Beautiful purpose built bakery

This bakery located in the main street of Healesville just near the turn-off to the fabulous Healesville Sanctuary is very modern and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food range is fairly typical of the Beechworth group though we did notice a few new food items that seemed new additions. Their coffee was really tasty and a warmed ate scone served with butter pats was a great choice.

Not nearly as good as the original

Look...it's such a popular place i'm not going to knock it but coffee should be spot on and it wasn't , luke warm and the small glass latte was a 3rd froth. The omelet with fetta and mushrooms toastie was all bread and little filling and the mushrooms, 2 thick slices were raw. I like raw mushrooms in a salad but in a toasted sandwich they just taste like dirt. I didn't like it at all. None of the other 5 i was with made any comment , good or bad. I know the sausage rolls are good so i will have that next time. The only service is when you order and pay. When your stuff is ready you go up to an un maned counter and just hope you are taking the right stuff. But that's probably the remnants of Covid service.

Very busy!

The staff here were absolutely swamped with customers when I visited. The COVID protocols in place here look terrific. As always, the selection of delectable treats on offer was very broad. I settled for two different varieties of quiche and some drinks. Well done to the hard-wokring staff.

The post covid version isn't the same. You check in but no one checks to see you have - there is hand sanitiser as you enter and the toilets are closed. Yes they still have the same chunky beef pepper steak pies that taste great and the coffee is still good but you can't sit down inside. So there are pluses and minuses - still worth a stop though.

Popular for a reason

It’s easy to understand why this bakery chain is popular. Good, well priced food is reflected in the all-stages-of-life queues. Plenty of seating and car parking. A few of the younger staff need some additional customer service training, but overall a pleasant enough experience.

Friendly Service Good Breakfast

We were on our way to fish Eildon and stopped in for a pie and coffee for breakfast. We were greeted with a friendly smile and fast service. The Ned Kelly Pie with a medium sized coffee was a great way to start the day - picture a meat pie with egg and bacon on top instead of a crust. Coffee was good too and of course there is the full range of Beechworth Bakery products on sale - cakes, pies, pasties, toasties etc.

Overpriced, not fresh desserts. Vanilla slices were old due to the hard pastry and basically off cream. Customer service not the best either. Coffee was ok but expensive for the quality provided.

went to the bakery on monday and found out they dont make you a fresh sandwich or roll on site. my partner had a chicken and avocado sandwich. the chicken was processed. when she queried it she was told it was a blended chicken serving. not sure what that means but if beechwoeth bakery is heading to the path of processed meats, leave us out.

Easy in and out

I was heading home after a visit to Gippsland - I had a coffee earlier in the day which wasn't great and I was just looking for something quick so I could continue on my way home. The car parking area for this bakery is very generous which made it a good choice to stop at. The last visit to this bakery had been in 2019 at my father's insistence. I did have a giggle when I realised whilst standing in the queue that you can visit all of their stores, like a treasure hunt, if you wish to make that an aim in life... there is a map outlining where they are located in the state- and I was a bit perplexed when I realised that I had started collecting the stores at some point because I have been to the Beechworth, the Bendigo, the Echuca and the Healesville stores. There is seating on the deck and the outside lawn area has a couple of tables and there is also a considerable amount of seating inside. Customer service was friendly and efficient. I ordered a pie and found the pastry to be a bit floury but the pie itself was quite reasonable.

Lovely Experience

We had driven up to Healesville to check out the Sunday market and as we drove in my partner saw that there was a Beechworth Bakery and he got quite excited about this - he loves a Beechworth Bakery. After wandering around the market we went back into the bakery for lunch. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not the biggest fan of the Beechworth Bakery, but the Healesville site could be the one that changes my mind! We walked in basically right on 12pm. There were 2 reasonably long lines of people waiting to place their orders, so we joined one of them and then waited as we made our way to the front of the line. It didn’t take too long at all. Once we were there, we were served by a lady who seemed to have the balance right between being friendly, helpful and yet efficient enough to keep the line moving. My partner got his usual pie and sausage roll and I grabbed a ham and salad sandwich. We sat out on the front porch of the bakery to eat our food. It was really lovely out there and my sandwich was great. I was asked to finish half of the sausage roll so I did and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. Customer service was good, food was good, the bakery itself was good……….so I would recommend this bakery. It would be good if there were rubbish bins outside, but that’s my only minor feedback. Polite, real customer service, delicious brunch

We visited this morning as we were going to a house inspection and had been up since early and hadn't eaten. It was busy, weekend of course, took a while in line to get to order, that's fine. We waited for half an hour, no sign of our brunch and the queue had died down, so I asked the Barista if our order was coming shortly. She apologised, went through what we had ordered and apologised profusely, saying she wasn't sure what went wrong. We only waited another 5 minutes, but in that time, a staff member came out and apologised again whilst handing me back all my money. All of them wishing us a wonderful weekend. Wow, did the yummy brecky taste that bit nicer because it was free? Highly likely... we missed the house inspection, but the drive was lovely, as is the destination. See, it pays to be polite people, mistakes happen. Great customer service in the end. Will return, for sure.

Very disappointing!

A quick lunch about 2.30pm with my sister during the week. We ordered a sausage roll, a Big Brekkie Roll and a cheese and tomato toastie. The sausage roll was ok, if a little small, but the other two items were almost inedible. They were tasteless and dry and had we not been extremely hungry we would just have left them on the table. We expected much more and will certainly not return. Plenty of other decent places to eat in Healesville .

We expected it to be busy and it certainly was. With 1 cash register out of action the queues started at the doorway and service was slow. Tried the Sri Lankan beef curry pie and it was nice but it had 1 piece of beef - not sure if the was an accident or the norm. At $8 I expected more beef than gravy.

Favourite Beechworth Bakery

As a Wodonga local who frequents the original Beechworth Bakery along with Albury, Yackandandah and Bright, I am embarrassed to admit that this one is my favourite. I have even been to Echuca and still think Healesville takes the cake. The venue is stunning and the pastries just tasted better! Maybe because we were on holidays! The German donuts were in donut shape as opposed to eclair shapes like the other stores we’ve been too and it was a nice change.

The Beechworth Bakery Healesville, is one of the original Beechworth Bakery off shoots. You won’t be disappointed as the same product quality is found here as with all of the Beechworth Bakeries. I couldn’t pass through this beautiful region of Victoria without paying a visit
