned and operated hotel showcasing our local yarra valley produce and wines, ciders, beers and gin. We pride ourselves in offering affordable yummy food where you can enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere without breaking the budget. Best Parma's in the area. The Grand Hotel Healesville built in 1880, is a historic Yarra Valley icon which, now under new management, has been renovated and transformed into a stylish new hotel with relaxing interiors, whilst still maintaining its historic charm. New owners, Michelle and Richard, with their extensive experience in renovating many of Healesville's Historical Period Homes and Guesthouses, have now transformed the Grand Hotel back to what the locals know as "the Grand Old Lady", but with a modern twist. Locals, Michelle and Richard focus on showcasing local produce and local wines, offering a fantastic menu selection at reasonable prices. Since opening in November 2015, we have been delighted with the positive response from not only the tourists, but the local patronage. It's great to see familiar faces returning again and again to the Grand, sampling a variety of meals on the menu. Our Head Chef offers a Scrumptious Seasonal Menu, alongside our ever changing specials. As well as our seasonal menu, we also offer "Pub Favourites" such as Chicken Parma, Fish and Chips or Rump Steak, 3 definite favourites with the diners. When you walk in the door, the Grand Hotel Staff are always welcoming and warm. Whether you are looking for an afternoon catch up for drinks with friends, a family meal or a social gathering to wine and dine, The Grand Hotel is the perfect Pub to visit. The Healesville Grand Hotel is open 7 Days a week for lunch and dinner.

Had a pleasant lunch BUT ordered trio dips which were lovely, then our main courses came out half way through our dips when I said no mains until we finish 1st course. Then my main was totally different to what I wanted. The sauce with my ravioli tasted nice but to me had some curry & brown colour. Discussed with Kathy who deserves a BIG pay rise as she handled my displeasure very professionally as I thought she was the Gen Mgr. Hats off for great service & 5 stars to Kathy as we will be back again, but not Ravioli as much to choose from menu. Thank you Kathy. X Alan Thynne.

My wife and I had lunch here recently, during our holiday in Healesville, where we stayed for 2 nights at the RACV Resort. My wife had the Pork Belly with vegetables while I had a steak with chips and salad. We also had a beer and red wine. The food was good. Service was okay.

Called in on our way through to Phillip island. What a great place. The bar staff was very friendly and helpful even recommended a great meal for lunch. We had a beef burger , steak sandwich and some seafood dish. They all were delicious. Highly recommend the beef burger. Was mouth watering. The bar itself was clean and inviting.

A Grand Pig's Breakfast! On a nice sunny day, we went for a drive. Sunshine, yarra Valley.. Modest plans, but wanting to support the local business people. Sadly, we ended up in the grim confines of the Grand. 1/ Beer and bubbles - All Good 2/ Beer garden - ver y grim, very fast. 2/ Order food 3/ Order Pinot Noir and bubbles. "Sorry, we ran out of Pinot Noit. 4/ Ran out of Pinot Noir??? In a pub? In the Yarra Valley"? 5/ Yes. 6 Order Steak Sanger and bowl of soup. 7/ 35 min later - "Where is table 50's food?" oh, you guys are next 8/ anothern 10 min, 6 other meals come out, so I asked for a refund. 9/ Refund was $5 short - so what. So, in summary - The Grand cant get Pinot Noir in the Yarra Valley. FFS - Beer garden is grim and bleak - especially with insuffienct food - Cant Organise a Steak Sanger and a bowl of soup. - Either lie to customers or are clueless about running a business. I came to support them, but go somewhere else. There are may places that want your patronage and will treat you well to get it. -If they cant arrange a pinot noir in the Yarra Valley, -can't cook and provide a simple meal. - Refund you the wrong amount Then were do they keep their pet rats? in the Kitcen? How stale is their food? Do; they know and follow hygine standards? Please, try anyone else. Life is short, the Grand is a toilet.

Firstly can I say that the staff were excellent good for a laugh but very efficient. that is were it ends. The price tag on the food and wine was at middle to top end restaurant price. This was basically pub grub. The small porterhouse was up of $40.00 and came with a small portion of dried chips and a salad comprising of lettuces leaves. The wine list for the reds commences at $58.00 a bottle. The previous evening we dined at Herd, which is mentioned as and certainly is the number 1 restaurant in Healesville. Entree mains and dessert at both establishments 2 gin and tonics and a bottle of red at both also. Difference in price. Herd was $20.00 dearer.

Great friendly service, beautifully restored historic hotel and the best food. I had the Veggie burger and can highly recommend it. It was really delicious and such a big helping I was unable to eat it all, unusual for me. Was almost put off by reviews on this site and honestly only went because the restaurant we had chosen was closed and I am so glad it was. I can’t believe the negative reviews I read here, they couldn’t be further from our enjoyable experience. Thank you to all at The Grand. Will most definitely come back.

Excited to come and see such a historic building and one of only a few pubs left like this in Victoria. Writing this review as I sit in the dining room, for god sake can someone offer at least a whimper of service. Very obvious that locals are in the public bar and tourists in the dining room , have a guess where the 5 staff members are..... Australia Day weekend and 2 families have just walked out due to lack of servicing the room. Management can address or just take the easy road like most do, what a shame, we are walking out now also. Worst service we have had in years!!!

Such a shame that a building with this history and grandeur isn't put to better use. Stopped by because we wanted to watch the footy and the Healesville Hotel was closed. Cold service, terrible beer selection and a wine list with practically no local wines despite being located smack bang in the centre of Victoria's best wine region.

What a surprise!!! The Grand in Main Street Healesville has a couple of surprises up her decco skirt. She may look a bit tired, but the staff are amazing. Friendly, efficient and delightful. Ate in the Dining room, and I have to say, was quite impressed with the Red lentil dhal, perfect al dente prawn linguine, and an excellent pork cutlet. Give this iconic hotel a go- you won’t regret it.

Dropped in for a beer at lunch time and received a very warm welcome from the staff member behind the bar. Asked if we could sit outside and were directed to a well maintained non smoking area. Prices were reasonable toilets were clean - couldn’t fault anything. We are new locals to the area and will certainly be back.

Friendly staff and great service even though busy. Really lovely surf and turf with generous serving and steak cooked the way I asked. Restaurant had a nice old fashioned charm and ambience. COVID rules followed. Been for lunch here on a number of occasions over the years and have always enjoyed the experience.

We had dinner here and I have to admit I did not look at TA prior to coming here. The staff...scatty and a but disoriented. Watched as a couple who wanted a room for two nights waited for well over 30 minutes to try to arrange accommodation. Eventually they walked out. We were there for dinner and .....well I have had better and I have had much worse. It was OK but I would not be back. Not much character and not much vibe.

Arrived early and ordered entrees of calamari, which were adequate as a mail. We then had a glass of local Chardonnay to wash it down. Loved the main street at night, with its old-fashioned amber coloured street lights. Luckily the hotel which has been there for many years has not drastically altered its external appearance over the years, and still stands proud on the street corner.

Stopped for a spur of the moment meal for an Easter Sunday lunch. Wasn't overly busy so we sat outside in the beer garden where there were plenty of table, plenty of European wasps and several smokers. They had a couple of different parmas on the menu, I had the nachos parma. A little dry, overall pretty ordinary, not worth the price. The place is a bit rundown, staff were OK but nothing they did would make me want to go back. We did not stay so I cannot comment on the accommodation. Looking around, I wouldn't think it would set the world on fire.

Went there for dinner with expectations of great food and lovely ambience. Left very disappointed. 1. Bar staff were very busy serving the locals and all their friends. Very busy doing dishes. Way to busy to serve either my wife or I. Needed the locals to order for us. I have never been to such a poor bar. 2. Meals were rudimentary at best. Neither of our meals were worth what we paid. Thankfully there are other places to eat at in Healesville. Go anywhere else.
