Lovely ambience happy staff, also efficient. Good French food. Good spacing tables. No rush, able to stay for leisurely dinner.

Really great ambiance and food is out of this world. The service is friendly, informative and faultless. Thanks for a great night.
My first timehere, and I was disappointed at the quality of the food for the price paid. My partner and I had different meals and we both felt that the standard fell short of what we had expected. $18 for 3 mushrooms was overpriced. The...environment was pleasant, but having set 'sittings' seems rather old fashined (COVID related maybe?)More
We decided to take our teenagers to le Voltaire as we can’t travel to France at the moment. Luckily le Voltaire is just 10mins from home. The food was perfect in every way and the service so friendly. We opted for the specials menu to...be ready to us in French. All the staff merge between French and English easily which made us feel very comfortable.More
We always loved this restaurant, but I was disappointed this time. My fellow diners were happy with their meals, but I ordered the Steak Frites Salade - thinly cut scotch fillet with Paris butter, salad and fries. My steak was grisly and fatty, and the...salad was just lettuce with a spiral of beetroot. I couldn’t finish the steak, and my fellow diners told me to tell the waitress who said she would pass it onto the chef, but we didn’t hear anything. Maybe I was just unlucky, but very disappointed.More
During the pandemic they’re open 9-5 selling their amazing, mouthwatering bread in several varieties, and such delicious sweet treats, with takeaway hot lunch options. We have been a few times and nothing we have picked up has lasted long at home. Please support this lovely...local business whilst enjoying the best bread and treats in the area!More
From the moment we entered the restaurant to we left entering the we were treated like royalty , the menu is huge with so many different choices for French and Westerners. The food was great and plentiful, my partner had scollops for entree, lamb shanks...for main and creme boluai for desert. I had french onion soup ( not as good as other French restaurants. 1/2 duck in Orange sauce and pancakes for entree. The wine list was also extensive with wines from all over the world but some were expensive, but the mid price range the wine was great. I woill be going back and try some of their other great dishes.More
A wonderful dining experience. Food was fantastic, great wine list, friendly helpful staff. A fabulous setting also. A great place to take someone special or dining with friends; I would even feel comfortable just to sit at the bar and have a glass of wine...and some cheese on my own. My lamb rack was cooked to perfection! Dined with friends so they recommend we share the garlic buttered steamed veggies to compliment our meals. Can’t wait to go back, and great that it is fairly local to me. I believe it’s open 7 nights.More
Excellent French cuisine. Good cellar. Experienced wait team. Altogether a fine dining experience. Pleased to make this recommendation.
I have been a few times and I noticed it going down hill. The male waiter was a bit rude and arrogant but the lady was nice . The steak was tough and the chips cold . I mentioned issues and I was given attitude.... This is the second time The scotch was tough and for the price of a eye fillet at other hills establishments I would try other options .More
We met friends for dinner and we had such a wonderful evening, what a great vibe this restaurant has, live music and great decor. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and our meals were delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening.
Visited on Wed night for evening meal. Service was very good, food was excellent consisting escargot, eye fillet steak and crepe suzette. The selection of wines was impeccable and advice to match a dessert wine with the sweet was spot on. Would highly recommend as...one of the best in the area.More
Delightful meal in lovely location we will be back! Service was great. Wine was fantastic. Dessert was to die for. Knew Michelle from the old Frenchys in Glen Waverley and didn't disappoint.
As first-time Le Voltaire diners we did not know what to expect so we opted for variety, choosing five entrees to share between two. It worked perfectly, each dish was beautifully prepared and the flavours superb. The by-the-glass wine choices were greater than at most...restaurants and the quality was admirable. Wait staff were fun, informative and attentive and the relaxed atmosphere made for a memorable experience.More
I’ve always like the fact that we have a “city” like French restaurant. The experience is pleasant and it does feel French but on every occasion the food just does not excel. It’s ok but at ~$40 for amain I except a great meal. We...have been a few times and we always leave slightly dissatisfied.More
