Exemplary display of outstanding customer service from the moment we arrived with the additional joy of costumed theatrics. We were warmly welcomed to utilise the lovely, spacious courtyard and encouraged to snip the gate shut so beloved pooch could have a much needed off leash...leg stretch. Entering the cafe it was all systems go , led by the salt of the earth un- costumed Matriarch teaching the first born the art of front of house. We were immediately drawn to the luscious looking home made choc- orange cheesecake and baked fare but our waistline steered us back to healthier options (somewhat). We ordered run of the mill tastiest and a 🌶 spiked hot chocolate. They were far from run of the mill - buttery , melty and loaded with filling, delish !! This family love their job and we enjoyed the benefits. I feel like driving to Clunes next week to relive the experience, I can't - but when I do , I'm going to go two rounds of that cheesecake , miss you already my unctuous mound of yummy ! Thank you for the hospitality Clunes - we shall see you again.More
Visited on a Saturday morning with a party of five. We had a variety of dishes but the stand outs for me were the Bruschetta and the best smashed avocado ever, heaps of toppings and lovely flavours. The prices were a pleasant surprise, very reasonable....There was the usual fare of eggs on toast and lovely sweet tarts. Coffees were great. The staff were dressed in quirky outfits and very professional and friendly. We have family in the area and will definitely visit again. NB. Not open on a Sunday Highly recommendedMore
Nice cafe in the quite town of Clunes. Had egg and bacon Focaccia which was nice and fresh. Strong black coffee was very good apart from only getting bit over half a cup serving. Good spot if you are not ina rush.
Bacon and egg focaccia was nice and freshly cooked. 4 stars. But the coffee was average. Maybe it was just me but my latte had a sweet taste to it. Maybe it is the milk used? Not sure but not a fan.
Great ambiance & staff. , Amazing Florentines. I had a piccolo which was very nice & my partner a latte , which could have done with an extra shot - double ristretto. We will happily return when in the area again
One of the few places open for breakfast. Ordered a takeaway bacon and egg focaccia with relish which was delicious. Filled with lots of quality ingredients.lots of people coming in ordering coffee and breakfast. Really enjoyed
We enjoyed a light lunch in the friendly, spotlessly clean cafè. The pie was tasty, the foccasias - pumpkin and vegie - like wise. We enjoyed excellent coffee and there is a fine variety of cakes which I am eager to sample on future visit.
Had an egg and bacon roll for breakfast here with home made relish. It was excellent. Coffee was also very good. Staff were very friendly and we then popped in next door to the Lolly shop (also part of the same establishment) for some supplies....A terrific spot to stop for a break in your journey.More
The food on offer ranges from slice's, donuts, toasties, pies. The quality was good and the staff were friendly. The best part of the visit was sitting out the front of Widow Twinkeys and placing where scenes from Mad Max were filmed. Just across the...street is the garage where Toe Cutter and the gang arrive and park / create mayhem.More
Great hot chocolate in the outdoor eating area. Staff very pleasant and eager to serve us anything we wanted. Sweet emporium was very fascinating. Great selection of sweets to buy. Very fresh and great variety.
Great coffee, extra hot as we ordered. Cute little cafe. Extensive selection of cakes, pies, ice cream and food that we did not require, but looked tempting. Great service. Worth a visit!
Good place for coffee and tea. The scone wasn't to my wife's liking. Others enjoyed their slices. There are tables out front on the street and out the backyard for people with dogs. A few tables inside the front of shop and more out the...back. The lolly shop is worth a visitMore
It was warm out in the sun, so I popped in after lunch to get some lollies and an icecream. Prices were reasonable and the quality OK, but they got my order wrong, even after repeating it to me.
We went back to Widow Twankey's because the staff there had kindly kept our hats left behind on a previous visit a couple of days before. On both occasions, food and service great.
