About
Earthly Pleasures Café is Belgrave's iconic gem, hidden by a lush garden, right in the middle of town. The building's impressive 20-foot high bluestone walls warrant a heritage listing, but today the café's mandate is modern. Earthly Pleasures has built its reputation on ethically sourced produce and small batch roasted artisan coffee that meets Melbourne's highest standards of coffee. The generously-portioned meals are made from scratch - everything from chutneys, pestos and homemade cakes. And the local craft beers and boutique wines impress the locals, while also drawing the inner city crowd to the hills. Built in the 1930s by the Jorgensen family (famous also for later building Montsalvat in Eltham) Earthly Pleasures moonlights as a function venue at night. If the walls could talk, they'd speak of bohemian parties starring the beatnik artistic community of mid-century Victoria. Whatever time of day you're in Belgrave, Earthly Pleasures is a must see It's the perfect place to dine or pop in for a drink before exploring the Belgrave streetscape, Puffing Billy, Trees Adventure or any of the beautiful national parks within a bluestone's throw.

While there’s many cafes in the Dandenong Ranges, none come close to Earthly Pleasures. The venue is unique and great for indoor or outdoor dining. The menu caters to everyone and the desserts are always hard to resist. While all this is great, the staff are awesome and a credit to the cafe! If you visit regularly the staff know your name and if it’s your first visit you will feel welcome and valued as a customer. We have had get friend and family togethers here in the past and Earthly Pleasures never disappoints.

Our family of seven enjoyed a lovely brunch, seated outside in the garden. Good service, delicious food from an extensive menu catered for all including vegetarian options. Coffee was excellent Service friendly & efficient. Covid requirements were observed. Special thanks to the chef for making a special baked cheesecake, birthday cake. It was great to introduce my family to my favorite local cafe.

My friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch and the service and location proved ideal. My beef burger actually tasted like fresh beef. The venue is charming and old world with modern flair. Excellent welcome from staff and good service. I'll be back.

Unfortunately, the menu selection, food and service today at Earthly Pleasures Cafe, Belgrave was disappointing. Shame as the venue is a stunning old building and the garden is lovely. The Turkish Eggs were not what I expected - just two small poached eggs with chili sauce, yoghurt sauce,a bit of greenery, some toasted Turkish bread. This dish is over priced at $21 for eggs on toast. The Beef Burger was basic for $22 (and NOT served with chips - they were an extra cost). The service was slow, inattentive and the waiting staff need more menu product knowledge and customer service training.

Earthly Pleasures is the best cafe/restaurant in the Dandenong Ranges! The venue itself is iconic in Belgrave and has a lovely indoor and outdoor area for breakfast, lunch or functions. If you can’t find something delicious at this cafe I would be amazed! My friends and family all are impressed with the regular menu and there’s always additions and specials that change and add extra choices. All dietary needs are catered for too, and not just token options but well thought out meals that are delicious. Apart from the food and drinks, the staff are always amazing! They’re so friendly and welcoming and will go out of their way to help if needed. If you head to the hills, don’t miss a chance for a great meal

This is a beautiful cafe, very old building and has a lot of lovely character. Hidden behind the Belgrave Library. If you intend to visit on Saturday or Sunday it would be better to make a reservation. We didn't know this but were very quickly treated with great service and a smile, even though they were very busy. Teas were made with real tea and not a tea bag, this made the tea more full of flavour. Slices were indulging, tasty and presented well. Will be going back again.

We are spoilt in the hills for great places to eat and drink, and up there with the best is Earthly pleasures. From the fantastic exterior dining on the verandah, to the wonderful interior that has to feel of a great hall in some Jacobean Mansion. Then comes some very delicious food, and drinks. The staff are friendly.. Do your self a favor , come end enjoy the loveliness of Earthly pleasures for your selves. I have been here many times and will be here many times again.

Spent a few days in the area and went there twice for lunch with my wife. Absolutely brilliant place. The atmosphere is great with the fireplace radiating nice warmth on a rainy and cold day. Service was super friendly and prompt on both visits. I had the Field Mushroom Burger on both occasions cause it was just super good. Also had the Apple Rhubarb Crumble twice cause its so nice. Wife had a Buddha Bowl once, very nice too as well as the Sticky Date Cake she had for desert. Overall, the food is healthy and very delicious - all without breaking the bank. Would go back any time and highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice cafe that has atmosphere, good service and yummy food.

We stumbled across this cafe just before our visit to Puffing Billy railway in Belgrave. The exterior and interior of the cafe is quite beautiful and there are news paper cuttings dotted around highlighting how the mansion came about back in the 1980s. There is a decent variation of food options and mostly well portioned.

Great little spot to relax and soak in the history of the building, built in the 1930s, bluestone, high ceilings and a nice fireplace.

A good friend has met me here twice during the pandemic and both times my coffee and breakfast were devine. I will be bringing my partner here tomorrow! Those scrambled eggs are to die for!

Food - 8.5/10 | Service 11/10 | Atmosphere 9/10 A beautiful weekend drive up to the Dandenong Ranges, this was the right place to stop. Food - The menu is an average size and caters for most styles of preference. On this occasion I just has a chicken and pesto sandwhich was as good as a chicken and pesto sandwhich can usually be. A good size and balance of ingredients. All the other food we saw come out of the kitchen also looked very nice. Service - the service was the best I've had anywhere in Melbourne in a very long time. Mostly due to the young girl that served us (apologies for forgetting the name). We originally wanted to sit outside but she apologised a lot and sat us inside where available. Shortly after she said an table became available outside. She was very polite, very friendly, she asked questions but wasn't overbearing. Just a very lovely personality and seemed happy to be there. Atmosphere - Originally seated inside the old heritage building, the atmosphere was a little dark, and little felt a bit empty. Once outside the surroundings are beautiful and the garden makes you feel like you are in Europe somewhere.

First impressions are so important and walking up the path to this old home gets you in the mood for something grand. The staff told me the building was a doctors residence, back in the day and the wide front verandah is lovely to sit and enjoy a meal or even just a coffee. My friends and I ventured inside to an inviting dining area with lots of natural light streaming through massive windows. We tried the: granola; banana bread and the toast and jam and all were well presented and very nice. Good strong coffee too, but could have been a bit hotter.
