Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Yesterday we purchased 2 meals from The Public Brewery. They were Pappardelle Pasta with Lamb Ragu and Chicken Parmagana with Chips and Vegies.
Both of the meals were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! We recommend you visit the Brewery to support a local business.

Looking for a brewery out in the Eastern Suburbs and found this.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the wait staff, the food AND the beer!
Was disappointed and surprised that the tasting paddle wasn't available - surely that's what breweries do? Any how...still worth it.

Today I visited The Public Brewery with my family to celebrate Mother's Day. We had a lovely day, delicious food with great service, thank you Jack. There was also a complimentary glass of sparkling for the Mums.
The food is imaginative and plentiful. We will definitely be returning.

I was in two minds to write this review but in the end decided to give the business the opportunity to improve. Staff and service were acceptable but food was way below par. My husband's Philly cheese steak burger had hardly any cheese on it, was extremely dry and tough to eat. My chicken Parma was totally burnt on top and also very dry. Both of us could not finish our meals which was disappointing.

The restaurant was understaffed, so I don’t blame the girl who was serving us but service was slow and poor. However the main reason for the low review is because of the acoustics and very loud music. Even though I’m in my 50’s, I don’t mind music in restaurants but tonight it was ridiculously loud. We just couldn’t hear each other at the table which was a real shame considering we hadn’t got together in a long time. We asked twice if they could turn the music down and each time they would for a minute or two and then turn it back up. The demographic of clientele were all of similar age so I’m sure everyone was struggling with this. But the staff didn’t seem to care and were in a rush to see everyone leave. Won’t be back here unfortunately.

Great atmosphere and a huge selection of drinks. Could do with some air conditioning, but hey, isn’t that the reason you went there for a drink?
Now the bad part. The food was sub standard. Cheese fries are fries with Parmesan cheesecake sprinkled on top....honestly, don’t bother.
Tried the calamari to compensate but found it undercooked. Won’t be eating there again, but drinks, yes.

We were taken there for dinner on a sat night to catch up with the family. Not much catching up could be done unless you could read lips or use sign language. The noise was incredible and very disappointing, the food not much better.

Cool micro brewery where you can brew your own beer and bottle once ready. Turned out amazing and produced 4 slabs. Nice crisp pale ale that everyone has enjoyed. The staff were friendly and informative throughout the experience. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese croquettes for a snack ....Best ever!! Thanks again guys

The Public Brewery Croydon is a nice hidden treasure, located amongst the industrial area of Croydon.
This is a micro-Brewery that offers, drinks, food, dining options in door and out, a beer garden, brewery experience and a bottle shop.
We have enjoyed some meals and drinks here recently whilst visiting family in the area. If you are sharing some bits rather than a main, we would recommend you try the Mac and Cheese Croquettes, they have a nice hint of jalapeño and The Southern Fried Chicken is crunch on the outside and nice a juicy inside.
One things we would like to highlight, the menu on website (not sure about in the restaurant) and bottle shop suggests/offers ‘corkage’ for “ANY” beer and wine from there bottle shop, however the is false, at lest on beer, two staff members stated this wasn’t an option, even though there is advertising in there bottle shop and on the website. Luckily we had no issues by from the bar.

I went to this brewery/restaurant recently for a family birthday. It really is an interesting place - The restaurant is nestled amid the beer-making vats and machinery and so the decor is industrial with high ceilings - and yet inviting. That weekend Melbourne was having a cold spell and while the area near the bar had a myriad of overhead heat lamps making that part of the restaurant warm and comfortable, we were seated at a long table towards the centre of the restaurant where it was totally unheated and unpleasantly cold. I don't know whether it was because we were close-ish to the brewery equipment but we had no overhead heating. This really marred my experience. The food I ordered (vege ravioli) was terrific as were the mushroom arancini balls. Washed down with a glass of rose' I really enjoyed my meal. There was only one dessert available (sticky date pudding) which was also very good. The menu is a bit limited here but the food that is offered is good. But if you have a bigish group and it's a cold day- make sure you ask for a table in the warm zone or else prepare to rug up!
