Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Entwined Cafe on the way back to Ballarat from a weekend away in South Australia, it looked like a busy little place on the main street. The staff were super friendly and the meals came out in good time considering how busy they...were. I had a beef Burger with the lot that had heaps of bacon, an egg, lettuce, tomato, pineapple, beetroot and cheese. It was topped with a sweet relish and mayo and was very jucy. The chips were spot on, nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I would highly recommend this place to friends, couples or families with plenty of seating available.More

Lunch bruschetta was very fresh and tasty with avo, bocconcini, tomato and olive oil on crisp sourdough, dressing on salad was delicious. Apricot coconut slice with coffee finished it off nicely. Partner had roast of the day and dessert. Veggies were well cooked and the...beef very tasty. Summer fruits with ice cream was nice too. Well priced. Other meals that came out looked generous and tasty too.More

The three of were really surprised with the freshness and quality of the food in this cafe. For dinner we had the Lamb Shanks, Chicken Schnitzel and the Steak - the meals were all delicious and were substantial portions. I couldn't fit dessert in which...rarely happens! Can highly recommend the food in this cafe.More

Called in to a lovely Cafe for a coffee on the way through Casterton, a lovely large, clean cafe with a nice menu, although we stopped in for a coffee on a round trip from Naracoorte. Really nice main street to walk the dog. A...pleasant hour or so.More

We went to entwined as a group of 9. The staff we friendly and tables were moved about easily. Meals were amazing. The hamburgers were the best I’ve had. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town.

After a stop off on a drive, we picked here as a breakfast venue. We were please to do so and more pleased to see some fellow country people. Our breakfasts were really nice, well priced and the lovely ladies provided very efficient service with...a smile. Coming back next time we are out that way.More

After a rather traumatic experience in another local café, we fell in love with this friendly place. We felt like we were visiting the family home of the beautiful owners. The food was great but the service and friendliness was what we needed. We’ll be...back!More

At Entwined you may enjoy a wide choice of menu that includes fish, hamburgers and very delicious deep-fried potato chips. A refrigerated cabinet displays various cake slices, ready-cut sandwiches for those on the run, but also 'gluten free' serves. An up-market, colourful and new freezer...has flavours of ice-creams. All styles of coffee are hand-made and served from a new espresso machine. As you linger and eat, try your tongue pronouncing the New Zealand Maori signs and humour that adorn some of the cafe walls - and be assured there is English translation for the spotless girls and boys toilets. Entwined Restaurant is a surprising gem in such a remote Victorian country town on the River Glenelg - the home of the Kelpie sheep dog. The Maori staff very efficiently and politely serve the tables.More

The building appears heritage, as does most of the street, and this one has been renovated in a manner that is modern yet respectful of its heritage. The glass frontage , white walls and high white painted pressed metal ceilings make for an airy and...light space, complemented by warm wooden furniture. I really like the nod to the kiwi origins of the owners with Maori words painted on the walls. The menu is not extensive but has lots of breakfast and lunch favourites. I had eggs Benedict with bacon on a muffin, and it was simply perfect ( I do consider myself an Eggs Benny expert) not least because I also like being able to order breakfast food for lunch. My father in law had flounder with chips and salad, which included two large pieces of flounder. He is a keen fisherman and declared the fish to be very good indeed, and so generous a serve that he could not eat it all. Not to worry, they offered to package the second piece for him to take home for dinner if he wanted, which he did. My partner had chicken parmigiana with chips and salad. He enjoyed it, though the chicken was smaller than the giant Parmas served in Melbourne. Given it was lunchtime that’s probably a good thing. The service was prompt and cheerful, and each of our lunches was between $12-$15 .More

On our way through, our family stopped in for a coffee and snack. The young girl took our order, and we sat down - there was a bit of a wait as the other 2 staff members seemed to be busy doing other things, with...the young girl completing our order. We received our baked sweets, then a little while later our coffees, hot chips, then milk shake and after a bit more of a wait the scoops of ice-cream. The hot chips were good! The muffins were a little dry and not overly fresh, the caramel slice was inedible and tasted very old (think crystallised sugar rather than caramel). The coffees were also rather unusual in flavour and texture (not like any other coffee we've had). Sadly we found our experience to be less than we'd hoped for, in terms of customer service, feeling welcome and the standard of food. We have previously stopped in here on a few occasions and found it a little inconsistent but this time it was a bit worse. We're probably not likely to stop in here again.More

Food was actually quite OK and very reasonably priced. Good size portions and well cooked if not anything fancy. Only grumble I have is "Why can't the waitress smile instead of being so unwelcoming?"
