I had a glorious day working, reading, eating and feeling like family. I wish my tummy were bigger to eat more! The soup was incredible and the chutney is an all-time fave in our house now. So many handmade goodies. Highly recommend. One of my favourite finds of all time.

After finding this cafe on google, we decided to give it a go for a morning coffee on our first morning in Healesville. The cafe has a warm, homely vibe with friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast menu looked extensive, as did the cabinet with fresh cakes and pies inside. On the specials board there was a range of juices... More

On our first visit I had scones, jam and cream which were delicious. Paired with an awesome coffee I was very happy. My partner ordered the chicken and leek pie. I’m not a fan of chicken pie but it looked so good that I had to try some. After one bite I was struck with a bad case of pie... More

Was doing business in the area for a week and Wombats Chai was my morning coffee stop. Wonderful service, nice cosy premises. Unsure on the food as I didnt try it,. but it looked good as it was getting served up.

My favorites are the garlic mushrooms, the potato, bacon and mushroom soup and for a snack the avocado and feta toast, but I'll gladly eat anything from Wombat's Chai. Monica (the cook) makes everything herself, even the preserves and chutneys, and tries her best to make all ingredients local and organic. I'm always welcomed with a smile from the whole... More

As a local, I avoided this cafe for years because I couldn't bring myself to eat in a restaurant with such a silly name. But the food is really, really good and so is the coffee. Great salads and really interesting vegetarian options. Lovely people, too. I recommend it.

The day we went to Wombats for brunch we were going to go to the giant steps for brunch on recommendation of a friend. So glad they weren't doing brunch mid week as we discovered this little gem! Often vegetarian food in cafes can be bog standard and a little uncreative. This menu was great for Vegetarians, Vegans AND meat... More

A small but very popular, local cafe. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee excellent. We were staying in the Yarra Valley for a Wedding and didn't get a chance to return except for a take-away coffee.

Rustic, charming, warm, delicious and comforting aromas wafting from the kitchen as we stepped through the front door on a freezing winters morning … yep this was us . Its a locals destination also. We tried the homemade baked beans and the berry pancakes - both highly recommend. Berries are local. Quality ingredients used. Yes … rustic and charming -... More
