Tasty and fresh food

This is a large restaurant which looked a little empty due to the restrictions on dining numbers however the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It has an extensive menu of all the usual Chinese restaurant dishes, and provides take away as well as in house dining. We chose lemon chicken, pork in plum sauce and special fried rice. All meals were hot, delicious and generous in size. The vegetables were very fresh. This restaurant had been recommended to us by a few local people and we were not disappointed. It has a limited wine list with house wines available by the glass.

I would really love to have given a higher review than this, especially given the town really needs tourists and $$’s at the moment. If you are after a quick meal or takeaway it will suffice. We had takeaway, some dishes were better than others so it was a tad hit and miss, which is why the overall rating is average. Service was reasonable.

Best Chinese I’ve had!

By far the best Chinese we’ve had. So fresh and tasty with such friendly staff. We had the lemon chicken, sizzling Mongolian beef, fried rice and veg spring rolls. Honestly! So delicious and fresh. Thanks again!

OK food, terrible service!

Two weeks ago on Saturday night our group travelled from Wangaratta for dinner. We chose a banquet, and despite asking for a little time between servings, (as we had been advised to by friends who had recently eaten there) each dish was rushed out before we had a chance to finish the previous dishes. So there were far too many dishes on the table, and the waitress had to clear away things that we had not had a chance to finish. After our meal, as we were enjoying a drink and some good conversation we were told that the restaurant was closing. It was not even 9.30! So we don't recommend the restaurant and wont be rushing back! 2 stars.......only because the food was OK.

Thanks for being open for dinner

About the only available place to eat on Monday night in Beechworth (even though sign during day said closed!!). Standard Chinese food on offer. Ordered Cantonese beef and Szechuan chicken. They were both tasty dishes but sauces were a bit thick and a bit light on for vegetables. Eat a lot of Chinese back home. Not quite at that standard. But if you need a meal in Beechworth early in week, I’d say go there.

Great local takeaway

First visit to Beechworth which occurred mid week. There are very limited options for takeaway during the week however this restaurant was open lunch and dinner. Huge menu with a selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian options. Thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway meal. For a small town at a quiet time, it seemed to have a really steady trade of people eating in and takeaways. Would return- wish they delivered to Melbourne!!!

Prawns Prawns and More Prawns.

Ordered King Prawns with vegetables and special fried rice as take away. The restaurant was very busy but my meal was ready in 10 minutes. The king prawn meal was full of prawns and tasted great. The special fried rice was tasty also. Staff were friendly.

Hit and Miss

Vegetarian Fried Rice was bland, lacking in variety of veggies. Needed to put sauce on it to make edible. Vegetarian Spring Rolls we’re nice Honey Chicken was also very tasty and my friend enjoyed being able to put the amount of sauce he wanted on himself

Great food, good service

Went here with friends on a Thursday evening after recommendation from people from Albury. My wife and I had a mixed entree and then Scallops with Ginger and Shallots and Deep Fried Pork with Honey Pepper plus special fried rice. The entire meal was first class. Service was good but not exceptional but up to a standard we were happy with. Prices very reasonable. Would certainly recommend.

Chaos

We arrived to a very busy restaurant on a a Wednesday night so were anticipating great food and service. The 2 very young servers had no idea what they were doing. We were in no hurry and ultimately enjoyed watching the chaos unfold. We ordered a bottle of Merlot, which they had run out of so we were given 2 glasses of cask wine instead lol Food was ok, nothing special. The short soup was very salty.

Bought three dishes of takeaway last night. Was pretty disappointed with quality. Love this Food, Service and New Locatiion

Love this restaurant in its new location. No Change to the food it is amazing and will always come back. I always order the prawns as I know they will always add lots of prawns. Their food is so tasty and delicious.

Worst Chinese food ever!

We ordered takeaway Schezwan chicken which was full of corn flour goup, Lots of onions, 2 pieces broccoli, 2 pieces celery & carrots. Tasted like vinegar. No taste whatsoever. The staff that took our takeaway order was very pleasant and friendly. Absolute waste of money!!

Up there with the best

Situated in a small town of Beechworth, this was close to the best Chinese I have had. Ordered something really basic (Chicken and Cashew and special fried rice)/. Had really great flavour. This place and a few pubs were the only places open for business on a Sunday night. So better order early.

wouldn't recommend the red curry, dont see what everyone is talking about good service, nice staff. Atmosphere was ok bit dark not many windows, not much natural lighting wouldve loved skylights and/or waterfall from the ceiling. if you like average chinese food its all for you.
