We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious lunch. The rump steak was cooked to my husbands liking whilst I enjoyed the Irish stew. It was so lovely to sit and enjoy a tasty meal in lovely surroundings. Just getting back on their feet and while still in certain restrictions during the CoVid virus there measures of their patrons safety was well noted and received, Chairs and tables distanced and only the small numbers of dining allowed. As travellers through Beechworth we were very impressed.

Great service (both Annette and Peter), lovely pub food. We dined on a Thursday night so got the special Parma menu as well. Hubby had the American Parma and I have the Porterhouse Steak (medium rare). Pretty sure all chefs must get taken aside at cooking school to learn the pub side salad recipe 😉 Definitely recommend booking as they have staggered seatings in these COVID times and have it all very well organised. Would happily visit again.

Realistically this is just a pub. We had the lamb cutlets and chicken parmy all were ok but nothing special. The chicken parmy was not over cooked which is a real tick - well done chef. The service was attentive but the selection of beers at the bar was atrocious- a pub without pale ale on tap - I should write a hipster ballad about it You won’t go wrong if expectations aren’t high

Almost an hour wait on a fairly quiet Wednesday night and $30 for three little cubes of tough pork belly, with chips and salad that were the same texture and temperature by the time they were taken out of the kitchen. Poorly cooked calamari that tasted like raw flour, and wait staff that seemed to have little idea what they were doing. Would not recommend. I wish I'd gotten a refund.

No service. Awful food. Yes it is a pub and seems to cater for retirement home groups who are loud and more than a little ordinary in every way. The bar service was tedious, the food edible in part only. Fish and chips with batter like old shoes - thick and flavourless. Might consider engaging a cook because they don’t have one yet. Large plates covered in tasteless salad and. lumply sauces, do not a meal make.

A hop skip and a jump from our accommodation we partake in a few cold sherbets on a VERY HOT time in this part of Victoria. Nice friendly service in a small front bar area but was surprised when we thought to stay for dinner at how large the dining area on the other side of the bar was. A very enjoyable meal was had by both of us, we couldn't fault any of the food. Can only think that on a busy night it must get packed. Would recommend a stop for a coldy and if staying in Beechworth a meal as well.

Of all the pubs we visited in the Beechworth area, this was the most ordinary except for two things. The staff and the rissoles. I asked the chef what he recommended and so tried the rissoles, a type of food I hadn't eaten for decades and certainly not in a restaurant. They were delicious - tender, sweeetish, with a light tomato sauce. Who would have thought? And the chef came over during our meal to make sure we were happy with our choice.

Had dinner here and it was really good. Nothing too fancy, but good pub food. Staff were friendly and the wine was well priced (look for the wine specials - we had a local Chardonnay that was sensational). I would happily eat here again.

The food used to be good here. I always loved the chicken scaloppini but this night instead of a chicken breast all I had was left over bits of chicken and not much bacon. A bit disappointing as we had been there the week before and had lunch. My wife had an excellent Barramundi and I had the goat curry - simply wonderful. Pity about the chicken scaloppini. Seems a bit hit and miss.

Stayed at the hotel on a Tuesday night, and let me tell you that there wasn’t much opened for business then. Decided to eat in the restaurant as opposed to getting stuff from the local grocery store. It didn’t disappoint...showed-up at 7:30pm and the place was pretty packed-out. I got a seat and told about the daily specials above and beyond the menu. I decided upon the chicken schnitzel, mushroom gravy with chips and veg (though salad was an option). The meal was really good, the schnitzel was fresh and clearly didn’t come out of a box. The only reason why I’m not giving this a 5, is because the sauce was way too fresh and lacked character. Also had a nice glass of wine...all was very nice and really good value given the portion size...I couldn’t finish the chicken schnitzel. I highly recommend this place.

We made a few trips back to the Hibernian during our 4 day stay at Beechworth. From being warmly greeted in the public bar on arrival, and enjoying a few drinks with the locals, to dining in the bistro where we enjoyed fantastic meals at very reasonable prices - could not fault a thing. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and will definitely visit again the next time we’re back in town!

Dinner last night for 3 people. One had scotch fillet steak thick and cooked to perfection. The parmas were really special, a Mexican and an Indian Butter Chicken Parma. Both magnificent. If you end up in this town you’ll be well fed and rehydrated by the most attentive bar person Karoline, who will know what drinks you want before you do! A great night

My wife and I ate here recently, I had the Parma, she creamy pasta. The Parmi was standard pub fare probably more crumb than meat but tasty nevertheless. The creamy pasta, which had ‘beware’ written all over it, was really good, a good dose of garlic, nice Smokey bacon, perfectly cooked pasta, nice cream sauce with Parmesan, top meal.

We had lunch here after visiting nearby Eldorado & driving along the heritage track that is Woolshed Road. It was very busy as it was $17.90 schnitzel day. We ordered a hawaiian chicken schnitzel & a rump steak. The chicken schnitzel was excellent, the rump steak on the small side & quite fatty.
